"c'mon!" she cried, turning around to cry out to her brother before bounding down the steep hill, her loud laughter bursting from her maw as she tripped and began rolling in the soft grass, occasionally hitting a bump and crying out. as she laid at the bottom, her yellow eyes watched her brother as he approached in a more sophisticated, or rather boring, way. "storm, what's wrong with you?" night asked, rolling her eyes and shaking her head at him.
he cocked a brow at her, shaking his head also. "nothing." he replied quietly, his eyes scanning the horizon. "do you have any idea where we're going?" he asked her, in the same reserved manner. the tuxedo tom was skeptical that she did, but either way, they were going somewhere, weren't they? he simply yawned a little and then looked down at her. "are you alright?"
"well of course i don't!" she replied, flipping back over and rising up onto her paws once more. "jeeze, it's almost as if you don't trust me to set us out on an adventure anymore." she argued, but still good-naturedly. "i'm fine, i'm fine. just having a bit of fun, you big ol' worrywart." night replied, her eyes rolling at him again. "starclan forbid that i try to do anything of the sort." she muttered, walking away from where her older brother stood.
"night!" he called, a bit angrily. "now where are you going now?" the tom cried as his sister quickly picked up her pace. his heart beat picked up quickly as he spotted another/other cat/cats approaching. "night! come back!" storm cried desperately before chasing after her, concerned about what this/these cat/cats wanted.
lol at the end. anyone can join, but eventually someone from timberclan will have to find them or discover them.

Brindlefoot sat quietly and watched the other cats as they came down the hill. The female seemed to be having her fill of the fun, but the male looked like he was a bit stuck up.
As she tumbled down the hill giggling and laughing, mewling as she hit the bumps in the ground, a smile graced Brindlefoot's lips. She giggled under her breath as she watched the joy laid out before her. She almost wanted to run down and join in, she would have had she known what kind of reception she would get. The male was more sedate in his trip down, he simply padded very carefully behind the female and met her at the bottom.
A conversation ensued between the two of them, and she seemed to be exasperated with him. I wonder why Brindle thought to herself sarcastically. No doubt, somone that did not know how to have fun would get on her nerves as well. Her tail flicked in amusement, though she was too fark away to hear what they were saying.
The wind was working in her favor though, and carried the scents of the pair to her. Brindle parted her jaws and let it grace the glands on the roof of her mouth. She could tell that they were not from any of the clans, and that they were not familiar to her at all. Her mind quickly sorted through all of the scents that she had stored in her brain, and there was nothing that matched.
Slowly she got to her paws and padded toward them; it was time to see if they were friend or foe. As she approached, she heard the male call out to the female, and thought to herself This is going to be fun...

night dashed forward, racing toward the cat that had appeared. nearly tripping over her feet as she began to stop, she finally froze in place just a few whisker-lengths away from her. "hello!" she cried exuberantly, her own whiskers twitching and her eyes flashing with excitement. "i'm night! who are you? and, well, how are you, too? i'm great, as always!" the she-cat chattered, dropping her bottom down behind her to sit down in front of this she-cat.
he was going to kill her. there just wasn't anything else he could do. he'd rather see her die at his own paws than in a freak accident and from another cat. storm clenched his jaw shut tightly, his frown intensifying as he bounded quickly, for the first time that day, toward his sister. his paws had an urgency that her excited, tumbling ones did not, for he did not trust this new coming cat. he stopped much more gracefully than night, slowing down much sooner than she had even attempted to. he glowered silently at the new she-cat and his sister, his eyebrows furrowing and his tail fluffing out in slight alarm.
night turned around, flashing an innocent look at her brother. "i swear, you act as if you made your nest out of burs last night, storm." she mewed exasperatedly. this comment only made him grow more tense, and night couldn't help but feel embarrassed. "i'm so sorry. i'd say he's normally not like this, but really, he always is." she let out a sigh before resuming watching the other she-cat.

Brindlefoot watched as the female came running towards her, tripping over her own paws in a hurry and skidding to a halt. When she came to a stop, she was almost nose to nose with Brindle, and ractically twitching in excitement. Brindle's whiskers twitched in amusement and she took a step back before taking a seat, a small smile on her lips.
She kept her eye on the male as the female spoke in fast, chipper words. He bounded after the female, but he carried the urgency of a cat on a mission, and from what it looked like she was the enemy. The scowl that was on his face was not wasted on his sister either though, he had enough for both of them. He stopped a few paces away from them and stood there as if he was standing on pins and needles. He is such an uptight little thing Brindle thought to herself.
She leaned around and addressed the male first "Relax. Does it look like I am going to eat either of you. If i wanted to, all i would have to have done is hold my mouth open and let your sister run in! I'm not going to hurt either of you unless you attack me. Do you plan on doing so?" She then looked to the female and grinned at her.
"You really should be more careful running up to cats that you don't know, not all are as friendly as I am." Brindle winked at her. "I am Brindlefoot. I am good, though curious as to where you to came from out here in the middle of no where. Where is your home?" She cocked her head to the side, still smiling at the friendly little female. She was a pretty one, that was for sure.

