[size=1\ Darkfog sighed softly as he was suddenly alone in the Medicine Cat's den. But then just like that Lynxstar burst in saying something about Sernewinter and he struggled to his paws. He needed to see what was happening. He needed to be by Serenewinter, he had to be by her. Sighing softly the tom ran out of the den, making his way towards where his leader had disappeared...into her den. Darkfog knew he had no business there but he would be going there anyways. He couldn't believe that Serenewinter had already gone into labor with Shard's kits. He would be there for them if they were to stay here in the clan. He definitely would take them as his own. Not that he would forget Spellkit and Gloomkit. They were his responsibility as well. Though Abyssbird would keep him out of their lives and that was for sure. "Serenewinter, hush it's fine. " He mewed softly entering the den and looking at Lynxstar with pleading eyes.

Cloudstreak sighed and flopped lazily to his stomach, rolling over to his back slowly and carefully. Not carefully so that his pelt wouldn't get ruined, just carefully. He needed to burn some energy. He was feeling so much better and energized! His pelt was probably already screwed up now after grooming himself but he was comfortable where he was, all four paws lazily limp in the ear. He inspected the blue, cloudless sky above him and smiled. It was a beautiful day. Just the type of day to be lazy. He was almost too excited to be lazy though.

Flamingarrow's vivid and alluring jade eyes stared at nothing. Her ginger tail curled around her kits even more protectively than before. Forming her body around them, she stretched until she could put her paw on her tail, and then she looked down on them. "My little darlings." She whispered to them, leaning down so that they could hear her. "Abyssbird.. I can't stand to leave them, but I have to get out of here for a little while." Beginning to lift up her body, she heard the quiet cries of protest. "Hush. I'll be back. Watch them while I'm gone, please." Her words were quiet and even, and Flamingarrow hated the feeling that she would be away from her kits only for a little while. Carefully placing each of them next to their cousins and their aunt, she faked a small smile to the obsidian queen and began heading out of the nursery. Stopping in the enterance, she waved her tail at her family and then continued out of camp.

Stormwind's eyes widened in surprise as Lynxstar's strong frame blocked out the light in the entrance. She scrambled a few pawsteps forward, barely avoiding the she-cat leader as she came to a stop. What was going on? Usually the leader didn't rush in like this. Serenewinter....come to my den. Stormwind gave a firm nod, then, with a hasty goodbye to Abyssbird, she darted out after the leader. Squinting slightly in the sunshine, she headed for the dark and comforting den she called home. Stepping in, the she-cat headed straight for her herb supply, not even having to think about it. It was natural now, after all these moons. Stormwind selected her herbs, praying to StarClan that this birth would go as smoothly as the other queens today. It has been a busy day. The medicine cat thought. Three queens in one day, all giving birth within hours of each other? That was quite a rare experience. No matter; she had to be there for this one, for she couldn't be there for the other two. Turning, the she-cat left her den, muttering slightly under her breath as the sunlight hit her once more. The nursery and her den were both dark, so it was quite a surprise when she left. Padding across the sun-dabbled clearing, she entered Lynxstar's den. At once the scents of Lynxstar, Serenewinter, and the stench of fear entered her nose. Not even really glancing at her leader, she got to work. "Just breath and take it easy Serenewinter. It's going to be fine." She meowed as she sat down her herbs. Watching the queen with a critical eye, she waited for kits to appear.

Serenewinter looked up to find Stormwind looking down at her, expectantly. The queen gulped, nervous and scared. She let out a silent squeak as she felt one of the kits coming. Moons ago this would have drained her, but she was strong like a Delirium cat now, she was muscular now, but not like a brute. Trying to keep herself calm she pushed, like you were supposed to? She wasn't sure but she had guessed you were supposed to do that, the kits didn't give you much choice anyway. Then the pain stopped for a moment before starting again, she had a kit! She actually had a kit. She wanted to look round and see it, but she could not, she had to keep pushing, there was another one coming and she could feel it. She tried to look round at her first born, were kits sipposed to be that big? She was about to say something before she let out a squeal, another one was coming. Behind Stormwind she could see Darkfog, why hadn't she heard him? Maybe the pain was clouding her senses for the moment. "D-Darkfog." She squeaked.

