WELL, EVERYTHING YOU EVER SAID TO ME, IT WASN'T JUST WORDS, NO "You say we’ll never make my parents mistakes."
And so with the ceremonial words spoken, four apprentices became warriors. There was Glenpaw, sleek pelted, and stubborn; he was named Glenshade. There was Shockpaw, determined; her name had been called, "Shockflare!" There was Rosepaw, the pretty, long limbed apprentice that had alerted the clan to Hailghost's treachery; she was proclaimed Roseblush. And lastly, Crystalpaw, her own apprentice, a quiet but beautiful she-cat. Rightfully, she was now named Crystalbreeze. Fatesong saw great things ahead of the four new warriors. The ceremony had ended not long ago, and it was time for them to go and sit vigil. With the motherly spirit only a rogue that had fought to save her kits could possess, she had touched noses with each of them in turn, even Glenshade. Afterwards, she had prompted her own son, Veilpaw, to approach and congratulate them all. How she hoped that he could make some friends among the young cats. He seemed so lonely, with only his sister and brother to keep him company. Fatesong wasn't going to push him too hard, though. She wanted only the best for Veilpaw, and for her other kits, Rowanpaw and Dewpaw. Even now, they were her everything; sometimes, she was afraid that she cared too deeply for her offspring. But she couldn't help it; Fatesong was terrified of losing them. With every new task they were faced with, there were new dangers, too. She worried incessantly for their health.
There were others on her mind, though, as the night grew deeper and the sky filled with stars. Not long after the ceremony, a tom leaped from the leader's rock and sat beside her. Most of the other cats were already heading off to their dens, as she sat in the emptying clearing that was Celestialclan camp. How'd I do? She knew that this was Hallowstar's first warrior ceremony as leader, and she had felt his nervousness even as he spoke confidently from high above them. Turning to gaze at him with bright yellow eyes, she noted two things; for one, there was a tuft of siamese fur sticking straight up on his head, and she longed to make it flat. For another, however, Fatesong noticed that he was avoiding her eyes. She smiled serenely, feeling at ease in his company and deciding not to ask what was wrong for now. "You did excellent, Hallowstar." The ebony female mewed sincerely. She saw Veilpaw hesitate in front of the apprentice's den, turning to look back at her. With a faint flash of her yellow eyes, she swept her tail toward him in a gesture that he ought to be off to bed. She thought she caught him grumbling faintly to himself, before he turned and vanished into the ferns. Fatesong purred in good temper, watching her son disappear. "There should be no doubt in any cat's mind now that you are the rightful leader of Celestialclan."

˚˚Hallowstar \ If today was your last day And tomorrow was too late Could you say good-bye to yesterday? As he sat next to the pretty black she-cat, his fur felt hot under her words. "There should be no doubt in any cat's mind now that you are the rightful leader of CelestialClan." He turned and gently licked her over her ear. Quite lovely was she indeed. letting out a soft purr, Hallowstar's Siamese fur slowly faded from the heat. Yet it was so cold, he was almost sad that the warmth faded. "That means a lot, Fatesong. Thank you," his icy blue eyes looked down into hers, his blood rushing up to his ears. How could she dance around on his affections without him realizing? Letting out a soft sigh, the great Siamese looked up to Silverpelt above. Night was slowly creeping up on the cats and the newly made warriors had taken up a spot nearby to guard the camp. Glenshade, Roseblush, and Crystalbreeze stood close together, while Shockflare stood away from the three of them. It seemed odd that of all the apprentices in any of the Clans, CelestialClan apprentices found the most trouble at getting along with one another. He flicked his left ear though and gazed back at his peaceful camp. Sometimes he found it almost...too peaceful. Lately, he'd been having strange dreams. He'd be on a patrol with cats behind him that he never recognized in time because the next thing he knew, he was standing in a pool of blood and a lofty shape would be streaking towards him. The leader would try to open his mouth into a warning yowl, but then he'd be slashed with vicious claws. He'd always do the same thing in falling over, glancing back up and seeing a StarClan warrior shaking his head in fear before running away from him. It was like the entire StarClan were against him and it made him scared. He hadn't told anyone of his dreams, thinking it was just a minor issue in his eating habits, but lately Hallowstar was becoming more haunted by the minute. The battle with TempestClan was over, but why did he dream in fear? He blinked away the terrible vision and glanced back over to Fatesong. "Fatesong, I've always been curious, and feel free to scratch me if I ask something wrong, but do you ever think it to be possible for you to fall in love again? Or was what you had with....with the kits' father, well was it a one time thing and you didn't actually love him?"

