It had been quite a long time since he had re-visited his old way of thinking. His way of thinking before he'd stepped into another life - another him. Of course you couldn't understand it, no one but the lanky tom could. He meant Dreamfeather, the Tempestclan deputy. she was the start of him. Who he was today. Who he had been for some time now. But before she had entered his life, he had been someone much darker; sinister. He had been convinced the world was just a lie, everything he saw and heard an illusion. A pessimist, sure. But his heart had been empty, leaving room for the darkness to fester. As he sat on the outskirts of one of the few make-shift Tempestclan camps, he felt the emptiness creeping up behind him. Dreamfeather, though back in his life after an absence, was distant. It killed him. And with the world they knew crashing around them Longshadow was back to his brooding thoughts. Maybe it was all a lie afterall. No, it couldn't be, could it? The love he had felt - still felt - was real. It was cracking, but real. It would never fade, but if she chose Voidstar over him it would surely shatter.
Clover green eyes flicking about his surroundings, he realized how many cats were really around him. He thought he had settled on the very outskirts. But alas, not as many familiar faces could be seen. Some were dead, missing. One he was glad to be rid of was Blackshard - that bastard was asking for death with all the treachery he had committed. Another thing Voidstar had done that pissed Longshadow off - accepting the tom into the clan. The jet black tom didn't know Wraithlight, but he knew the white warrior had been Shard's son. He was taken out by what he brought into this world. A good vengeance. The warrior nodded to himself, mind freely wandering. Though in moments time his focus was back on the silver bengal. He wondered where she was, what she was doing. He knew she had been extremely busy lately, everyone was. Longshadow could vouch for that. Even he, the least clan involved cat in what seemed the forest had helped collect brambles and prey. Just enough to keep Voidstar off his back. The very name made the hair along his spine begin to bristle. The large leader had power; he had cats to work with and time to spare. All things Longshadow wanted a lifetime ago. But now, he only cared about one thing. One she-cat. The beautiful one and only Dreamfeather. Sighing, he pushed himself to his long legs, reaching his full height in a tall stretch. He flexed his claws, feeling something between two of his toes. Spreading his paw, he used his teeth to nip a clump of earth, tugging it free and spiting it to the nettled ground. Flexing again, the pressure was gone, and he felt relief in his foot. He looked around once more, turning to walk away when a calico she-cat bumped right into him. "Watch where you're walking!" The beautiful warrior hissed, aqua marine eyes glaring at him. The black tomcat's lip curled in disgust, watching the disease-infested Cascadespray slink away. He gingerly shook himself, proceeding with more caution into the undergrowth. The pines above him let in the faint day light, clouds acting as a buffer for the sun. He didn't like it bright outside anyway. Traveling just a little further, he saw just one or two cats laying around talking quietly. Perfect. He needed quiet right now more than anything.
words: 647 Nothing fancy, haven't played him in a while. xD Creampaw will 'liven' him up a bit. LET THE COACHING BEGIN

It was as if the 'on' switch had been flipped on and there was no way to turn it off. She had thought about being a nice cat and bring a companion on her little troublemaking adventure. But alas, that would only slow her down and be quite troublesome. She had even considered bringing in her favorite accomplice, her brother. But knowing her littermate he would have just argued with her the entire time about how wrong this was and why this was not acceptable. Oh well, at least this way she could do what she wanted in peace and quite and not have Leafpaw talking her ear off. But she knew when she returned her brother would give her an earful from what she was currently doing. Then again, it was expected from the she-cat to disobey. This decision had been one of her famous ones, the last minute decisions. It had taken very little effort to pull this one off, and now that she had it was quite a rush of excitement.
Creampaw settled herself against the ground as she looked at the ball of moss spread out before her. It was large enough to play with, the perfect size for her little paws. Though she was sad she hadn't brought someone along to play with, the pale tabby had a large grin stretched across her face. She was barely six moons old and already somewhere she was not suppose to be. It had been hoped that she would outgrow this kitlike behavior when she was apprenticed, but it seems to only have gotten worse. With a mewl of delight, she felt kitlike again as she rolled around with the ball of moss. At least she was away from the other cats for a while. This would give her time to herself, and to possibly run off some of her energy. Her eyes were full of mischief as she padded along, pawing at the ball of moss to keep it rolling.

Was it just him, or did the air seem a little muggy? The lanky black tom tried to peer through the pine tops, to see if the sky was changing, but a squirrel or some such other creature rattled a branch - showering him with needles. His short fur instantly shot to a bristle, clover eyes narrowed to enraged slits. "Stupid forest," He growled among other curses, shaking his pelt to rid himself of clinging debris. Longshadow actually looked intimidating with his fur twice it's usual size and the height he already possessed. Well, he looked a little mad, in all meanings of the word. Just as he came across what seemed to be a thin, forgotten trail his foot came down on something spongy, crushing the life out of the little toy. Lifting his foot, he saw it was a ball of moss.
The scampering of tiny feet made his ears swivel, and he whipped around to face a small light cat bounding around like a moon-old kitten. The tomcat screwed his face up in disgust, tail flicking feverishly. Vertigoclan lets their kits have free-reign of the place, obviously. The tall warrior loomed above the young she-cat, hostility seething from his wiry frame. "And who do we have here? A kit playing with their pitiful ball of moss?" He jeered, sinking his unsheathed claws into the deflated tangle and bringing it closer to his face for inspection. "Looks like play time is over." The expression on his stone face wasn't a sneer, but his tone told of one stretching under the surface. This waste of time was just holding him up from important matters he had to think about, and to disrupt him caused for some equal punishment. Not a lecture, he hated giving them as much as he hated listening to himself drag on distributing them. So what was some good, fair vengeance? He stared at the apprentice with a calculating glare. The usual. Longshadow determined. The usual was his usual self, which most didn't want to be around for a reason. For some reason, that thought gave him a flashback of an earlier time - moons ago - of when the rogue queen joined Tempestclan heavy with kits. Even then, Longshadow had disliked Voidstar. For different reasons, of course. At the heart of the memory was when he was assigned to the first guard of the parasite. Who else was assigned with him but the beautiful Dreamfeather. That was the first encounter.
He had tried to play with her mind, thinking it no different than any other cat's. He had planted the seed of distrust, trying to convince her of possible treachery on their leader's part. Telling her ill things of the muscular black tom. But his seed was rejected by the pure earth of her mind, and was cast out to the surface to be taken way by the wind to a different place. This was what had intrigued him. At that time he knew that meeting would not be their last. Nor was it. Looking down at Creampaw, the lengthy cat felt like he had missed something as he had been reminiscing. This made him defensive, though she had no idea what had just undergone inside his head. He still felt transparent. It was probably just all the emotions he'd experienced as of late - making him act like a queen. Shaking his head with the slightest movement, he snorted and tossed her ball of moss off into the bushes carelessly. "Dangerous things lurk in these woods, no matter if you call them home. Things with gnashing teeth that would break your bones and swallow you in a single bite," His meow was menacing and cold. "Or things with huge talons that would dig into your sides and carry a cat like you far away, to it's nest where it would peck you to pieces." Longshadow inched closer with a paw step, lowering his head to her tiny level. "And even things in the shadows - things, far more dangerous than any of those. Things you think you know, that look familiar, but really they're just waiting for you to look the other way." He was trying to scare her, and what he said wasn't untrue. The tom hadn't tried story telling, but he hadn't done half bad. His long tail lashed, eyes glinting as he waited impatiently for some irritable reply.
FINALLY REPLIED YAY. xDD