storm grew tense as the she-cat addressed him first, his whiskers twitching apprehensively. as much as relief tried to spill in through him, he wouldn't allow it to take over completely. who knew? she could be lying, afterall. glaring at her, he opened his mouth to speak, and stood there with his mouth wide open for a moment before just muttering, "no." he gave her a dismissive flick of his tail and sat down, never taking his eyes from the she-cat.
"i knoowww." night drew out the last word in a playful manner, her eyes twinkling as she grinned at the she-cat, giggling as she winked. night's eyes widened a bit at her two part name, but it didn't hit her until later. "oh, we lived with our mother until she said we were old enough to expore on our own. i don't think storm believes i'm ready to explore yet. he'd keep me under his watch until i'd turned at least fifty moons old if he could." night rambled animatedly, her pretty tuxedo fur ruffling a bit in the wind.
instead of his malicious glare, storm eyes looked at brindlefoot curiously now. "brindlefoot? that's a clan name, isn't it?" he asked, tilting his own head to the side now. all the stories their mother had told them seemed so far away, but now that they'd actually encountered one...weren't they supposed to be far away themselves? "you've not always lived in these lands, have you? i remember exploring them when i was younger. there was hardly a cat in sight, except for in the deepest parts of the forest."
night gasped slightly, jumping up to her feet. "oh! oh! oh! you're from a clan!" she exclaimed, looking at brindlefoot even more excitedly. she looked her over from head to toe. "are you from zephyrclan? the hills and sloping fields...you must be!" she looked excitedly back at her brother, who had begun to approach the two of them.
ooc: hahaha, brindle is in for some craziness. xD their mom was a clan cat and she told them stories when they were growing up.

The Storm's glare was more funny than it was intimidating, all he managed was "no" but she decided to indulge him for a moment. Brindlefoot flipped onto her back and looked around the female onc again, this time, her brow raised a bit. "Would it make you feel better if I stayed like this? You could tickle me to death if you like." Here she couldn't help but grin at him.
Brindle got back to her feet and shook her multicolor fur, and sat back down, turnin her attention to the little Night. She began to talk excitedly, telling her that they were house cats; which of course she already knew. If she had not known it from their demenor, their scent would have given them away. Brindle opened her mouth jaws slightly and let the scent wash over her palete. "How old are you little kitty?"
Storm spke now, but it was not in answer to her question, it was a question of his own. "Are you a clan cat?" He was a sharp one, there would not be much that you could slide by him. She gave him a smile before she answered him. "Yes, I am a clan cat." As soon as she had answered, Night came in with an unending list of questions, she answered them as she could.
"Yes, I am a Zephrclan cat. We have beautiful lands. We have not always lived where we do now, no. What stories have you heard?"
With the two of them, the smart and calculating one, and the bouncy, energetic one, this was going to be fun...

storm snorted as the she-cat rolled over onto her back, and just looked away into the distance, ears perked to listen to their conversation. he felt like a chaperone on this little excursion, and he felt anxious despite the fact that this brindlefoot girl wasn't trouble. as she continued to tease them, his ears grew hot. "i'm sure you'd enjoy that." he mewed sarcastically, drawing his attention back to her. he glanced at night and reluctantly nodded.
"i'm seven moons!
[/b]" night announced with a grin. " i'm nearly twelve moons." storm murmured quietly, and night rolled her eyes at him. " acts like he's elder, though." then night refocused onto brindlefoot's question. " oh, we've heard all kinds! stories of the vertigoclan mountains and their pine forest, celestialclan and their hilly own forest, how beautiful the zephyrclan lake is, and, of course, how ill-tempered those tempestclan cats can be." she tsked at the end, shaking her head back and forth. " mum told us about the code, patrols, leaders, deputies - well, basically everything there is to know about the clans. she grew up in them." storm continued, more stoically than night had. " we grew up in the wild with her, our father gone, if he's dead or if he just left us, we don't really know." night exhaled slowly, much like a sigh. " i try not to let those things get to me, though." she added after storm had finished. " i don't really remember our dad...but i think storm does and that's why he's so solemn." night murmured quietly, and storm too let out a sigh. " best not dwell on it, night." he mewed in a consoling tone, pressing against her side before drawing himself back away from her. " what's your story? night asked, curiously.[/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote][/justify]

Brindlefoot felt a twinge of pain for the young kits. Having been abandoned as a kit, she had never known either of her parents and had known how it was to feel that way. She looked at both of them in turn and then looked at her feet and took a deep breath.
"Don't feel bad. You have a mother that loves you. She would do anything to keep you safe and happy. Always remember that. I did not have either of my parents."
From there her mind took off and went on a tangent of self distruction. What was wrong with her? Why did her parents not want her? There had to be something that she had done. There had to be. She had not managed to figure out what it was that she had done, but she knew that there was something. Brindle really hoped that these kits did not feel the way that she did. It was no kind of life to wonder what was wrong with you all the time.
Her feet scuffed the dirt as she played with a tuft of grass. Finally she looked up and met their eyes.
"What are you two out here for anyway? Just to wander, or are you on a mission?"
