And just like that, winter melted right into spring, transforming the moors from a frozen wasteland of stiff, upright grasses to a muddy and somewhat disgusting existence, though after all the cold, Orioleflash didn't seem to mind as much this year. The mud did seem a bit too plentiful though, and the stream swelled with the dirtied water of the melted snow, deeming portions of the water tainted and undrinkable.
As she paused for a drink nearby a small trickling that formed a diminutive waterfall over a few rocks, the small calico she-cat allowed gravity to filter the water for her, lapping at the cool surface of the flowing water with her pink tongue. It was soothing to the touch, and Orioleflash longed for the days to grow even warmer so that she could take to basking in the sun by the lake and even dipping her toes in and taking the occasional plunge.
Shivering with a quiet anticipation for the seasons to come, Orioleflash had actually been found in a mood that didn't require the whole of StarClan to soothe, and a small smirk made its way across her multi-colored maw. Stepping back from the tributary to the grandiose lake, Orioleflash misstepped, her paw slipping right into a squishy puddle of mud, rather more dirt than water, sticking right to her short fur and allowing opportunity for a grimace to come across her face.
"Eugh!" She grunted, shaking her paw and immediately stepping back to wipe it off in some grass, frowning with extreme displeasure. As if to make matters just a tad bit worse, she caught scent of a clanmate, and a tom, for that matter, and squinting off into the distance she recognized the tabby form to be Rabbitnose, whom she hadn't really spoken to since they had last been skiiing on the ice during winter.
As she pondered whether or not to say hello, she decided she'd rather continue frowning and allowing his approach to be greeting enough. He was a friendly boy, so she waited patiently for his arrival and his greeting, knowing very well that he'd say something sweet like he always did, though Orioleflash knew him better than to swoon over his words. It was how he treated everyone, but it was still nice to treat everyone nicely. Shrugging, the calico warrior waited, her saffron eyes on him as he closed the distance between them.
