Whispercloud was stalking his prey, having already gotten a huge pile. He was glad the clan wouldn't starve. As the bird started to fly, he pounced.. but as he was falling to the earth, it disappeared. He hit the sickening darkness with a-
He opened his eyes in pain as his tail was bitten. He looked to find the culprit, none other then Sparrowflight. He pulled his tail away, annoyed. "Don't, that freaked me out." He was cranky when he woke up, and he narrowed his eyes. Stretching his limbs, he looked at her. "Why'd you wake me up?" He asked, still half asleep.

Sparrowflight smiled inside at Whispercloud's annoyance. Yes, yes, this was much more like Whispercloud. "Because it's morning, mousebrain," she mewed, flicking her tail arrogantly. "Were you going to let yourself lie around dreaming about chasing mice and let your Clan go hungry?" She was exaggerating, of course--prey was too plentiful for the Clan to go hungry now. "Come on, let's get some freshkill," she suggested, padding out into the warm morning sun before he could reply.
The morning sun warmed her immediately, and she purred in contentment as she picked a large rabbit from the pile of freshkill for them to share. "Hungry?" she asked as she lay down before the rabbit. It looked delicious, and her mouth was watering in anticipation, but she didn't want to eat until Whispercloud sat down, too.

Whispercloud blinked sleep from his eyes, and started to wake up. The world was blurry when his eyes opened, but they soon adjusted. "Sure, starved." he padded over to the fresh kill pile, and grabbed something compleatly random. He sat down and started to nibble at it.
Something in his dream was funny. Oh, the way all the prey just magicaly appeared. He decided, and looked at the pile. He was happy that there was much fresh kill. He looked down, and started to take swift, hungry bites at the mouse he picked. Delicate pawsteps came from a hunting patrol, and she put her share on the fresh kill pile. She looked at the two cats who were sitting there. Sparrowflight and whispercloud. Her tail twitched happily as she saw her friend and she bounded over to him... after she put her fresh kill on the pile, of course.
"Hi Whispercloud!" Autumnleaf purred happily. She looked over at Sparrowflight, and her shyness kicked in. "H..hi Sparrow...flight.." She turned back to Whispercloud, and sat down next to him. Pelts touching.[/blockquote]

Sparrowflight's ears twitched toward the small pawsteps, and she looked up as Autumnleaf spoke. She hadn't ever really talked to the she-cat, and she never liked talking to shy cats that couldn't get their words out. How hard was it to just say what you meant? "Autumnleaf," she mewed in greeting, nodding her head to the she-cat. Autumnleaf sat down by Whispercloud, and Sparrowflight couldn't help but notice how close they sat. Her ears flicked backwards slightly, but she pushed the thought from her mind and continued to her prey. I did get this rabbit for us to share, she thought, but decided not to say it, as they had company. ______________________________
A lean, sleek tomcat sprang from the warrior's den and into the bright morning sun, "mrrowing" in pleasure at the new day. Spotting a group of warriors by the freshkill pile, he bounded over to them and promptly threw himself on the ground beside Sparrowflight. "Mind if I share?" he asked cheerfully, taking a bite of the rabbit before she could protest. He knew Sparrowflight ate a lot, but THIS was too much for one cat to take. When the she-cat continued to say nothing, he took another bite of prey and glanced over at Whispercloud and Autumnleaf. "Good dreams?" he mewed amiably, tail curling in pleasure as the juicy rabbit lent even more energy to his already-energetic young body.
((Anyone else wanna join? I think we'd welcome some more cats to make this even more complicated ))

Whispercloud purred at his friend. "Hello, how are you doing today, Autumnleaf?" He enjoyed this cat's company very much, almsot as much as Sparrowflight's company. He pushed his prey to her, sharing it. "Sorry, I had most of it." His ears flattened a bit in emberrassment. Then he turned to Coyotesong. "Yes, until Sparrowflight woke me up." He looked over at the she-cat, and gave her a look.
Autumnleaf smiled and took a bite of the prey, purring in ammusement. "It's ok." She licked his ear, and pushed it back to him. She looked over at Coyotesong, suprised. "Uhm... yeah." Her dreams were filled with Fleetfoot.. and Whispercloud. Her tail started twitching happily, and it stopped as she looked at Sparrowflight. Every cat knows he likes you... you mouse-brain. She thought bitterly toward the she-cat.[/blockquote]

Sparrowflight stared at Coyotesong in amazement. What was this amateur young warrior doing eating her prey? He was barely out of the apprentice's den, and he was pushing in on her prey! But her glare seemed to go unnoticed to the happy warrior, and Sparrowflight let herself relax a bit. Oh, so what if he was a pushy youngster. She couldn't eat all of this rabbit, anyway, so she nodded at him to continue. Glancing over at Whispercloud, she snorted, "You were sleeping like a badger. Autumnleaf here has already been on a patrol today, while you were sleeping your whiskers off." She noticed Autumnleaf's look and frowned. What's your problem? she wanted to demand, but she held herself back--she didn't know or like the shy she-cat enough to snap at her the way she did with cats she did like. _______________________________________ "Yea, I heard you yelp," Coyotesong purred around a mouthful of meat. He swallowed and chuckled. "She bit your tail, right?" He knew what that sounded like--he had done it to many cats before, including the three cats he was sitting with. Another cat might have been a bit embarrassed about it, but not Coyotesong. He reveled in his mischief. "Anyone up for patrolling the borders? I'm just itching to chase some foxes." He sat up and licked the fur on his shoulders, gazing at the others expectantly. "Anyone?"

