SOMETIMES I FIND IT HARD• to believe there's someone else who could be •JUST AS MESSED UP AS ME Can you see what I'm doing? Might not think much, but I still think. Hopefully you can hear me talking.
Morning had long since come and gone, the sun's arcing path through the blue sky already completed and closing in on its end. Evening was closing in, with the sun dipping silently closer towards the treetops. There was still plenty of light out, though; especially for the tabby tom padding happily across the steep-sloping ground. True, it was hard work, as he wasn't particularly used to working his way across such terrain, but he could manage. The new sights were completely worth any energy expended in reaching his goal. It was a nice day, even with the cold and the snow; Loon was simply glad to have wandered beyond Trenton for the first time in moons. Exploring was common for the ever-mobile loner, he never found himself sticking in any one area for long. This place, though, with its unique town and wilderness not far out had kept a strong hold on the cat's interests. While normally he'd have grown bored after two or three months, this area had kept him interested for seasons.
Curiously enough, the thought had never struck him to make an excursion into the forested area beyond the main town. He'd always known the woods were near, had always planned on venturing into them, but it had taken a cold winter day to drive him into the trees. Loon had been hesitant at first, sniffing cautiously at the pungent scent lines marking a clear border. Maybe the cats didn't want visitors. But a closer inspection told the tom that cats not smelling like the border's scent had crossed before. They must have simply been put there to mark out a home space. Besides, the forest looked so interesting it was impossible to resist ignoring the markings. So he'd stepped across and begun a fresh adventure.
Admittedly, he was little bit lost. But being lost was a fairly common occurrence for Loon.
There was a little stream he'd come across cutting through the forest, and now he clung to its path. It was the smartest course of action, and the young feline planned on keeping with it. The stream had to go somewhere, and sooner or later it would exit the woods. Once it did that, the tabby was sure he could skirt its edges and find his way back to the alleyways where he made his residence. That was for later, though; when it was fully dark out. There was still some sunlight left at the moment to better light the path, and untold adventures awaited at every turn. 'It's just too much to pass up, even though I could come back another day.' A rustling overhead called for the tabby's attention, and, turning his amber gaze upward, the cat was thrilled to spot a squirrel making its way down the chilled bark. It was different from the Trenton squirrels, scrawnier and more wild looking. 'Poor thing probably doesn't eat as much as the ones living off Upwalker scraps.' The tom crouched, readying himself to pounce at the prey.

A familiar face... The squirrel was succulent and mouth watered from the tom's jaw as he imagined taking this back to his Clan. Reluctantly, he had joined this clan of his, CelestialClan as it was called. He hated half the cats in it, but the leader wasn't all bad. He tried to stay on his good side. Hallowstar, well, he just stayed out of his hair. As for the deputy, Falconflight-he seemed like a decent cat. Maybe they'd be friends one day. Well, no she-cat had tempted his flavor, except for one, who he kept a good eye on the whole time. She was too pretty not to be tempered with, but at the same time, she was odd. That story was for another day though. He wanted to be of some use to his Clan, shocker right? He hated being useful to other cats. Yet somehow, this Clan was different, he had a....what was the word....family? Yeah that. He didn't miss Trenton much, or Jackson for that matter. CelestialClan gave him a real home that he looked forward to coming back to. Maybe this wild thing was just what he wanted this whole time. Anyways, after all, it was leaf-bare, the Clan was pretty hungry as it was and this squirrel would do greatly for his hunting expedition. He had only caught a measly mouse earlier today and this was his second attempt at hunting, some of the cats hated him in the Clan, so what, but they did blame him for the shortage of prey. It wasn't his fault the prey didn't leap into their death as he would so wish it. Now sighting the squirrel, he felt the white snow underpaw, but when he looked up again, he saw another flash of color against the bright terrain. Jaggedmoon scented the air, but all he caught was a loner scent. Really? Loners on his territory? They'll pay. Jaggedmoon bunched up his muscles when he saw the cat, it was a tom yes, but it was a brown tom with copper eyes. Something unsettling came to Jaggedmoon's stomach, but he ignored it. He could not know this cat at all. Could he? Getting into his pouncing stature, he leaped out from where he hid, flung up the squirrel and bit down on its neck hard to kill it. Then he turned with a heated glare and looked straight on at the cat. "Trying to steal prey were you? From my territory?" he challengingly hissed. Jagged. Her paws were light as they raced upon the dusting of snow, the scent of two toms intertwining with the hint of CelestialClan over everything. Roseblush's silvery grey-blue eyes caught the light as it shimmered down from the sun, catching everything and throwing it in with a bluish tint. Leaf-bare was something the female could grow to tolerate over the next seasons of her life, but this was only the second one she'd lived through and that seemed to be enough for her.
