Oh oh oh, The tom fretted, gazing at first startled but now simply gazing, quite well shocked, after where Bluefire had run off to, having become little more than a speck until she disappeared altogether in a patch of trees across the moor. What could he even do? He knew for sure he didn't love her, though he surely liked her a lot! But love? That was a rare emotion, and he hardly knew her as anything more than a clanmate, a simple acquaintence. What now? Of course he had to go after her! He cast Orioleflash and Infernochaser an apologetic look, blinking dolefully before he turned and darted off across the grasslands after the silver tabby's scent that trailed over the territory. Finally, he came across her slumbering form, not far from the lake. She looked rather soaked, and the thought of being in the lake at all made him shiver. It was winter! Good StarClan above! Quietly, he trotted over to where she lay and curled him near her, silently moving a forepaw to nudge her awake. "Bluefire? Can we, uh, talk?" He inquired nervously, not wanting to embarrass her.

BlueFire felt a paw prod her. She immediently sat alert. "Oh, Rabbitnose.... hi." the dark tom spoke, "Bluefire? Can we, uh, talk?" she was stunned and rather cold. "Uh, sure. What comes to mind?" she asked, tilting her head. A breeze blew over them. The pale tabby shivered. "Why did I jump into the lake?" she asked herself. She knew that it was leaf-bare. Perhaps in a fit of rage and embarrassment? Who knew? Her mind was spinning. "What will Inferno and Oriole think when the find out that you left them?" She asked the tom. "What is he going to say?" She wondered. She sucked in her breath. There was a long silence in between the two cats.

He was startled as she instantly sat up, and sat up as well, looking anywhere but her eyes. "I..." What comes to mind? He was shocked with this simple remark, as if she had forgotten all about what she had said. "Well, I mean-" He started, but trailed off, not sure what to say if she was just pretending she hadn't blurted out that rather bizarre declaration just a little while ago. "Oh, them." He smiled and shrugged, "You seemed pretty upset. I'm sure they'll understand that I want to help you, and I think they were ready to head back to camp anyway. I wouldn't worry about what they think, but I am a little worried about you." Rabbitnose murmured, concern painting his soft green eyes, "Are you alright? I mean... what's going on? Why did you say that? You can't really, erm..."
The tabby gazed away from the she-cat, off across the lake and into the distance. "I guess I'm just trying to figure out what you mean by it. I mean we're friends, but I don't really know you that well, you know?" The warrior asked, blinking and curling his tail up as a shiver passed beneath his thick winter coat. "It's not to say I don't like you, because I really really do! You're a very pretty and talented girl of course! And I love you as a friend would love another, but if we were to ever be anything more.... Well, I'd just need time." He concluded, releasing the breath he had been holding in a tense rush. | |

"Oh sorry. " the pale tabby responded. "I couldn't hold it in any longer.... I-I had........" she trailed off and stared into the woods. She got up and walked into the woods, her tail drooped and her head blow her shoulders. "Oh, what a fool I've been." she thought. "Ohhhh, stupid, stupid, STUIPID bluefire, STUPID! You just ruined your relationship chance. It just flew out the door like a pet canary. Ugh, he probably thinks that you are a desperate, lonely, she-cat." She sighed and tears started to stream down her face.

"No, no please talk to me!" He called after her rather hopelessly as she departed once more. Of course, Rabbitnose saw no other option but to pursue her again, and stood to dart after her into the grove, where the tall trees shrouded her but not yet completely, and he found her trail easily. Tracking the female along, he finally came across her, and bit his lip unhappily. "Bluefire please!" The tall tabby begged, green eyed pleading her just as much as his words would convey. "Oh, oh don't cry. We can work something out can't we? I like you a lot! You're a lovely lass but you know, it's all too quick! Blue you hardly know me. Can't we take some time to be friends first?" Rabbitnose asked, broad face upset when he saw how unhappy he had made her, and wishing there was a way to fix the situation. The tom drew closer to her and rested his tail on her shoulder, nudging her lightly while he mustered up a faint smile. "Come on you silly girl, cheer up would you? For me? I hate to see you so down! What can I do to help?" | |

She sat with her head low and her tail wrapped around her paws. She thought once more, "Ohhhh, stupid, stupid, STUIPID bluefire, STUPID! You just ruined your relationship chance. It just flew out the door like a pet canary. Ugh, he probably thinks that you are a desperate, lonely, she-cat." She felt foolish. Her mind told her to respond to the legged tom's speech. She sobbed, "I-I...." then she burst into tears once more. Finally she gathered herself and told him her thoughts. "You probably think that I'm are a desperate, lonely, she-cat, don't you?" she let the air escape from her lungs.

Rabbitnose shook his head, as though shaking away a particularly irksome fly. His clanmate certainly was being frustrating! The tom felt flustered by her lack of response, as though all she could do was flip out, and because of it he wanted to snap her out of it-- it seemed hopeless though, like she was a lost case. Still, he certainly didn't just want to give up on her, because he thought just maybe if he could convince her to stop beating herself up over something so petty, then they could be friends! Nevertheless, Bluefire seemed intent on staying upset, and Rabbitnose wasn't sure there was much he could do about it, and he frowned at her. "Bluefire please stop freaking out and listen to me!" He cried, lashing his tail once to show his frustration. "What have I been trying to say this whole time? C'mon now! I haven't even hinted at anything of the sort! I told you I like you, and I think you're great and yadda yadda yadda! I just wanna know how I can help, okay? Now calm down would you?" He asked, placing a forepaw on her shoulder firmly, "Please? Bluefire stopped sobbing, took a deep breath, and listened. Voice shaky, she spoke, "I'm so confused!" she nodded her head and looked at her paws. A chilly breeze combed through her pale grey tabby fur, causing her to shiver. She curled her ringed tali neatly around her dainty white paws.
