The clans, they were always so interesting! From upon a hill on the loner lands, you could see all the action, and sometimes she could make out the gatherings. There were so many cats! And she had heard that some of the cats stayed at home, so there must be many more. And their scents, they smelt so, so... exotic. Maybe not the right word... Leaf padded down the hillside, keeping her eyes set on the moorland and lake. She didn't know why she wanted to see this clan, it just looked very pretty, with the shining blue lake and lush grass... no wonder these cats lived here. If this was loner land she would fight for this place! She had picked the right time too, no-one was out here, probably all in their camp. She would like to see their camp but there were so many large warriors in these clans, she couldn't fight them all. Anyway, it just wouldn't be right to hurt them. Leaf sat by a large rock, that obscured her from the view of anyone who would come. She just wanted to look after all.[[basically, leaf doesn't get scared easily, she's bold and thinks that evryone is her friend. well, untill they say otherwise. btw shes only ten moons.]]

Aimlessly wandering around, Dewstream made sure his paws were carefully placed one and then the other. He was known to just leave when he was upset, and he certainly was. How did Taintedleaf think he was the reason the kits were stolen. He was the father of two of the three stolen kits and he felt terrible. Absolutely horrible. He was there, he just wasn't. There was a fight for his kits, the possible future of the clan and then they were gone. He hadn't a second to react, he was only by Shiverleaf. He was so stressed over the birth of the kits that he must have zoned out. He missed out. Maybe if he was another cat in that fight for the kits, they would have won, he would have had his two kits right now. Ivywhsiper and Shiverleaf wouldn't be upset. The tom sighed and continued on, reaching one of his favorite rocks near a quiet, small stream. He was so engrossed in his own thoughts, he didn't even catch the loner smell until he almost ran into her. He caused so much trouble! He backed away, ears flattening to his head and his tail flicking. "What are you doing here?" he asked, trying to keep his voice strong.

Leaf jumped back when someone went into her, it was a clan cat! She had met one! She was exited, this tom was bigger than her, but wasn't anyone? Well, anyone older than her anyway. But should she care? It looked like he was scared of her anyway, so he should be! She could put up a good fight if she could say so herself, which she did often. "Looking," Leaf answered joyfully, "Is this your clan? Its pretty. Whats your clan called? Or doesn't it have a name? I saw cats here earlier, lots, all day! I've been watching," She ended happily. She had alot more questions all day and she had them all prepared. What did they eat? Did they eat the same animals as her? What was it like being a clan cat? Did they get along? Who looked after them? Was someone in charge? Were there many fights? By now she was jumping around the tom, her tail waving all over the place. This was so great, she couldn't stay still!

He sat patiently and his eyes got wider after every question. Questions fired out of this young she-cat's mouth. "Is this your clan? Its pretty. Whats your clan called? Or doesn't it have a name? I saw cats here earlier, lots, all day! I've been watching," She had been watching? Whaaaat? "Erm. Yes, this is my clan -- well, I'm a warrior of this clan," the tom meowed. "Technically it is the leaders clan, and the leader orders us around," meowed the tom, chuckling at how that sounded. "The clan is called..." he faltered. She was still young, but could she be a potential threat? He swallowed. "Well, would you consider joining the clan...?" asked the tom hesitantly. Maybe she could be his apprentice, he thought to himself. He smiled kindly, looking down at her joyous expression. "Why have you been watching?" It was his turn for the questions now.

So this was his clan! Well, duh, he was here. And he was a warrior? Was that like a fighter? Did the clan have a army? Would they attack someone? She had seen amries of loners, usually rabbles. But he had said there was a leader, so maybe they were organised. Could the leader make them do whatever they wanted? What if the leader was mean? Would they still have to do what they said? But that wouldn't be fair! Leaf looked at him for a moment, join his clan? Ummm.. she didn't know about that. What would it be like? Would she still be allowed in the loner lands? And she still didn't know all she wanted to know about the clan, he hadn't even told her the name! "Urrrmmm... dunno." She answered, "Whats it like in the clan? Who's in it? Is the leader nice? Or mean? What would I do? Where could I go? Would people LET me in?"