With a shudder, she slowed her pace as her ears pricked as a tom spoke. "Trying to steal prey were you? From my territory?
" Was the hiss that came from her new clanmate, and Roseblush frowned and padded closer to the scene. " Now, Jaggedmoon, it's not right to directly challenge someone, especially in the middle of leaf-bare. Now," The young she-cat turned to the tabby tom, her eyes curious, a small smile flashing across her pale pointed features. " You look to be a bit lost." She mewed kindly, offering up a sort of explanation while flicking her tail behind her lightly, holding back the instinct to flick Jaggedmoon right on the nose or even the tip of his ear. Peering around at the squirrel lying dead at Jaggedmoon's feet, she blinked confusedly at the two of them. " Really, no crime ahs been commited, you two. You've rightfully killed a squirrel on CelestialClan land, Jaggedmoon. I know I'm in no position to scold, but you were a loner yourself once. Didn't you get hungry on the streets? And plus, there's still plant life out here in places and our squirrels still hold a bit more life and vibrance." Roseblush uttered in her smooth, even tone, nodding lightly as she spoke, hoping no one would find anything wrong in the words she spoke. At near thirteen moons, she knew it wasn't any of her business, but she knew the ways of the Clan a bit better than the both of them. Plus, she didn't want anyone to suffer.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

The cat was ready to spring, muscles tightly coiled together in preparation for the leap that would close the distance between himself and the tree-climbing rodent. Technically, he could have waited to eat until he found his way back to town, but the red-gray squirrel was just too tempting. Forest squirrel, who knew how different it would taste to the city ones that lazed about the human yards and parks. A pale pink tongue swiped eagerly across his teeth as he shifted his weight. The animal was oblivious to its impending doom. Just as Loon was about to jump, the branches of some nearby bushes parted to reveal another cat who'd been hiding. A gray tabby with patches of white; the new tom was quick to dispatch the squirrel with a neat bite, and turned to glare pointedly at the brown tabby. Loon blinked in surprise as he surveyed the angry feline, those golden eyes seemed oddly familiar.
It was impolite to stare, he knew all too well, but the young male couldn't help himself. He recognized this cat's looks, if not his smell. 'Tawny eyes, tabby and white... where've I seen 'im before?' It was as the hunter spoke that Loon recognized him. "Lincoln, is that you?" he asked joyfully, and utterly oblivious to the serious implications behind his old acquaintance's challenge. "This is where you live now? It's really nice, but you don't smell quite like the markings I crossed over earlier." The brown loner shook his head in bemusement. Loon had more or less forgotten his meeting with Lincoln on the rooftops that one time in Trenton. Curious that he'd come to live in such a place, though it was pleasant enough to be sure. He looked away from the other tom, distracted by a new rustling as a pretty, young she-cat made her way towards them. The fairer pelted female was far more level-headed, although her attention, too, seemed primarily directed towards the squirrel as the cause of the situation at hand.
"Was I... not supposed to be hunting here? If that's the case, sorry. I didn't know anyone had claim on the forest," the apology was quick to form. Everyone in Trenton could hunt where they pleased, so long as they weren't stealing someone else's already made kill. He smiled pleasantly at the kind she-cat. "My name's Loon, it's nice to meet you. Who are you? Why do you keep calling Lincoln 'Jaggedmoon'?" It took some effort to stem his questions, he was always full of them. There was so much world to see, so much to learn. But he could overwhelm others with his inquiries, as he had before. Better to start out with the simple ones then work to the more complex later.

