never been so used as i'm using you, abusing you, my little decoy Overheard the clouds gradually faded into a deeper, darker blue causing the forest to, little by little, grow darker. As she peered through the trees at the horizon a pale rose coloured stripe was still visible despite the lack of presence of the sun. Below the orange were the hills in the distance, and what lay beyond them was a mystery. Curiously her moist, pink nose twitched as she scented the fresh air and allowed it to roll into her lungs. The fresh sensation she felt as it did was very pleasant, not like the bitter air of leaf bare that stung your eyes. As she was doing so the clouds seemed to be winning the battle, pressing down on the light until eventually it faded away and all that remained were shadows cast by the moon as it managed to peek through the clouds. The female was able to let go of her bitter attitude and enjoy the scenery, for now.
When she returned to camp she knew exactly what would happen. An idiot would find some way to annoy her by doing something stupid, she would hiss and spit at them as her fur bristled and deep green eyes narrowed. Then her mood would be ruined. From that moment on she would be bitter and guarded, pushing others away and doing her best to ignore or insult them depending on what she felt like doing more. It was not her fault that she was so hot-tempered, there were too many presences that irritated her and made her feel uncomfortable for her to be at ease and she needed a mature environment for her to act her best. There was too much ego for the territory to contain in Tempestclan and it was practically bursting from it. Surely they could still be feared without all being big-headed, but unfortunately everybody seemed to think they were right and everyone else was wrong. She simply listened to Hailghost and whatever he said she did and did it to the best of her ability. Just like the balance between night and day there had to be a balance between pretentious and unpretentious.
Looking to the sky again there was a split in the clouds and the stars projected their light, filling the blank space with their sparkle. Slowly she lay down and rolled onto her back, her tail curling at the tip. It was not long before her mind carried her away to somewhere else, as she gazed up pink petals fluttered down besides her, one even landing on her nose. The sun warmed her belly and forced her maw to turn upwards at the corners. She wasn’t always moody; it was just others that made her feel like that and sadly she had never learned to be tolerant. The hoot of an owl brought her back from her fantasy world and she flicked a leaf from her nose and was a little disappointed that it had not been a cherry blossom. Not in the mood to go back to camp and have her bad mood ruined yet she stayed put, lying under the stars.

His olive lights were wide, taking in every detail he could. As the sun set fire to the clouds and the illumination melted into the deep oblivion of night, his pupils widened, pulse quickening, his ears perked for any sort of noise. Neptunestride's brothers had successfully spooked him with the age old stories of the night hunter living in ZephyrClan territory, and, being the youngest, it was only his duty to fall for their silly shenanigans. Now, as he was caught in the near mild wild at the very end of the day at the edge of twilight, the ZephyrClan warrior was filled with unease, asked to check the borders one last time before the patrols took a break until moonhigh by the deputy herself. Infernochaser was a nice she-cat, though Neptunestride didn't know her exceptionally well, he thought highly of her because Havocstar had chosen her as his successor and many other cats seemed to have taken a liking to her.
Shaking himself quickly, Neptunrestride shivered in the light, chilly wind and continued making his way along the border, his fear quickening his steps and allowing adrenaline to rush through his veins. As he approached the lake, his footfalls slowed, and so did his frantic subconscious thoughts. "What in the name of StarClan..?" he started as he peered closely at the edge of the lake's rippling surface, the pebbles beneath his paws smooth and damp against his roughened paw pads. Just then, a sound echoed across the moors behind him, causing him to jump nearly out of his skin. His paws began working before his brain did and before he knew it, the ginger-tinted somali tom was racing across the icy surface of the glacier, panting as his body trembled violently. Before he could even register the TempestClan border he had broke right into the trees, inhaling the sharp scent of the different plant life all around him. The sweet yet bitter scent of a she-cat crossed his nose and entered his mouth, causing him to blink quickly before realizing fully that he was actually in TempestClan territory.
Horrified, he turned around quickly before spotting the she-cat lying on her back and gazing up at the stars. His expression was that of absolute dumbfounded-ness, and he looked at her as if a cat had walked right out of the starry sky and was one of the four Clans ancestors standing before him. "I-I didn't realize I was on TempestClan land, er - " He stumbled, frantically searching for words before swallowing hard, trying his best to calm his nerves and sitting down carefully before her. "Sorry, I..My name is Neptunestride. I didn't mean to intrude on you, or onto the territory." His tone and voice remained even as he nodded solemnly to her, hoping she wouldn't end up clawing his nose off just for coming upon her in such a ridiculous manner.

