I have 7 cats, all of them were rescued from various bad situations...
Umm... I am going to college for veterinary medicine right now...
Reading and writing are the two loves of my life.

Minty- The people I got my old cat (18 years old!) from were going to shoot him, so I took him. Two of them are brother and sister, they were 'barn cats' that had bellies full of worms and they had huge naked patches due to fleas. Two more are sisters and they were meant to adopt out but ended up having health issues. One has a clouded eye due to an infection as a baby (and six toes on both front feet!), and the other has asthma. Thought I love all my kitties, my true baby is my one eyed kitten. I volunteer at a vet clinic right now, and i went in one morning and they had her scheduled to be put to sleep, She had an eye infection that was so bad that they had to remove the eye, but the woman couldn't find anyone that would take her, and she couldn't take her back herself as she lived on a farm. She paid everything, as long as someone would take the kitten, so I brought her home. She is my special kitty. Even if she does have health problems. And she is beautiful despite the missing eye, as a matter of fact one of my characters is based off of her as her warrior counterpart. ( In real life she is just a spoiled kitty pet.) Dusk- It looks like a safe bet! And thank you for the welcome! ;D AERO- YAY! FLOWERS! *dances in the flowers* Thank you! I am glad that I joined!

Yeah I hear a lot of stories like that when cats get dumped at the shelter and it's so horrible. But I'm so glad that they all have a happy life with you now <3 they must have all really landed on their feet. It just sucks that there are still more out there in difficult situations but one can only try (: I hate how people judge cats on how they look and think just because they have health problems that they don't have a good heart =/ My friend has a cat who was born with a brain defect so she is really strange and spasms a lot but she is still cute :3
My foster cat's owners moved away and just left her there, then she ended up in the cat shelter I work at for a year and when my old cat died (he couldn't be around any other cats because he got stressed and got bladder stones) I took her home. She is thirteen and has hypertension, kidney failure, a heart murmur and is a chronic carrier of the cat flu. So yeah nobody would adopt her and pay her vet bills, so they charity still pay for her treatment and I just give her all the pills she needs which is a lot XD and look after her of course. It's policy they don't put a cat down when it has a chronic illness but it was no life sitting in a pen for that long.

Lily- Thank you! I am really happy that I decided to join! (and that AERO did a little convincing ;D )
Minty- Because of the surgery that she had on the eye it put stress on her brain and caused some issues. (She was only about 6 weeks old when she had the first surgery.) She has a kind of seizure where she will just kind of zone out and is oblivious to everything. (When this happens I pick her up and talk to her till she comes out of it, it tends to scare her and she gets super clingy.) And she has the bladder issues too, though I saw the signs early and we were able to prevent stones with special food. (That is expensive, but worth it.)
And yes, there are so many out there that need homes that do not have them. My heart goes out to each and every one, and I do what I can, but there is only so much that we can do as a person. Society as a whole would have to make it a concern to take these kitties in, and unfortunately, it looks like most of them want to dump them rather than give them a home. Very upsetting and disheartening on the whole.