1. DONT FOLLOW HIM 2. DONT HELP HIM (unless you want killed)
Titanheart had quickly left the crowd of cats after they had finished telling him how pleased they were for him. How was it really possible? He was the new deputy of Zephyrclan. What had he done to deserve this position? He was certainly pleased with it, but cats looking to him for answers? The possibility of being leader? It made his stomach twist inside him. He just had to get away from it all though, a pleased as he was and everything, he had to take some time to himself. He knew it would take him forever to get used to the idea, to see cats dipping their heads to him, why him? He walked slowly by himself to the edge of the territory and sat down, taking in their around him and calming his nerves. He took a deep breath and held it, listening to the sounds of nature, before letting it out again. He looked around him, was it too quiet? He could see no cats. With a gentle sigh the new deputy flopped down of the grass and let himself get used to the idea of his new position.

The large tom groaned. "So many questions!" he meowed, smirking in amusement. The tom sighed. He wanted to answer them but there was that one little thing irking in the back of his mind. What if this she-cat sold this information off and the whole clan was ruined all because of him! More things ending up being his fault. Ugh. He settled on answering some of her questions.
"Whats it like in the clan? Who's in it? Is the leader nice? Or mean? What would I do? Where could I go? Would people LET me in?"
The flooded his mind, and he soon found answers to some. "Life in the clan is much different to the life you live right now. You're assigned to go on a hunting patrol or a border patrol to see what the other clans are up to," he meowed. "But it depends on your age, how old are you?" inquired the tom. He continued on, cleaving the unanswered question hanging in the air. "Leaders range in personality," explained the tom. "You're never bound to have an awesome leader each time, the leaders make sure to choose those who will take up their position carefully. The deputy," meowed the tom, instantly thinking of Titanheart. "What would you do?" the tom repeated the she-cat's question softly. "Well, that depends. Six moons you become a warrior-in-training -- an apprentice," explained the tom. "Up until around 14 moons, you're kept an apprentice and your mentor trains you in the ways of a warrior, then you're given your warrior name and from there, you begin your duties as a warrior," meowed the tom. "The last question you asked.." murmured the tom thoughtfully. "That question is a tad hard to answer. Some cats only like clan born cats although if you're willing to devote yourself to the clan and the clan only, you will be accepted by most. The leader has the say in this, though," meowed Dewstream, choosing his words carefully.
"Now," meowed the tom. "I never caught your name," he smiled. "My name is Dewstream," he meowed.

Leaf listened intently to everything the tom said, which was a liittle struggle for her to stop her mind wandering off onto other things. The clan sounded interesting, and now some things she had seen made sense to her, patrols... they were probably the cats who went out and just went around in a biiiiig circle then went away again. And hunting patrols were easy enough to figure out. Leaf was a little disapointed to hear that at her age she would be an apprentice. She wanted to be a Warrior, and fight. Not learn. Would she join the clan then, it might be boring to just learn, but she may make new friends. She didn't know! Maybe? "My name's Leaf," She replied to him, "And I am ten moons old."

Tealtide smiled. "Nice to meet you, Leaf," he purred. "Well, any more questions?" he asked, tilting his head to the right side. She seemed friendly enough and he had explained the clans the best he could without giving anything away. More things couldn't go wrong, he had already been some on the cause -- if not all -- of three missing kits who were now growing up not knowing who their parents were.

Leaf thought for a moment, more questions. She was so full of them before, where had they gone? She had to think of one, she couldn't just let Dewstream think that he had left her speechless about the clans. Clans! That was it! There were other clans weren't they? Yes yes! "There are other cats, who... don't smell like you, they're other clans right?" She blinked her emerald eyes at him, she was still mulling over the idea of joining his clan. But she still had her doubts about the other cats, maybe they wouldn't like her. It worried her.

"Ah, the other Clans," Dewstream meowed thoughtfully. "Yes, there are three other Clans apart from my clan and they do smell different from us. Quite unappealing to us, actually," chuckled Dewstream to Leaf. "You'll learn more about the clans if you join and as you follow your mentor on patrols, you'll catch their scents lingering on their borders as we pass them," the tom wrinkled his nose just at the thought of the other scents at the border. "They all go on border patrols, you know," chuckled the tom.

Leaf stared at Dewstream, he was actually serious about letting her join? And unappealing? She thought all the clans smelt nice, well, some better than others. The one that smelt the best had this sweet smell, and the one that was the worst smelt a little sour, but bearable. She didn't care anyway, all cats had their scents! "If I join..." Leaf inquired, "Who would be my mentor?" She wondered if she would get someone nice. Would they be fun? MAybe it would be like an adventure. Now that would be cool!

"With mentors, it is the leaders decision," meowed the tom. "The leader normally chooses which warrior would be best for the apprentice but the apprentice can ask for who they would like, well, kit rather because when they ask, they're still a kit," meowed Dewstream, getting to his paws. How late had he been out?