never been so used as i'm using you, abusing you, my little decoy A rush of air tickled her nose, carrying the scent of Zephyrclan with it and her eyes quickly narrowed. Rolling and leaping swiftly to her paws to protect her vulnerable belly her hackles rose and she stood poised, her front slightly lower to the ground like a predator of the night taking on a prowling position. ”Do you have to make so much bloody noise?! We only just got our prey back so if you have chased it all off then I will personally be coming to take yours.” She retorted in a soft serpent like hiss. The image came easily to her; she would hold her head up high and trot confidently over the glacier to their moorland. Marching straight into their camp she would drag this cat out of his den by the scruff and boot him out of the camp to go and catch some prey on their territory for her to eat. This would all be very well if there were not other Zephyrclan cats that would just possibly want to chase her out and attack her. Oh the fun she could have if there was not anybody else around to spoil it.
Her pupils widened as she waited for him to find his voice, clearly unimpressed with the stuttering mess that stood before her. She could tell straight away that he was older and more experienced by his size and the fact he had lost all of his kitten like features so he was most likely a warrior, since tom cats always took so much longer to grow up. It was obvious he had been shaken up by something unknown to her but until he calmed down and logically figured out she was an apprentice and less experienced than him she could have a bit of fun with this, especially with her confidence. Plus he was in her territory where he was hidden by the forest, so none of his little friends could spot him across the moor and come running to his aid. ”And you thought you would just get cosy? Not with all the big scary kitties around Tempestclan who would be glad of such a large meal.” She purred maliciously. The words were harsh but her tone was bitter sweet, perfect for taunting. Truthfully she should have chased him until he was out of their territory and gone to report it to Voidstar, but she wasn’t ready to be done here. ”I’m Cherrytaint, or your worst nightmare but you can choose which.” She added with a little wink. It felt nice saying her warrior name, well what would be her warrior name very soon, out loud. ”And I want to ask how in Starclan’s name did you get so far from your home? You must be veeeery lost.”

He jumped as she began to practically hiss at him, staring at her with astonishment. Blinking at her as she crouched down, he frowned a bit, looking mildly concerned. "I apologize, miss." Neptunestride murmured, his frown growing deeper as she continued. She was a terrifying little thing, but almost immediately the reddish hued somali could detect that she wasn't as full grown as she pretended she was. While her attitude was more akin to older warriors, he was in the wrong light being on their territory in the first place, but he hadn't done much wrong. "I would never wish bad things upon your prey, especially after this last leafbare." He informed her sincerely, hope lighting up his dark olive eyes eyes.
The stars above them lent very little light to them where they stood beneath the forest's trees. With all the lack of space, Neptunestride easily became uncomfortable, his paws itching to return to his own land. Watching the dappled dilute calico carefully, he worded his retort with great care, not wanting to provoke this girl anymore than he needed to. "I was given a fright; don't tell me that you've never been afraid of things. Even the largest and greatest warrior is afraid of something." Neptunestride pondered the last sentence aloud, noticing Cherrytaint's pretty green eyes for the first time. She held herself tall as if to scare him, but he had a handle on himself now. Nothing was going to get to him, at least, not until he returned to ZephyrClan land.