WELL, EVERYTHING YOU EVER SAID TO ME, IT WASN'T JUST WORDS, NO "You say we’ll never make my parents mistakes."
Rather startled by his sudden show of affection, the she-cat forced herself not to flinch. Why did she have to be like this? So jumpy. So easily surprised. Always on her guard. It's because he's still out there. Fatesong relaxed. What did she have to worry about with Hallowstar? When she was standing beside him, she was protected. Whatever it was, it didn't seem like much could touch the tightly strung she-cat when she was talking to the siamese. He reminded her to take a breath, that things would go on. Because he's the leader of Celestialclan, that is... She reminded herself of this fact hastily, feeling her own fur grow rather warm. There wasn't any other reason to feel such sanctuary with him, was there? She met his azure lights with a small flush of embarrassment. Could he possibly know how she was feeling? Did she know what she was feeling? It wouldn't be the first time... but that was... a different circumstance. And with that, she felt a burn deep in her stomach. It wasn't common knowledge that she was a full-blood Delirium warrior; nor that her sons and daughter were half blooded. Some cats knew, and she hadn't told her kits to keep it a secret exactly... but she wasn't sure if Hallowstar himself knew it. She had come to the clan before he was leader. I belong here now, no matter what. But even though Fatesong told herself that, it was hard to brush off the small part of her that still belonged to that blood thirsty clan. Sometimes, her life in Delirium and her life in Celestialclan felt totally different, like she had been a completely other cat before she had kitted. But others, it felt like she was just biding her time here in Celestialclan. She was still struggling to truly belong.
Fatesong tried to keep her face impassive. She didn't want herself to be readable, like an open book. Ruin would've clawed my ears for being such a fool. She thought dismally, watching the leader as he gazed up into the night sky. But he's dead now. He's not part of my life anymore. It was time to let go of the past, and just keep moving on while she still had momentum. She had to let go of the ghosts, the bad dreams, the little fears. Fatesong had to be strong. She was a new cat now. "I will never kill again..." Whispered the ebony female, in such a soft voice that it could barely be heard by herself at all. She glanced at the leader, to check if he had been listening to her, but he didn't seem to have heard. That was fine. She wasn't quite ready to tell him about that part of her yet.
"Fatesong, I've always been curious, and feel free to scratch me if I ask something wrong, but do you ever think it to be possible for you to fall in love again? Or was what you had with....with the kits' father, well was it a one time thing and you didn't actually love him?" She jumped at his sudden inquiry, then inwardly cursed herself, and slowly turned to look back at Hallowstar, who was also looking at her. "Scratch you?" She smirked, and the tip of her tail twitched by his foot, brushing the dark brown toes. "I wouldn't dream of it." Though she seemed calm, her heart was beating quickly and she felt as if she were stalling for time. She had been trying to forget about her past, but then he had brought it back to the surface. She had never spoken of her kit's father before, but now... so close to Hallowstar, beneath a starry sky... it felt right to do so. "I did love Conrad," She murmured, voice lowering. "But he hurt me." She glanced at her paws. "And I'm scared, Hallowstar. I don't want to get hurt again. But love... is an irresistible force."
Silence hung in the air for a short moment after her words, and she felt as if they had been rather corny, even if they had been real to her. The truth, at last. Feeling awkward, Fatesong meowed distractedly, "Have you ever loved anyone?"

