The one you said I could do without
We're in an awful mess, and I don't mean maybe
I know it's kind of a cheesy high school song, but it's been stuck in my head a lot lately (why, I can't imagine) and I got sort of an idea from it, for one of my favorite characters, Splashpaw of Tempestclan.
A brief background on Splashpaw: Splashpaw is part of Tempestclan's few 'pureblooded' cats. Her unplayed but living father is Rivershadow, brother of Littlebreeze. Her mother died when she was young, and she has a close connection with her father. She is also cousins with the deputy, Dreamfeather, and her siblings. It has been rumored that Dreamy might be her mother. She has two brothers, Maplepaw and Jaypaw, and has a growing connection with a Zephyrclan apprentice, Dunepaw. Among her clanmates, she is an outcast, and is only starting to become rebellious by continuing to see Dunepaw.
So yeah. That's Splashy. She's a pretty balanced character; her life isn't all tragedy nor all triumphs, she doesn't get along well with EVERYONE nor does she not get along with anyone; but I feel that she needs something more, so it isn't like she's just completely unwanted by Tempestclan. I want her to be torn between being with Dunepaw, and not only being loyal to her clan but being loyal to her family. More specifically, her father Rivershadow, orrrr possibly her brother Maplepaw. (Or even Jaypaw, I'd just love to have someoneee play one of those three.)
so yes. my plan is, maybe Rivershadow is very strict and Splashy gets confused and maybe even has a fight with Dune, and so she goes to her loving father, and reluctantly tells him, or maybe he even sees her meeting with Dune and goes to her? We can plot it out. If it was Maplepaw (the sweeter of her bros) or Jaypaw (the meaner of her bros) then it could also be different. Jaypaw might threaten to go to Voidstar himself if he saw her, whereas Maplepaw would most definitely keep her secret, but have her realize that he would be alone in the clan without her.
...so yeah. if you have other ideas (other tom that likes splashy is tempestclan is also good?) please please please post! Especially if you want to claim River/Maple/Jay! You can change their names if you want to.