Shadows crept up and over the tree that was Tempestclan's camp, coating the felines already draped over branches in inky light. Hailghost awoke from an untroubled sleep. Moons of dozing on one of the higher, thicker branches had taught him not to jolt awake, and so he slipped out of his rest as calmly as a fish into water. He stretched languidly, arching his back, and then leaped to a lower branch, his greater weight disturbing it just slightly before he jumped again and landed solidly on the ground. Among the roots, a couple of young cats were scrabbling, either play fighting or training, and he padded past them without acknowledging them. The only apprentice he cared anything for was his own, Cherrypaw. The younger warriors were alright; he had to admit that even his cousin, Jayblue, could be insufferable at times, however. Usually he tried to steer clear of other cats, period. Hailghost was easily put into a poor mood by his clanmates, and he preferred to spend most of his time alone, or in the company of his apprentice. Despite being one of the older warriors in the clan, and kin to many, he had no friends to speak of.
Making allies has never been something he was good at, and Hailghost reflected on this as he casually left camp, ignoring, too, the guard at the entrance. He supposed life would be easier with a few more on his side, but really, friendship wasn't worth much to him. Maybe that was why he had never taken a mate, or even had a potential. That, or there had been interested parties, and he hadn't reciprocated their feelings. Such had never crossed his mind, so he wondered why it did now, as he walked aimlessly, on a little impromptu border patrol. Hailghost didn't like to think of himself as 'old' or 'lonely' so he decided not to dwell on such ideas and began to tune into the forest around him. Stalking past a tall pine, looming in the darkness, he brushed against its rough bark to leave his scent, and, quite likely, a few loose gray hairs. Everything seemed calm, and he continued doing this off and on as he went, moving in the general direction of the glacier but taking his time. It was only when he was nearly there that he picked up on a particularly loud hiss, and instantly the owner of the sassy, aggressive noise popped into his head. He would've grinned to hear it except that he was half worried she might be in trouble.
The image of his dilute calico apprentice cornered by a fox sped him on his way toward her, and gradually the winds shifted so that he scented Zephyrclan. Tom. It was with a lot of luck that as the two felines came into view, the unfamiliar pelt was turned so that its bearer faced away from him. Hailghost hadn't caught the tail-end of Neptunestride's speech, so he couldn't tell what the situation was. With half a worry still fresh on his thoughts, the stormy furred tom moved slowly closer, his burning amber lights becoming luminous in the shadows. He raised a paw and jabbed the outsider's back, between his shoulder blades, roughly. "Boo."

never been so used as i'm using you, abusing you, my little decoy Gently her head tipped to one side as she did a thorough examination of the tom. He had a slightly similar appearance to Brazenpaw and Martenpaw, the deep russet coloured fur with highlights of black. Honestly, she would rather talk to him than either of her fellow apprentices as she did not get on well with either of the sisters. Overall she just did not get on very well with females and she could not understand why, it was not as if she was a flirt and went around stealing all the tom cats or anything. Maybe if he wasn’t from Zephyrclan he could have been her friend, but she had her place and he had his and that meant that they could not become friends, ever. ”Well aren’t you Mr. Polite.” She snorted with a small knowing smile. He was in the wrong and he had no business being here, and if she found herself she could yowl and a patrol of strong warriors would come charging to assist her. This brought into question whether he was actually nice because perhaps he was just wise by not doing anything that would put him in a bad position.
Standing erect her eyes narrowed slightly. ”Here I have nothing to be scared of in a territory that I know and my clan behind me, of course I get scared but not here and not now.” She retorted with a flick of her tail. He was a Silly tom, getting up to no good by trying to trick her and make her become soft and sympathetic. Well he was going to have no luck here even if it had worked for him previously when he had used it on other cats. She wasn’t your average typical cat, she liked to think she was an exception to most of the rules and just generally different. It was beyond her how on earth he could be spooked in his own territory that he knew well with all his friends to protect him unless he had seen a wolf or something similar. ”Yet now when you have calmed down you are actually in a place scarier than your own territory, your logic escapes me.” Just when she had finished speaking a set of glowing eyes appeared in the shadows and she quickly recognised them and looked back at the tom, just in case he saw her staring and turned around. At Hailghost’s sudden greeting she snorted and rubbed her nose with a paw to hide her smirk. Despite the fact she had not been scared before he had appeared there was a significant difference in how at ease she felt in his presence.

At her taunt, he only nodding, ignoring her almost laughable insult by speaking quickly. "Typically, yes, I am." Neptunestride explained, raising his eyebrows at her slightly and watching her every move. His neutral expression faltered, growing displeased as his brows furrowed. "I'd never expect you to be afraid in your own territory; it's ridiculous to be afraid in your home. I was just very gullible when I was younger and my older brothers were quite convincing." He explained, nodding in agreement with his own words. Looking about himself in the darkness, he shuddered a bit, agreeing with what the young female was saying. It was indeed much more frightening here, now that he had rationalized a bit. His weight shifted from side to side, his paws kneading the ground nervously since she had pointed out what he hadn't given much thought to. It was in his own fit of thoughtfulness that Hailghost approached, allowing for the silver-furred warrior to possess even a more terrifying appearance. It was really no surpise that when the TempestClan warrior prodded Neptunestride with his paw that the ZephyrClan warrior jumped nearly out of his skin, letting out a yelp and another cry of 'Dear StarClan!' before shooting a bewildered and astonished face to Cherrytaint and making a beeline toward the glacier, his paw steps desperate to land once more upon the grassy moors belonging to his home Clan.