Whispercloud rolled his eyes at Sparrowflight. "You could've, well, ya know.. not have tried to bite my tail off." He retorted, finishing the prey. He stretched again, loving how it made his muscles feel. He then looked at Coyotesong, and smiled awkwardly. "Yeah, it kinda hurt. And I'd love to go on a patrol." He got up, and waited for anymore takers. Autumnleaf's eyes opened wide as she heard that his closest friend bit his tail. She snorted, annoyed. Why would you do that!! She thought, tail twitching in annoyance. She looked over at Coyotesong, and frowned sadly. "I'd love to.. but I already went today... and I just got back.." She looked at Whispercloud, and her fur puffed up in affection. "I was wondering if you'd go for a walk with me, actually." She waited- and then smiled when he said yes. Both cats left after saying goodbye. Autumnleaf walked very close to him...

Sparrowflight was standing up, ready to go on the patrol, when Autumnleaf spoke. Her eyes narrowed as she glared at the she-cat, but it wasn't until Whispercloud accepted that she growled. "Right, so you agree to go on a patrol with Coyotesong, and then blow him off a second later. Good cat," she hissed, using Coyotesong so she wouldn't have to admit that she wanted to be on a patrol with him. "See you later then, friend." With that, she looked over at Coyotesong and growled, "Okay, let's go." _____________________________________ Coyotesong purred with delight at Whispersong's agreement, but when Autumnleaf spoke and looked over at the tom with that look, he wasn't at all insulted when Whispersong changed his mind. Who was he to stand in the way of friends or...perhaps more than friends? He glanced over at Sparrowflight to see if she still wanted to go, and was startled when she hissed irritably under her breath. Still, the young warrior was itching to get moving, and even the surly presence of Sparrowflight was preferable to solitude. The two warriors struck out of the camp, and Coyotesong let Sparrowflight lead, as she was the older warrior. Not surprisingly, the she-cat's paws turned in the direction Autumnleaf and Whispersong had gone, and they followed their path silently. The moment Coyotesong noticed this, he glanced over at Sparrowflight's angry face and realized he was in the midst of something he had too short of an intention span to keep up with. "You have something against those two together," he mewed teasingly, glancing over at the scrawny she-cat with amusement.
Sparrowflight shot him a warning look, but she did reply, "I don't like cats that beat around the bushes and won't speak their mind. Neither does Whispersong, so I don't know why he likes that timid she-cat so much." She didn't really have much against Autumnleaf, it was just the fact that she was hanging with Whispercloud that annoyed her.

Whispercloud trotted alongside his friend happily. He was glad Autumnleaf was branching out, she was so shy, it made him happy to know he might make her more outgoing. He looked over at Autumnleaf and noticed that she stopped. Puzzled, he stopped too. "You okay?" He asked when she looked away, sadness in her eyes. Autumnleaf looked over at Whispercloud, and frowned. "Whispercloud... you know how much I like you, right?" She asked timidly, shuffling his paws. She looked up again when there was silence. "Would you... would you be my mate?"
((OOC: Sparrow and Coyote might've heard the last part, ;] )) Whispercloud stared at his friend in amazement. What? He thought. He liked this cat, very much...but how much? Was he willing to be with her, giving up Sparrowflight? He really didn't know. "Uhm..." He looked down at his paws, and then back up. "Yes." He knew what he'd lose, and what he'd gain. He hated the outcome though.

Sparrowflight and Coyotesong came within earshot of the two cats, and it was Coyotesong who realized they had talked. Resting his tail on the she-cat's shoulder, he nodded to a bush and crept over there to hide. Sparrowflight, feeling ashamed that she had been using Coyotesong for this, and now he was still helping her, slunk over to him and was about to say "sorry" when she heard Autumnleaf speak. At the she-cat's first words, Sparrowflight's fur prickled and her claws shot out in anger.
"He won't agree. He already talked to me..." she began to whisper, but stopped her self abruptly. Coyotesong didn't need to know this! She glanced over at the young warrior, and saw him watching her with pity; he was a tomcat, particularly susceptible to the soft words of a she-cat such as Autumnleaf. He knew what Whispercloud would say, even if Sparrowflight didn't want to believe it. And then...the agreement. One simple word. One "yes", and Sparrowflight felt the fury of a tiger burst within her.
"YES?" she hissed, springing to her paws with the intention of bounding into the clearing and clawing Whispercloud's face off. She felt a tail across her shoulders, and looked over with blazing eyes to glare viciously at the young warrior. Coyotesong nudged his shoulder against her chest, pushing her back several paces. "You don't want to say anything rashly," he mewed seriously. "It would be worse if they knew you were spying. Come on." Sparrowflight managed to follow him several paces away before she burst out again, "First that two-faced pile of foxdung agrees to go on a patrol with us, then changes his mind like a lovestruck puppy just because she asked him to. And NOW, after telling me he loved me yesterday, he decides to go and change his mind and accept this shy little she-cat's offer! No good, two-faced..." she growled angrily, pacing the clearing and striking out at every bush or tree she came in contact with. Her claws scored deep into the bark of a young oak tree, and shredded a young bush. "Clearly you didn't accept his offer yesterday," Coyotesong pointed out, backing away nervously as the she-cat went on her rampage. "You can't expect him to just do nothing, right?"Sparrowflight rounded on him and hissed, "After one day? Only a grimy excuse for a cat would change his mind after only one day! I said I didn't know! I said I loved him as a friend, and wasn't sure if there were more to it! I didn't just refuse!"[/blockquote]((She wasn't being very quiet, so Whisper/Autumn could overhear her if you want ^.^))

