His tabby form held masculine grace as he romped forward, deeper into the diagonal land that belonged to his Clan. Burning bright yellow eyes flashing brilliantly in the early morning light, Bearclaw led his apprentice to where they would be going over numerous fighting techniques. Bursts of bird song trilled through the trees, erupting through the air in a crisp and cool melody. Glancing back over his shoulder as he entered the meadow, a half-smile wracked up upon his maw as he peered closely at his charcoal apprentice.
"I know it's a drag to get up early, and I don't really like it much either, but it's still quite nice out and isn't half as humid.
[/u]" Bearclaw explained, pointing out his reasoning as to their schedule. The springy grasses beneath his feet gave a little bounce to his rocky step, and his wide paws left clumps of the lightly shaded veridian blades meshed in with the dew-dampened ground. " Battles. You haven't been in one yet, but things aren't going to stay calm forever, especially with TempestClan becoming restless. That's why you need to be able to protect yourself from others and be able to strike out against them.[/u]" Bearclaw nervously rattled. He hadn't really taught an apprentice much before, but he'd helped out a few of his fellow warriors with theirs before. Crouching down he pivoted about quickly, streaking forward and pouncing at his apprentice lightly, careful to keep his claws sheathed as he did so. He glided through the air, guiding his trajectory with his tail, and landed carefully next to the dark younger tom. " How would you protect yourself if an enemy warrior pounced at you? Would you keep strong against them and keep your stance, which better be a solid one, or would you dodge them using your smaller frame?[/u]" Asked the mentor to the apprentice, trying to understand which way his apprentice would be thinking. Either way, Bearclaw would teach him everything he knew about both, so it was really just a matter of getting Glenpaw involved.[/blockquote][/blockquote][/justify]

GlenpawAnd I don't want the world to see me Cause I don't think that'd they'd understand When everything's meant to be broken I just want you to know who I am Glenpaw walked, less to his excitement, after his mentor Bearclaw. It was too early to be waking up at this hour and he hadn't seen Crystalpaw at all yesterday for she was always busy. It made him rather irritated and now he had to come out here to train. Woo-hoo. What good would this do? He had to be all "thinker" less "speaker". He hadn't slept well again of course, dreaming about his sister's death. Sometimes he thought sleep was out of the question because he always woke up crying to StarClan to let him have her back. Great StarClan, he sounded like everything less than he was. What kind of cat was he? A wuss? No, he'd have to get over it. Whoops. He missed what Bearclaw was rattling on about. Oh well. It probably wasn't important anyways. Then he saw Bearclaw leap at him and turn to ask him something: "How would you protect yourself if an enemy warrior pounced at you? Would you keep strong against them and keep your stance, which better be a solid one, or would you dodge them using your smaller frame?"Well obviously Glenpaw couldn't dodge very well because he wasn't really that small. He was the biggest apprentice and almost the size of a new warrior. He was pretty big for his age so dodging wouldn't do him much good. And holding still didn't sound like a good plan either because if a cat landed on him, they would just sink their claws into his shoulders and then he'd be in pain and then all chaos would break loose after that. He'd get mad and try to kill the cat for hurting him. He would lose focus. If someone's life was on the line for that, he'd probably kill himself in the process of trying to kill the other cat, leaving the other cat's life to the murderer. Anyways, he wondered what would happen if the cat tried to pounce on him and he sprang upwards to try to knock them winded instead. It sounded like a crazy idea, but it almost made sense. They would think the smarter thing that their opponent would dodge our embrace their claws, but surely they wouldn't see a cat jump at them to hit their stomach in mid-air while they left it open would they? "I'd say neither. If a cat was coming to pin me down I'd be infuriated that their claws were in my shoulders, instead freaking out and going crazy. But I'm too big of an apprentice to dodge so that obviously wouldn't work either so couldn't I just jump upwards and surprise them instead? If I aimed up they wouldn't suspect it and I could wind them. It's like fighting in mid-air right so I would just claw at their stomach and rip it open sending them away. They wouldn't expect the cat to jump because the idea is insane, it would risk so much, but at the same time it would work. Right?"[/b] Glenpaw was excited all of a sudden. This was his first battle training and he needed the practice. However much he hated being with other cats, he was going to get his training in and become a warrior. It was that important to him.