[/sup] "And as long as it's okay with you I think I'll stay right here. I got no where to go, cause where to go is up to you dear."[/sup] "Flighty fellow, isn't he?" Hailghost remarked wonderingly, watching the burnish pelted warrior sprinting away. He grinned at Cherrypaw, though in all reality he should have been scolding her. Oh well, he could question her about her reasoning later on. "Did you manage to catch his name?" By now the pelt of Neptunestride had vanished, and all that remained was the scent of Zephyrclan in the area between apprentice and mentor. He didn't mind that he'd gone and terrified the warrior; after all, he was on his own territory, and it was well within his rights. Really, the tom should've been glad he didn't get his ears shredded instead. Shrugging about the disappearance, Hailghost turned back to focus on the dilute calico, his amber eyes shrewd. He didn't need to ask why she was out here. In his time observing the younger cats he'd noticed that she didn't seem to care much for the other apprentices either. It was just as well, though. No distractions from her main goal, to become a strong warrior. Turning casually as though to walk toward the border, the gray tom meowed, "We should check that none of Rabbitfoot's little friends are hanging around, stealing prey. It's newleaf, but... I wouldn't put it past anyone to pick up a free meal while we're sleeping."[/font][/justify][/blockquote][/size][/color][bg=443333][atrb=width,300,true] [atrb=border,0,true][/td][/tr][/table][/blockquote][/justify][/blockquote][/blockquote]

never been so used as i'm using you, abusing you, my little decoy A sneer crossed her maw as he told her some sob story about his brothers and she rolled her eyes. Just at the point where Hailghost gave the tom a fright her tail started to lash and anger began to flood out of her. For a moment she thought she was about to start after the tom just so she could tear into his pelt and give him something to remember her by, but she knew Zephyrclan cats had to be fast to keep up with their prey and she would most likely end up disappointed. Her paws tingled and itched to kill something or hurt someone and she began to knead the ground attentively. That was until her mentor spoke and she looked up in surprised, as if she had not expected it. Trying to suppress her volatile attitude she let out a slow breath. ”Neptunestride I think, we can report him first thing in the morning unless you wish to be the one waking Voidstar up.” She replied quickly with a small but awkward smile. ”It’s not like he will be coming back after the greeting he got from you.” She scoffed as she gazed into the distance in the direction he had run.
Turning away she paced once in a small circle before stopping, it wasn’t a small enough circle to make it look like she was chasing her tail but not a large one either. ”I hope we do find one of them so they can meet my claws and give them something to think about next time they dare come over here.” She hissed fur bristling and very much ready for a battle. She couldn’t understand why she had become furious so quickly but she would work with it either way.