Suddenly Jaggedmoon breathed out against the cold with a gasp. A purr rumbled deep in his throat. Of course! This tom, though strangely unfamiliar yet familiar all the same, was Loon! He met him in Trenton back when he lived there. Though somewhat irritable the tom was, he still was kind enough to show Jaggedmoon around. Wait, his name was Lincoln before Jaggedmoon. Lincoln and Loon, though not quite friends, still knew each other well enough. In Lincoln-er-Jaggedmoon's eyes, Loon was a friend. Casting a glare over at the newly acquainted warrior, Roseblush, Jaggedmoon tried to resist the urge to hiss in her face. Of course he was a loner once, that was no secret. But it shouldn't be a secret to anyone in CelestialClan that he hated she-cats either. They were stupid and undeserving of a tom's eye. Especially Roseblush. She thought she was as great as Firelily thought herself to be. Jaggedmoon didn't need to know the two she-cats personally to assume what they were like. He just knew. Butting aside Roseblush's comments, Jaggedmoon spoke up. "Loon! It's very great to see you. Sorry I snapped in your face." He added awkwardly. Sweeping himself over the white snow, he sat himself down next to the grey, brown tom. "Yes, I live in this territory now. I decided that living with a bunch of other cats, which is what I do now, suits me better than making my way through Trenton and then to other locations. I've seen a lot of the world and I prefer this way of living more." Actually, now that he thought about it, he hadn't seen Loon in a long time. It's been several moons since he'd become a warrior of CelestialClan. He'd almost forgotten his name. Lincoln, that name sounded weird in his head. Jaggedmoon was his new name. "By the way, Loon, I've only been living here in CelestialClan, that's what our clan's name is, for a short time. Only a few moons since I met you. This she-cat," he lashed his tail over to the cream warrior, "This she-cat calls me Jaggedmoon because that's my name now. I'm not called Lincoln anymore, as weird as that is." he said with ease, half glaring at Roseblush through a corner slit in his eye. What did she even want? Jagged.moon.You treat me right, you treat me wrong You make me weak, you make me strong Sometimes I love to hate you.

Immediately, as soon as the toms began speaking to each other, Roseblush felt a wave of embarrassment come crashing down over her. Her silvery blue eyes wide and her expression utterly stunned, she choked slightly on her words as she tried to speak. "I-er-uh-I..I..
" Were the struggling words coming out of her mouth, and then she stamped her foot and glared at Jaggedmoon. " There is no reason to treat me like I'm stupid! How was I supposed to know?" She spat at her clanmate, her expression growing cross and her jaws clamping shut after she spoke. Turning to the other tom, the young CelestialClan female attempted to swallow her exasperation and put on a friendly face. " Really, I'm sorry, I just thought.. I.. Well really, how would I know?" Roseblush told him, confused as ever and feeling completely out of sorts. She was embarrassed beyond belief and now she was making a total fool out of herself. She stepped backward, sitting down neatly and closed her eyes, trying to block all of the thoughts running through her head. " I'm Roseblush, by the way." The softly colored female muttered to Loon, her eyes looking down at her paws as she shivered slightly from a change in the wind. " It's nice to meet you too, Loon, now if you don't mind I'll just find a nice cliff and throw myself off, alright?" The she-cat meowed, half-pleasantly. She felt downright stupid, and Jaggedmoon really didn't have to treat her like that. Biting back all the words she wished she had screeched at him, she lashed her tail back and forth and remained silent, praying to StarClan she wouldn't do anything else stupid.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

SOMETIMES I FIND IT HARD• to believe there's someone else who could be •JUST AS MESSED UP AS ME Can you see what I'm doing? Might not think much, but I still think. Hopefully you can hear me talking.