As Serenewinter's first kit was born, the medicine cat leaned forward to sniff the small creature. She couldn't tell the pattern of it's coat, but that wasn't exactly important right now. Gently nosing the kit to it's mother's side, Stormwind twitched her whiskers in a move of amusement. Serenewinter actually seemed surprised that she had given birth to a kit. First time mothers. She thought with a small grin. A small pang ran through her heart, then disappeared. Stormwind knew that she would never experience something like this. Having a loving mate and a family of kits around her. It just wasn't her destiny. Ever since she had been small, the scent of herbs had drawn her more than the scent of fresh-kill. She was a warrior like the rest, fighting for another cause and struggle. Just because her battle wasn't physical didn't mean that she tried just as hard as the rest. As she heard Serenewinter squeak out Darkfog's name, she narrowed her eyes. Parting her jaws, she nodded. Sure enough, the tom was there. What was he doing? Yes, this was his sort of mate, but he was injured to the point that she had doubts whether he would ever be the same. Yet he was walking, maybe even running now. Turning, she watched the tom with a gentle yet firm gaze. "You should be resting Darkfog. After your accident, it isn't good for you to be on your paws." She meowed softly.

Her eyes found Darkfog's for a moment, then she looked at Stormwind. The she-cat probably thought she didn't know about what happened. Of course she knew. With practice, she could almost read the tom like a book. Her teeth snapped together with a crack that split the air, and hurt her teeth. She leg out a whimper, before she squealed again. Then the other kitten slowly came out and hit earth with a very light thud. She lay on her side, her breathing short and raspy, expecting more pain, but none came. It was all over, and she had two beautiful kits. She looked u at the one that was by her belly already. Her eyes began to water as she looked at the tiny creature. She was so beautiful. While Stormwind looked at the other, she brought the tiny pale she-cat closer to her and began to rasp her tongue over her very thin soft pelt. She was so pale, it would be fair to assume she would be white. She pressed her wet done to the she-cat, and pulled her closer to keep her warm. She didn't want Shard to have them. The thick creamy scent of kits and milk hung in the air, poor Lynxstar, she would have the scent hanging around her den for a while, as it seemed to hang around for ages, but would she be able to move to the nursery? What would Abyssbird think of her? She couldn't let Abyssbird think bad things of her, after all that had happened, but it wasn't like they were friends anyway. "Milkkit." The white she-cat finally meowed looking at her little girl.

Stormwind watched Serenewinter's expression and felt a shot of recognition at the wonder and love in the queen's face. Though she had been through hard times, she would love and care for these kits, no matter who their father had been. Gently she nosed both kits and checked them with a cool and calm attitude. This was old business for the medicine cat now. Assuring herself that all was fine with both the tom and the she-cat, Stormwind looked up to Lynxstar and nodded. "Both kits are healthy, and Serenewinter is doing fine as well." She reported. Now all she had to do was make sure that Darkfog would do nothing. She had a feeling that he wouldn't leave for now, and that was fine, as long as he eventually returned to her den. She wasn't ready to trust him with his own life just yet.

You can't make her give these up to those malicious killers! Lynxstar's inner mind screamed, yowling in her ear No! over and over again until she shook her head to rid herself of the thrashing, demanding voice. "They're beautiful Serene," The massive, brawny she-cat purred, again feeling that tinge of selfish unhappiness at he thought that she herself would never feel that pain of birthing a healthy litter of children. She'd never feel a tom's touch and never hear sweet nothings whispered into her ear. There wasn't a tom out there for her, not a kit in the world that she would mother. Then she nearly laughed aloud, stupid, silly Lynxstar! This clan, this whole gloriously drama-filled clan is your child, and you are the strong, wise mother! That was a good thought, and so true. With that, the leader proudly looked on at the kits. Her children. Her grandchildren? Perhaps her greatgrandchildren and everything afor and between. "You take care of these babies Serenewinter," for now, "I'm going to head over to ZephyrClan now, alright? Stormwind, would you liek to come with? To share information with Taintedleaf?" Turning after rasping her tongue over the ivory queen's ear, Lynxstar yscanned camp to find Cloudstreak. "Cloudstreak!" She finally called, upon not seeing him. "It's time to go!"