[/sup] "And as long as it's okay with you I think I'll stay right here. I got no where to go, cause where to go is up to you dear."[/sup] The wind came brushing at his flank, likely carrying his Tempestclan scent over the border. Good, I hope they taste it on their precious breeze and fear it. He observed her, how angry she had suddenly become, without expression. Just the usual amber eyes of a cat that had spent a lot of time studying others and not nearly as much speaking, particularly about himself. The times he spoke most were when he was giving her a pretend lecture on battle techniques. By the looks of her, she was itching to use a few of the moves he'd taught her right now. Was it because of him, or something he had done? Had Cherrypaw not wanted him to chase the Zephyrclan tom away? Or had the tom hurt her somehow? She didn't appear injured, and he didn't want to bother her with his concern. Maybe it was just a random mood swing. Hailghost frowned, dissatisfied. He knew the feeling, of those angry days, where all he wanted to do was tear into someone. But he didn't, usually. Usually. He nodded in response to her comment, taking in Cherrypaw's awkward smile and returning it faintly. He didn't ever really look 'friendly.' The set to his features was far too grim and dark. It was alright, though. "No, I don't suppose he will," Hailghost agreed, looking in the direction Neptunestride had gone as he padded toward the border. Hearing the venom in her voice, he couldn't help but think that 'Neptunestride' wouldn't ever even show his face at a gathering again if he met up with Cherrypaw now. She was furious. "Hey, relax," Hailghost meowed, now walking the borderline slowly and deliberately, checking for fresh Zephyrclan scent as he did. "You don't want Voidstar holding you back from your warrior ceremony for scaring some rabbit-hearted tom to death." He smiled, though it felt bittersweet, to himself, as he was relatively sure she couldn't see his features now. "You'll be a warrior soon, you know." He didn't usually make such obvious statements, but he felt the need to introduce the topic, and hoped she'd forgive him this once for being less gruff than normal. His training with her and the resulting ceremony had affected him, one way or another, and the entire thing made him thoughtful, which he didn't like a bit. never been so used as i'm using you, abusing you, my little decoy The very tip of her tail flicked violently as she peered into the shadows around her, expecting and hoping for something to jump put for her to attack and release her anger upon. If Hailghost wasn’t going to be the angry one out of the two of them then she would step up to take this opportunity. At his words her ear twitched, she was still surprised whenever the tom commented on her feelings because she had been so used to him being reserved and mysterious like he was when they first met which was how he still acted around other cats. ”I bet you Voidstar has probably done worse things in his lifetime and he accepts Shard who has done a million times worse, so that would make him a hypocrite. I bet you know some of the things he has done since you will have grown up with him.” She chuckled with a snort. It was hard to picture her leader at her age, but she also could not picture him behaving himself at her age. ”Plus he already spoke to me about it, and we even discussed my warrior name, I expect he will want to speak to you about assessing me soon.” She added with an informative nod, now distracted from her fiery mood.
It was strange to speak with her mentor when he was like this, she enjoyed it but always felt a bit of fear just in case it did not last. Neptunestride had been right about her having a fear, but it wasn’t fear of other creatures or death it was the fear of being alone. Instead of being hurt when Aspenpaw left she had acted furious to mask that hurt. Nobody understood that it felt like she did not have any family and very few friends. Hailghost was now the closest thing she had to family and in the back of her mind there was a little voice that reminded her that he might leave and if he did she did not know how she would cope with it. After all, there was nobody else for her to lean on apart from him so then she would just have to face the fact that she was on her own. Shard may have known her parents and brought her here but he was useless and very uncaring. Her eyes widened into deep pools as she realised that she did not want to think about this either. Pushing it away she turned her bright green lights on Hailghost and blinked. ”I really want to be a warrior.” She meowed softly.

"My, oh my, oh my, my, my. What have we got here?" She tutted, her neck bobbing her head back and forth like a serpent slithering as it reaches its tongue out to scent its prey. Sliding up against the tom's storm cloud gray pelt, deep, rattling purrs resonated from deep within the dilute tortie's throat. "Hon-ey, don't you know it's not safe to be out after dark?" She whispered in his ear, pressing against him once more before nipping at his ear and slipping away from where the two Clan cats stood, her eyes burning through the darkness, locked on his, her own deep olive eyes on fire.
Sniffing the air audibly, she sucked in the air, catching the scent off their pelts and drinking it in. "Mmmm.." She moaned, her head lolling back a bit before her face contorted into a devilish grin. "Did you know my daddy lived in TempestClan?" She asked them, raising her eyebrows in emphasis, twisting her body back and forth, unable to hold herself still. A fit of laughter beginning first as a few chuckles before transforming into a full on maniacal fit shook her body, her head flying backward as her mouth threw itself open, her body expressing its sadistic amusement before she regained her slippery composure, her volatile smile reappearing, appearing more like a smirk than anything. "Why's that funny, you might ask? Ohh.." She began, a few chuckles combined with her odd, rattling purr once more, her yellow-tinted white ivories flashing in a cruel grin.
"I followed him around at night once, making a game out of it, and, to put it simply, I killed him." She announced, cackling once more, winking at the tom before setting her sights upon the younger form, a female one at that. "Oh, why, you're just a few moons short of my baby's age. Rosepaw, though I do believe it's Roseblush now, over in CelestialClan? Ho, ho, she's such a baby about everything, but I can tell you're a feisty one, aren't you?" She crooned, growing almost feverish from her sickeningly vile tirade.
"Oh." She gasped lightly, her mouth widening in false shock, glancing at the two of them with her lusterous olive eyes, her gaze flicking between them wildly, her grin stretching across her face once more as she lifted her head up, flaring her nostrils, her ivories flashing once more. "Where are my manners? I forgot to introduce myself." She realized, feigning an embarassed expression before shaking her head, her lightly colored bodice shivering as malice glowed within her gaze. "I'm Fadedbreeze."