A warm smile pulled up on Loon's face as he saw the light of recognition enter Lincoln's -Jaggedmoon's?- tawny gaze. 'I knew he wouldn't so easily forget my face. After all, it's only been a few moons since we met.' He liked it when others remembered him, so many forgot who he was. It was always a frustration to walk up to someone only to have them insist that they'd never met him before in their lives. It happened mind-bogglingly often in Trenton. Kittypets and loners alike, they just never recognized him. True, he couldn't quite get their name down, but the brown tom was sure he could recognize the face of a cat he'd had a chat with before. He listened eagerly to the explanation his one-time companion gave, watching the tension in the older tom's muscles seep away as he slowly grew more comfortable with the loner's intrusion. Still, his hackles would bristle slightly whenever he gave a glance towards the cream-coloured she-cat. How odd.
Loon let his copper gaze flit to the female as a look of discomfort struck her features. He swallowed down a purr of amusement at the sudden change in demeanor, after all it would be rude even if he did find the quick transition funny. Some cats didn't like it. He had a scar on his nose from one nervous cat to prove the point. Still, his smile widened into a partial grin that he hoped would make the Celestialclan warrior feel more at ease. "So then the rumors are true," he said to Jaggedmoon -that new name would take some getting used to- in astonishment. "I thought that the kittypets were exaggerating when they said there were fierce cats living in the forest." He was thrilled to find out this little piece of information, and the excitement was clear in his tone. He couldn't wait to get back home now, he'd have to find another loner to tell this. Real life forest cats, and he knew one of them personally!
"Roseblush," he repeated, committing the name to memory with a short nod. "It's a pretty name." Maybe compliments were the best way to make her feel better, sometimes that worked best. The young tom didn't understand why things seemed so tense between the pale female and Jaggedmoon. If the two of them lived in the same home then it seemed sensible that they'd get along well enough. Instead it seemed like neither of them wanted to be near each other. His jaws parted to inquire about the discomfort when Roseblush continued speaking, and thoughts of asking what was wrong died in his throat. "No, you can't throw yourself off a cliff!" His voice rose in shock at the idea, which he took all too literally, eyes widening in disbelief. He shot a pleading look at Jaggedmoon. "You wouldn't let her do that, right Lin - Jaggedmoon? I mean, clanmates wouldn't let something like that happen?"

Ever wonder why we're here?
Falconflight padded quietly around the territory, when he heard a few voices. He recognized Jaggedmoon, and Roseblush. Roseblush. Good. But the other cat.. that one he didn't know. His grey fur rippled as he padded over to the cats. He was right. Two familiar cats, and one he didn't know. From the scent, the strange one was a loner. Jaggedmoon seemed familiar with him. Not so weird since he had formerly been a loner himself. But didn't he know that even so, he shouldn't just let them stroll onto the territory.
"Hello you three. Roseblush, Jaggedmoon and..." He glanced at Loon. "Sorry I don't know your name. I'm Falconflight, deputy of CeletsialClan." His dusty green eyes scanned Loon. He didn't look dangerous, though not completely harmless either. The large grey cat blinked and glanced at his friends. "Jaggedmon, do you know this cat?" Looking concerned, Falconflight sat down and curled his tail. "We need your ful loyalty for you to be in this clan. We cannot have close friendships outside of the clan. Even with loners." The big grey tom glanced at Rosebush, and smiled softly. Looking again tp Jaggedmoon and Loon he began flicking his tail from side to side. Waiting for answers from both.

