The sleek black tom with darker black spots and stripes uncurled himself from his slumber. He let out a small yawn as he stretched each on of his limps. The long tom pushed himself into a sitting position. He quickly cleaned his pelt of dust and small rock pebbles. He slowly licked his front paw and drew it over his face. Once he felt he was clean enough he stood onto his paws again. He crept over his clan mates and other cats. He looked around the caves at the other clans. Was this really right. He spotted his sister not far away. As he pasted her he felt the urge to run over and cuddle close to her like he use to as a kit. He shook his head and went back to his search. He spotted the one cat he was looking for. He crept over to her. He looked down at the small grey she-cat.
He gently laid his paw on his shoulder. He gave her a small shake. He leaned down to Riverpaw and mewed, "Wake up Riverpaw. We need to head out for training. I'm sorry if you are tried, but we never got the chance to practices your battle moves like yo wanted too." Blackpanther stood up and leaped over Riverpaw and padded towards the entrance. His tail flickered as he felt the sun warm his pelt. His dark spots shined in the sunlight. He always felt his pelt was special. It was pure black at night and had spots and stripes in the sunlight. He felt it made him different and different was good.
"Oh I hope were not going into danger," He mumbled softly. He sat down and waited for Rivepaw. He wrapped his tail around his paws.

Riverpaw awoke to a weight on her shoulder. "Wake up Riverpaw. We need to head out for training. I'm sorry if you are tried, but we never got the chance to practices your battle moves like yo wanted too." Riverpaw felt her mentor jump over her on his way to the entrance to the cave. She rolled over and gave a soft growl as she stretched her paws toward the sky.
She laid thinking about all that had happened since their return to the camp from their last outing. Since then they had traveled numerous miles and ended up here. Just as this thought occured to her, a large drop of water fell from a stelagtite on the celing and landed squarely in her face. Sneezing, she pulled herself to her paws and lashed her tail in annoyance, mumbling to herself about being wet.
Riverpaw padded to the entrance, stepping delicately over stray paws and tails that stuck out of balls of fur curled on the floor. She gave a soft purr and closed her eyes as the sunlight hit her fur with a burst of warmth. She had almost forgotten what it felt like to have the golden light dance on her pelt. With a start she realized that she had forgotten what she had been awoken for; and opened her eyes to look for her mentor. Finding his hearty black form with ease, she smiled at him and mewed "So where shall we train in our new home?"

Blackpanther let out a small purr. He flicked his tail across her nose. "Well, I supposed we should first find a decent area to train. Which moves do you want to work on. As promised I said you can chose what we do," Blackpanther mewed as he stood onto his paws. He headed away from he cave.
The padded through the damp ground. He flickered his tail in annoyance. There was to much water for his licking. He let out a growl. This was just stupid. There was way to much water.
Blackpanther came to an area that lacked boulders, but still sheltered a bit. The tom gave his pelt a quick shake. He sat down and looked at Riverpaw. He gave her a small smile. He stood up again and then stretched out his muscles. He didn't want to get hurt when they have such a long journey.

As Blackpanther padded along growling about water and how wet it was, Riverpaw made a game out of it. She trotted along behind him, letting her paws smack wetly against the ground causing circles of splashing water to rise up around them. Riverpaw let out a soft giggle as she trotted along. When they came to a particularly nice looking puddle, she took a leap and landed in the middle of it with a splach, spraying water in all directions. This time she couldn't hold back a full out laugh. Riverpaw didn't particularly mind being wet on a day like this, one that the sin was out to dry the water from her fur. Granted, it was a rare occasion these days, but she planned to make full use of it while it was here.
As Blackpanther led her to the spot that he saw fit to train and sat down, Riverpaw felt a thrill of excitement run down her spine. Like the water that she had been playing in, the feeling spread all over her so that she could feel it in even her toes. She loved battle training. Fighting and hunting had always been her favorite parts of learning to be a warrior.
Her attention shifted from inside her head back to the black tom sitting before her. I think that today I would like to try a new way of training Blackpanther. I would like for you to come after me as if you were an enemy cat, and see if I can handle it or not. In a sudden moment of shyness she looked at her paws and scuffed one of them on the ground. Now that she had it out it sounded silly in her ears. But after a moment she stood, walked a few paces, and sat down again a few tail lengths away; this time with her back to her mentor. Riverpaw sat silently, unmoving, ears pricked and lostening hard; listening for the moment of attack.

Blackbreeze stared at his apprentice playing in the puddles. She shook his black head at her silliness. His whiskers twitched in amusement. He looked over her went pelt and chuckled at her. "So tell me Riverpaw, when did you become a fish instead of a cat? I always though fish only like to soaked. I think your warrior name should be Riverfish or maybe just Fish." He teased his apprentice.
Blackbreeze smiled warmly at Riverpaw. He nudged her with his shoulder. "Don't go shy on me now cause I think that is a brilliant idea. It will help you gain experience and you will be more aware if you were to come into a battle. We will start off easy and then build up from there."
Blackbreeze turned around and padded away from the she-cat. When he whipped around he dropped into a evenly balance crouch. His eyes stared at her shoulders, but as he pounced he aimed fore her hind legs.