"And if I had something to say to you I'd whisper it softly, kiss you on your rosy lips and never let you off me."

[/sup] "And as long as it's okay with you I think I'll stay right here. I got no where to go, cause where to go is up to you dear."[/sup] Hailghost nudged a pebble over the border marks with his paw, his motions absent of any real malice as he listened to Cherrypaw, and voiced a noncommittal "Mmmm." Thinking about the things their leader had done, he considered and drew a line with his claw in the dust. "I do know one or two things, but they're stories for another day." He had stopped now, meeting her green gaze. Hailghost's jaws tugged down in a frown, his normal stony look with sorrow in his amber eyes. "I won't be your mentor anymore," he murmured, though the blow was soft on him as he'd already thought about this before. "But we'll still-" It was just then that a threatening scent overwhelmed him, too close. There his plans to assure their alliance in the future, after she became a warrior, stopped. Hailghost was immediately on the offensive, but more than that, he was tactical, he was making use of all of his senses. The winds weren't on their side, and they'd been sneaked up on. Hailghost immediately bristled, his maw parting in a snarl, saffron light glowing as they darted around, in search of the enemy. He drew in a deep breath through his parted jaws, expecting to taste the familiar Zephyrclan breeze upon his tongue, but instead he detected something different, something unusual... Something brushed against him, the pelt of another, not Cherrypaw but instead a new female. "My, oh my, oh my, my, my. What have we got here?" She was pressing against him, then slowly moving away, but he didn't wait for that. Instinctively, Hailghost shoved away, leaping to stand in front of his apprentice. "Back off-!" he growled abruptly, meeting her eyes with a faint prickle of captivation. Remaining silent, rigid and ready to strike as she spoke, the storm-cloud gray tom studied her. He put her at about half his age, perhaps a bit older, with a dull but unusual pelt and pale eyes. There was a serpentine manner to her, and he snorted as she continued speaking, pauses scarce between. She seemed to be trying too hard to be 'intimidating.' Her attitude, in fact, annoyed him. But still he was curious in the strangest way. "No, we didn't ask, so why don't you-" he was once again interrupted as she made her announcement, her confession, with pride. Hailghost flared when she began speaking to- or, more accurately, at- Cherrypaw. He rounded on her, nose wrinkled by his snarl, lip curled up in an ugly, vicious expression. Eyes narrowed, sparking with the desire for a fight, body tense with the need to hold back. His body curved so that his whiskers were inches from her own, in an attempt to block out the younger female from view. At her gasp, undirected to his actions, he jerked away, moving back away from her to sit very close to the dilute calico. Adrenaline and instinct had taken over his actions now, a feeling he relished as he had gotten quite sick of the thoughts coursing through his mind earlier that evening. Tipping his head so that he gazed at Cherrypaw, he spoke softly but clearly. "Really, there's more freaks in our territory tonight then I've seen in thirty moons. Did you send out a message for them all to meet here or something?" He glanced back up at this rogue, 'Fadedbreeze,' and quickly sized her up. She wasn't 'petite,' and if what she said was true, she was also a murderer. However he had done his share of killing as well, and the female at his side had been well trained in the sport, so he figured the two of them could take her. "Hailghost," the tom shot back, unable to keep a dark grin from forming, the kind that came on its own, no matter how much its bearer tried to suppress it. "Maybe you should get your pretty little tail off our land, before someone dies, hmm?" He wasn't just insinuating with his words that she might get hurt. Hailghost didn't know what he was dealing with; there were never any perfect stereotypes for rogues and loners. Not like with clan cats. For instance, you could generally count on a Zephyrclan cat fleeing, a Vertigoclan cat struggling hard, and of course, Celestialclan was a mixed bag, but they were known for their pride and they showed it in battle. If Fadedbreeze did wind up being a worthy enemy, he wasn't allowing Cherrypaw to get injured in any way, shape, or form. Maybe it was better to just talk to her, and try and keep things quiet, until the mad fox left. She probably would want to rant a bit more anyway. That would buy them some time, a chance for assessing, for his apprentice to use the skills he'd taught her first hand. If it came to a fight, which he would do his best to avoid, the rogue wasn't laying so much as a claw on her. That was all there was to it. never been so used as i'm using you, abusing you, my little decoy Green eyes glistened in the moonlight as she listened to Hailghost. He sounded almost sad when he mentioned that they would no longer be paired together as mentor and apprentice, that gave her a sense of warmth inside and she smiled softly, patiently waiting on his words that were to follow. Most cats were eager to be a warrior, and she was ready to be one but she had fun training and she felt as though she wanted to know more from Hailghost, she wanted to learn everything that he had to teach and and any knowledge that he had learned from his moons of experience. She trusted him. As he began to speak her ears twitched in interest but they were rudely interrupted be a female voice and she whipped around with a snarl.
An audible snort left her nose in a rush of hot air, she was in disbelief as to why this scrap of a female before them thought she was impressive. Yes, she may have been skilled but she looked rugged and entirely unimpressive from where she stood yet marched around as if she was in charge of Starclan. In her opinion you had to look the part as well as know all of the skills in order to be proud. She had to bite down on her tongue to prevent herself from choking from laughter as the female spoke. ”Ok then let’s play the ‘my daddy’ game. My daddy was from Delirium and killed more cats than you could in your dizziest daydreams.” Cherrypaw snarled, finishing with a roll of her eyes. Although the seriousness with which Hailghost acted caused her to think twice about her actions, but this stupid female had a large warrior who could flatten her to deal with, and of course her own lithe body that was well trained for sneaky battle moves and darting about. It was enough to keep Cherrypaw on her toes, but not enough to scare her.
With a lash of her tail she stepped around Hailghost so she was standing at his side and her narrowed eyes burned into those that belonged to Fadedbreeze. ”Firstly, I don’t care about your silly little daughter and would hope to crush her in battle one day. Secondly, neither of us asked your name which an intelligent cat would take to mean they were unwelcome.” She growled, the skin around her mouth curling up to reveal her fangs. Her gaze flicked up to glare at her mentor for a moment, silently scolding him for getting all friendly by sharing his name. ”I would say we would add to your scars, but there won’t be anything left of you to see once we are finished.” She added with a small smile. It was times like these that she forgot all about being apprentice and all of the battle moves that Hailghost had taught her came flooding to her mind. With no petty relationships to distract her she could focus twice as heard on perfecting her moves.

