PERSONALITY//

His temper when provoked can be matched only by the depth of his devotion to those that have earned his loyalty. Conversation with this tom is unlikely, and praise is extremely rare. He distrusts many and dislikes even more. Though his self-preserving nature, instincts, and ambition run deep in his blood, he's willing to give himself over to save the few he truly loves. Tends to be overly protective and violent regarding said few. Aggressive, calculated, tactical, focused. He has killed before and isn't afraid to do it again, though not without good reason. Somewhat mellowed by his older age and higher rank within the clan.

EXPERIENCE//

He was born in a litter of three in Tempestclan's nursery; Hailkit himself, his sister, Dreamkit, and their brother, Blazekit. Blazekit looked much like their mother, Russetclaw. While his coloring mirrored their father, Littlebreeze's, he shared traits with his mother; his long fur, huge size, and a bit of her manner. His sister, Dreamkit, was almost a carbon copy of their father Littlebreeze. She was always their father's favorite, which annoyed Hailkit at first, though he recognized that their mother, Russetclaw, was the real warrior. He was, then, dismayed when she betrayed the clan when he was an apprentice; though he had another mentor, Russetclaw had always been closest to him over his siblings, as they shared a common nature, and had taught him many battle maneuvers. Though after the battle, in which Hailpaw fought the rogues too, Russet asked him if he would leave with her and join the rogues, but he refused, telling his newly outcast mother that her actions disgusted him; for, even though he had been known to be far too violent, he fought hard for Tempestclan, where his loyalties lay with his siblings, Blazepaw and Dreampaw. More tragedy would befall the three siblings, who had become extremely close after their mother's betrayal, however; when they were all eleven moons old Blazepaw went on a patrol, and this patrol ran into three foxes freshly out of their den. Blazepaw had always been the smallest of their litter, the runt, and was killed in the fight. Though he is remembered by his brother as Blazepaw, he was sent to Starclan, a moon from his warrior ceremony, with the name Blazeleap.

A moon after Blazepaw's death, Dreampaw was given the name Dreamfeather, and Hailpaw was deemed Hailghost. He had always worked hard, being very ambitious, and was quite jealous when his sister was given her first apprentice, Midnightpaw, and he was not. Though the two suffered together as their father grew sick and at last died, they had drawn apart greatly since Blazepaw's death, and since Dreamfeather was given an apprentice, and Hailghost came to resent his sister as she was named deputy of the clan, the position he had always longed for.