(Both cats) Whispercloud frowned as Autumnleaf started purring and brushing against his pelt. He didn't want this, but he was too nice to refuse to the poor she-cat.
"Oh, thank you!" She mewed softly, brushing her pelt against his. She was so happy! And this would make Sparrowflight very angry. She smiled at the thought, she didn't like her.
Whispercloud went back to camp with her, their tails were twining. Autumnleaf's eyes shone with happiness. Oh for StarClan's sake! He sighed, and looked for Sparrowflight because they were still in the territory. He saw how angry she looked, and went to go see what was wrong.
Autumnleaf looked over at Whispercloud, and saw him heading for Sparrowflight. "Wait! Let's go back to camp and tell everybody!" She purred, and it was odd. She was never this outgoing... but she just didn't want him near the angry she-cat. From here she could see her bristling.
Whispercloud sighed, and agreed. "Ok.. let's go then." They padded back to camp, silent, but he overheard what she said, and he looked at her in horror. Autumnleaf stared, fur bristling. "WHAT DID SHE JUST SAY?!" She snarled furiously, and started toward her.
Whispercloud ran after her. "No!" But as he said it, his mate had already jumped on the she-cat. Her claws were sheathed, so she wasn't trying to inflict any real damage. He was sad though, the she-cat he loved had said those things about him... he was being torn in two,

Sparrowflight was far too angry to hear Whispercloud and Autumnleaf speaking, or to hear the rapid footsteps as the latter approached her. All she knew was that, all of a sudden, there was a heavy weight on her, and she found herself collapsing to the ground. "GET OFF OF ME!" she snarled furiously, flipping over onto her back and beating against Autumnleaf's belly with her hind legs. Her claws were sheathed as well, as even in a fury such as this, Sparrowflight could never bring herself to seriously harm a Clanmate. But that didn't mean her words couldn't cut her. "Get off me, you lousy cat!" she snarled, snapping at Autumnleaf's face in an attempt to bite her whiskers off. "Why don't you go back to the camp and tell the whole world how happy you are?"
"Stop this!" Coyotesong yowled, staring at the tussling she-cats in horror. He glanced over at Whispercloud and demanded, "Should we do something?" [/blockquote]

Autumnleaf was snarling angrily, throwing hard blows to the she-cat's face; she hated this cat. "Why don't you go tell the world how happy you are! Making fun of cats behind their back!! Does THAT make you feel good?!" She retorted, snapping at her face. Blink fury was coursing through her. This cat was usually so sweet... but now that she was mad... it would take a while to get her.. normal now. She hoped to get a few good blows to her, causing a bruise.
Whispercloud looked over to Coyotesong and nodded. He opened his jaws and yelled, "STOP!" And he dragged Autumnleaf off of Sparrowflight.

"Making fun?!" Sparrowflight snarled, glaring Autumnleaf straight in the eyes. "Whispercloud told me he loved me yesterday. Today, he accepted your offer. I have every right to call him a two-faced mousebrain! At least I'm open with who I am. Who would have thought shy little Autumnleaf would attack a warrior from behind?" She hissed as Autumnleaf was dragged away, and sprang to her paws to glare at the two. "Fine, I'll 'stop'," she growled, taking several stiff steps backwards. Her fur was still bristled, making her look twice her size.
Coyotesong stepped deliberately between the two she-cats, creating a living barrier to keep them from attacking again. Still as bad at being serious as ever, he mewed with annoying cheerfulness but a slight bit of reproach, "I have never seen two she-cats fighting over Whispercloud before. You two satisfied now?" Whispercloud looked at Sparrowflight with pure hatred. "You don't know why or why I don't do things!!" He snapped, fur bristling. With visible effort, he made it lie down. "You Fuzzball." He murmured, annoyed. He chuckled a bit at why Coyotesong said, and motioned for Autumnleaf to follow. He was very angry with her.
Autumnleaf frowned, and wriggled out of her mate's grasp. Embarrassed, she licked her paws. She glared at Coyotesong, but followed Whispercloud to camp. He's probably angry. She thought, frowning.[/blockquote]