A bit confused when he mentioned there being more than just her lurking about in their territory, the dilute tortie grew more interested in what they were saying to each other. Sniffing the air roughly, and a bit loudly, she sucked air back in her mouth, filtering it, noticing the bit of wind and grass left in the air. 'ZephyrClan.' She thought to herself, snorting indignantly at them. If any of those runts from ZephyrClan bothered two TempestClan cats, they'd changed since she'd encountered them last.
Rolling her eyes, she turned to Cherrypaw first. "Oh, isn't that cute? Delirium's what MaliceClan called themselves after the Clans kicked their asses, wasn't it? Sweetheart, they were delirious for staying around so long." Snorting once more, her olive gaze met the other female's green gaze evenly. "Even their alpha knew better to stay away, but lookit what you ran and did. You joined them. I must say, if I wasn't so disgusted by your presence, I'd applaud you for joining a Clan. We're your best defense against the real loons."
Cackling a bit at the female's ferocity, she smirked, her yellowing teeth flashing once more. "Oh, I do hope you meet her in battle someday. Teach her what it's like to be in real pain. And unwelcome? Is that what you called him, hmmm? Well maybe I've gotten a bit lonely hanging 'round these parts all alone. I haven't lived in a Clan for many moons, and if it's this much fun harassing the two of you, I can't imagine how much I'd enjoy staying here in TempestClan." Fadedbreeze confided, turning her deep olive lights onto the older tom once more.
"Ooh, Hailghost, what a spooky name. Certainly I'm not bothering you that much just standing around, am I? You're such a handsome thing, I'd hate to have to hurt you or have you hurt me. Whatever happens, I promise I won't touch the little one, no matter how hard she tries to get me. I think I quite like her. But I don't really feel like fighting, really, I'd rather do anything else, you see?" Fadedbreeze explained, letting a small yawn rip her jaws open, exposing each of her disgusting teeth, blinking her eyes quickly and shaking her head at them.