˚˚Hallowstar If today was your last day And tomorrow was too late Could you say good-bye to yesterday? Hallowstar sat back from her, surprising himself with his sudden urge to show affection. He himself is confused by this strong feeling. He's not usually like this. Is he? Hallowstar ignored that conscious doubt in his mind and remained sitting, listening to Fatesong speak of Conrad, this tom that hurt her. Unconsciously, it made Hallowstar's claws slide out and pierce the ground. The great Siamese looked at the onyx colored she-cat and let out softly, mostly to himself, but enough for her to hear, "I would never try to hurt you, Fatesong." And then he continued to listen to her. "Have you ever loved anyone?" She asked him and Hallowstar blinked himself away from her for a moment to think of someone he once loved. Now that he thought about it, he had never felt true love. There were plenty of cats he did love, but not in the sense that he wanted to be their mate or anything like that. He loved his apprentice Oakpaw that he had had when he was Hallowflight, but Oakpaw was killed by a fox. Sometimes Oakpaw walked in his dreams at night. And of course, his sister Wildleaf, who was killed by a badger that was living on their territory. He missed her very much and when her death came too quickly, he grieved for a long time. In a sense, he missed Wildleaf the most out of anyone he came to love, even though Wildleaf was just his sister. Hallowstar blinked and brought himself back out of the past and took in a small sigh, "To answer your question, Fatesong, I have loved someone. Not in the sense of a mate or anything like that, but I loved my sister very much. We were extremely close as littermates. Wildleaf, my sister, was more quieter when we were younger, but on her naming ceremony she became a fiery she-cat that would fight for anything her heart set in her mind. I was always so close to her, but then a badger came into CelestialClan territory and she went off to fight it with a patrol I wasn't part of. When the patrol came back, Wildleaf wasn't among them. The badger took her life too quickly and I-I-well, I grieved for a long time. I still think of her often, but I miss her deeply." The words were spilling out as the Siamese leader told Fatesong everything. He kept looking down, and up, and over his shoulder, but he never really looked into her yellow gaze. He didn't want to be sad that he'd have to wait many moons before seeing Wildleaf ever again and he didn't want to remember the beautiful sister he loved was gone. "So in terms of love, I guess it's Wildleaf that will always be watching over me because she was the closest thing to home for me. Although, I suppose the hole in my heart will be filled again by someone just as important, if not more. I wait for that day to come." Hallowstar picked up his head from looking at his brown paws and then turned his sapphire gaze into the ebony she-cat's yellow eyes. He perked up to look like the stronger leader he was and hoped that the whole trip to the past wasn't too dramatic, but he literally felt like he was carrying himself out of the ashes and always had to unhinge the load from his shoulders. At least he had a friend to help the pain go away.

WELL, EVERYTHING YOU EVER SAID TO ME, IT WASN'T JUST WORDS, NO "You say we’ll never make my parents mistakes."
I would never try to hurt you, Fatesong. She frowned at his softly spoken words, unsure how to respond. Unsure what to believe and where to trust, but still willing to pour her heart into it anyway. She was struck when she turned into herself to realize that she had known of the leader's affection for her all along, but never dared to believe it. After all, she was not the most popular cat in the clan, nor was she probably the prettiest. Did not Hauntedsky's green eyes gleam with more beauty than her keen yellow sight? And there were certainly many young females that he might have his choice of. Shockflare, Crystalbreeze, Roseblush. Not a sleek, nearly unmarked ebony she-cat with a past, screwed up emotions, and a litter of three growing kits. She was no new, verdant eyed, fresh beauty. In comparison to her former apprentice, Crystalbreeze, she was an aged rose, strong but near the point of wilting, whereas the young cream warrior was a completely new blossom. Who was she to think that she was good enough for the handsome siamese tom, let alone the leader of her clan? But I feel affection for him. Fatesong thought, studying him in profile as he looked away from her. And if he feels the same for me, then that's all that we need, isn't it?
To answer your question, Fatesong, I have loved someone. The black she-cat breathed softly in, tilting her head as she watched him without reservation, listening to him speak. Hallowstar avoided her eyes as he told her about his sister, Wildleaf, and the fate that had befallen her. As he seemed to spill out his story to her, she couldn't help but want to be completely open with him about herself. About Delirium, and Conrad, and the day she had come to the clan and met Cometstar. But now... now isn't the right time. Not for that, but perhaps for something else... She looked at him, and he looked at her, and she made up her mind. The leader looked so strong, but she could tell he was tired, and perhaps even a little scared. She wanted to change that, but she wasn't sure if she could. Fatesong had her own weaknesses. Although, I suppose the hole in my heart will be filled again by someone just as important, if not more. I wait for that day to come. "Maybe..." She glanced away, bemused by her own lack of courage. "I could help with that." The warrior stepped forward slightly, so that she gazed up toward him slightly, her head tilted.