Stormwind smiled at Serenewinter before turning back to Lynxstar. Blinking as the leader asked if she wanted to come, the medicine cat hesitated. What about Darkfog? What if he tried to kill himself again? She really should stay. She couldn't trust him yet to not try anything like that again. But others will get suspicious if you stay. A medicine cat's done all a medicine cat can do. A voice seemed to whisper in her head. The she-cat flicked her ear, irritated. She couldn't help but admit that the voice was right. If she expected cats to believe it was an accident, she couldn't act extremely concerned. Perhaps a warrior to watch him was needed. Besides, if Lynxstar was going to carry out what Stormwind believed was her plan, she needed to talk to Taintedleaf. We didn't get to talk after the announcement. I need to see if he's received a sign. She thought. Dipping her head, the medicine cat stepped up beside her leader. "Thank you Lynxstar. I do need to talk to Taintedleaf. I just can't believe StarClan would let two clans combine and not do anything" She meowed, meeting her leader's eyes.

Cloudstreak jumped to his paws. Go? They were leaving? Finally! He pushed himself to his feet and happily broke into a trot toward Lynxstar. He smiled and stopped. "To ZephyrClan?" he asked with a crooked grin. His paws met the ground anxiously and he looked like a kit about to become an apprentice. "Cloudstreak, at your service," he meowed, his voice deep and rough. His face became serious for a fraction of a heartbeat but a mischievous smile returned.

Owl-like, the brawny she-cat turned her head, slowly, to gaze over her shoulder, peering into the dark gloom of her den, sweeping out before her in its long, tunnel-like way. Back, curled up at the end of it like a scared kit lay a slender white she-cat, two little pale children at her suckle, happily yelping and lapping up warm milk. Lynxstar easily could tell this by the overpoweringly rich scent of milk shrouding her twitching nose. Narrowing her gray eyes to searching slits, the leader finally picked out the shape of her medicine cat's pale silver frame stalking towards her. Dipping her head quickly, Lynxstar spun, knowing that Stormwind would be following soon after, and took up a brisk pace to greet Cloudstreak. Goofily, the light-colored tabby wore an odd grin, looking silly and yet smug as a bear with a big hunk of honeycomb. Biting her tongue, the dignified leader nearly tripped over her words, forcing herself to refrain from calling her fellow clanmate something stupid or remotely affectionate like 'kitten' as she used to call her friends when she was a headstrong, boisterous apprentice. No. Now was not the time for that sort of thing, but she couldn't help herself just a bit. "No, mousebrain, we're off to see Vertigostar himself! Didn't you hear he's got hismelf a cozy private den down to the south?" She purred, cuffing the tom lightly over the ears with one massive paw. "C'mon, Stormwind's right behind us. I figure that ZephyrClan will offer us a bite to eat when we get there, so don't worry about that. We might as well hurry though, I need to get this over with." The leader mewed to her friend, bobbing her head slightly, then exhaled deeply, and set off towards camp exit.

Cloudstreak decided it would be alright if he played along. "Wow, Vertigostar himself. Fabulous!" the tom purred, flashing a sheepish grin. His paws followed Lynxstar as they headed toward the entrance of the tunnel. "And down south, too? It's always warmer down south!" the tom exclaimed, his voice muffled slightly from his long silver pelt getting in his way. He purred once again, deep in his throat. He loved going out of camp, and this! This - this was so much better than any ordinary hunting trip. He would see Lynxstar at work, not that he didn't see her at work every day of every moon of every season -- this was something completely different. Something remotely serious. Something special. He almost skidded to a stop and he waited for Stormwind to arrive. He was so overjoyed, his paws just wanted to carry him off without a second thought. He waited for the silver she-cat with the bright green eyes appear out of Lynxstar's den.

Serenewinter felt comfort come to her when Lynxstar licked her on the head. She nodded sleepily at Lynxstar and blinked a few times before putting her head down and closing her eyes. She waited a short while for everyone to leave the den and once they had, welleveryone apart from Darkfog, she opened her eyes again. She looked at the two kits before her, they had a pale pelt, just like her...sallow almost. Then she knew what she would call the tom. "Sallowkit." She meowed softly. Her eyes glittered with the liquid that formed in them. She pulled both kits closer and wrapped her bodice protectivly around them, so they were in the middle of what was almost a doughnut shape. How could she even think about giving them up? She was glad she was almost alone. As she put her head down and watched her kits, tears clouded her eyes and they disappeared in the fog of it all. Blinking a few times they came into view again. They had milk, and now they were squealing! What was she supposed to do?