"Of course I wouldn't Loon," Jaggedmoon said quietly, letting his tail flick Loon's shoulder. As much as he hated she-cats, why would he let Roseblush kill herself? Ugh, females were so dramatic it was almost pathetic. Whatever, he couldn't have the cream she-cat die, they needed cats in CelestialClan. Besides, Roseblush was a strong, young warrior-she'd last longer. "Clanmates would defend one another at the cost of their life. I would fight for her easily even if we had had arguments in the past or not." Jaggedmoon said with ease, nodding slightly to the cream-furred cat. He hated she-cats. It was a fact. But what he said was true. He would defend Roseblush at the cost of his life even he didn't like her at all. He was a warrior, defined by loyalty and not hatred. Jaggedmoon turned his head, however, when he scented a new cat coming towards them. Looking on, he saw the deputy of CelestialClan, coming into view. Falconflight was his name. He was alright to talk too, but for the most part, he irritated the crap out of Jaggedmoon. He, Firelily, and some others just put Jaggedmoon on end and he hardly ever spoke to them. A snarl rose in the back of his throat when Falconflight mentioned his disloyalty. Of course he wasn't pleasant, but really who was in this freezing cold weather? But when cats questioned his loyalty, well, let's just say they made the hit-list in Jaggedmoon's head. "You need not worry about my loyalty Falconflight." If you don't trust me maybe I should just get the hell out of your clan. he thought hatefully. "If you don't mind, I'd like to make a full opinion here, Loon is a good friend and should be welcomed without chance, you know I'm not the only loner in this clan. Why insult me when you could be tempted to with Garnetbone. Or should I say Echer." Jaggedmoon continued before taking in a sharp breath and sitting down next to Loon, facing Falconflight and Roseblush. Of course, he noticed the quick look the deputy gave the young warrior. He actually saw something in her? Wow, what a freak. Jaggedmoon always had a glare on his face, but right now he felt a whole bunch of feelings packed into his stare. If they tried to hurt him or Loon, he'd fight...wouldn't he? Jagged.moon.You treat me right, you treat me wrong You make me weak, you make me strong Sometimes I love to hate you. Heat rushing across her face in one quick wave, the rosy colored female stumbled back a step, listening to the words shared between this stranger and her clanmates. "Er, I-
" She mumbled to the toms, before her eyes widened at Loon, his compliment striking her off guard, but in a pleasant way. She wasn't one to gush, but she also wasn't one used to compliments. Her face absolutely burning at that point, the she-cat stared at him curiously. " Thank you, Loon." Awkwardly dipping her head as her gaze dropped toward the ground as another tom approached, one that Roseblush respected. As their deputy entered the small the gathering between the few of them, she looked to him and smiled, acknowledging his greeting with a simple dip of her head. What would happen now with these antsy toms? Sneaking a glimpse at Loon, she kept her silver blue gaze traveling between each of them, feeling as if she was caught up in it all. As if she was in the wrong place at the right time. ooc: LOL, rose is so the odd one out now. xD[/blockquote][/blockquote]

The tom exhaled quietly, visibly sagging with relief as his old companion confirmed that Roseblush wouldn't simply be allowed to throw herself of a cliff. That was good, at least. 'What kind of family would just let cats run off and hurt themselves?' Luckily not this clan, then. He perked up curiously as the tabby went on to explain a bit of how things worked in Celestialclan. It sounded interesting to say the least; it must have been nice to know there was always someone to rely on when you were in a tight spot. How many times had he been in trouble that could have been solved with the assistance of another cat. Loon had no idea, although he distinctly remembered one time with a dog trapping him inside an old abandoned house. A slight shudder ran down his spine. That had been an unpleasant experience. "That sounds really nice, Jaggedmoon! I'm glad you found a good place to settle down." The brown tabby knew such a life was not for him, although it did sound like a good adventure. He needed freedom to go where he liked.
Copper eyes blinked as a third stranger came along, this one a gray cat that looked rather drab standing next to the cream-hued Roseblush. He smelled like Roseblush and Jaggedmoon, but had an air of power about him that called for some respect. The new cat looked wary, though not hostile, as he glanced over Loon before introducing himself as Falconflight. The term "deputy" meant nothing to Loon; he supposed it meant he was high up in Celestialclan. "What's a deputy?" he blurted out before he could think of a better way to phrase the question. "Er- and, nice to meet you." He was about to give his own name in return when Jaggedmoon broke in, sounding annoyed. Once again there were more foreign names, and an argument looked like it might break out. Oh dear, now what had he started? The young loner found himself inching slightly away from the two other toms and towards the only she-cat in the group, as she seemed just as baffled by the exchange as he was. "H-have I done something wrong? If I really shouldn't be here, then I'll leave," he said gently, afraid that something bad might happen if he raised his voice too much.
