NAME// --- Butterfly AGE// --- 8 moons GENDER// --- Tom CLAN// --- Clanless DESIRED POSITION// --- Kittypet SHORT DESCRIPTION// ---
DESCRIPTION// --- PERSONALITY// --- If you happen to stumble across Butterfly, there are three certainties. He will lie about his name, he will brag, and he will ask questions. He has learned that his name is considered delicate for a tom, and it has becomes a sensitive spot to him. He has decided to come up with a new one, but his impulsive and indecisive nature make him change his mind several times between introductions. Despite his touchiness when it comes to his name, Butterfly is a confident young tom. He knows he is a far better hunter then most kitty-pets twice his age, and enjoys showing off. While he is very boastful, he is always ready to back it up with actions. Or at least try. He may had not been the one to invent the phrase 'bite off more then I can chew" but he has certainly taken the practice to heart. Any dare he is given will be accepted without question, and by the time he realizes that what he is doing is completely crazy, he's already in too deep to back down. Butterfly laps up knowledge like other cats do milk. When he discovers something new, he devotes himself to finding out as much as he can about it. He'll observe, he'll ask questions, he'll even spy. It's not always idle, he remembers what he has learned, and does apply it. He used his spying method to learn how to hunt from loners. Butterfly is very independent. He loathes the idea of asking for help or (StarClan forbid.) depending on others. He takes a certain amount of pride that his Twolegs don't feed him much, and may throw that in when he's bragging. He considers himself fully grown, and may sometimes act the part. He has quite a superiority complex to the more childish members of his age group, which quickly is dissolved the moment they tell him that they bet he can't climb up that tree. He has never been around kits, but they would defiantly bring out his mature side. He'd probably be too focused on looking after them to make a good playmate. He does have a crippling fear of water, and an apprehension of heights. The latter, he is able to overcome for the sake of his ego or some other great need. He wouldn't dare face the former. EXPERIENCE// --- Butterfly's earliest memories are of racing his sisters up the long pelts that made the roof of their nursery, then backing down quickly as they could when distressed housefolk yowled at them. He had a happy kithood. Aside from the occasional squabbles, there was no real friction between himself and his four sisters, and his mother was a very loving and patient queen. Sadly, the same can not be said for the eldest female twoleg. Apparently, she felt that six designer dresses completely ruined by sharp little claws was the absolute limit. As soon as the kits were weaned, they were given away. Butterfly was given to a small family as a present for their young kit. The kit, whether through her own inexperience or simple two-leg ignorance, believed the young tom to be a she-cat, and gave him his name. After a few weeks of frenzied pampering, the kit lost intrest in Butterfly, and frankly, he did not waste tears over that. The kits parents didn't pay much attention to him, and the sight of an empty bowl became a common one. Driven by necessity, he ventured forth into the great outdoors. Most of his food was pilfered from garbage cans. It was a hard way for such a young cat in his neighborhood to get a meal. There was competition. His battle training was brutal, and he never really mastered it. Often he would slink back to his twolegs nest to lick his wounds and hope there was some food in his dish. He quickly came to the conclusion that the situation he was in just wouldn't work, so he decided to learn how to hunt food, like cats in the forest did. After all, there had to be plenty of fresh-prey to go around, right? His encounters with the ally cats made him suspicious, so he never approached the loners directly.
