˚˚˚Hallowstar
The air was still chipper and it sent a running chill through the cats spine causing his hair to fluff up around his neck. It had been only a moon since the great leader he had respected vanished. He and his mate left the Clan and abandoned them in their time of need. It was astonishing to the tom actually. It was so random. Everything happened so quickly. One moment his leader, Cometstar, was leading the Clan and the next he was acting odd and always disappearing from the camp. His mate, Titianfoot, the deputy too even was sneaking off with him. Now, they were gone. The tom swallowed his fear before he started walking towards the front of the camp again. Yet he still couldn’t get over it. After they eloped together, the tom was torn on what to do. His Clan had given up almost. They were falling apart, but then StarClan sent a sign? He supposed that’s what happened. They sent the medicine cat, Fawndance, a sign about the new leader. Apparently, leaves dappled along the medicine cat’s paws and as she tripped and fell, a light shined over her. It made her want to bend down in praise at it. She then had said something about being able to lift herself up with ease. Supposedly that was supposed to be a sign for him and his name magically fit into that title: Hallowflight.
He was scared; he couldn’t help it. Usually he was confident with grace, but lately he was intimidated with everything. Plus he didn’t have a deputy either. That made him even more fearful. How was he supposed to get everything done? His Clan too had decreased in size from deaths happening left and right. He had no power over that. He needed warriors and fast. There were three apprentices within the Clan: Glenpaw, Rosepaw, and Crystalpaw. Glenpaw was training well with his mentor Bearclaw, but Rosepaw and Crystalpaw’s mentors died off. He needed to address their training session. Not to mention Fatesong’s three kits coming in. They were now old enough to become apprentices and he needed to give them mentors. Veilkit, Dewkit, and Rowankit added on to the lack of warriors because they all couldn’t have mentors. This gave an uncomfortable ache in his stomach because one of his warriors would need to train two apprentices at once, but he had an idea of who that would be; he had it planned out in his head.
His stomach did a backflip. His name wasn’t even Hallowflight anymore. It was Hallowstar. He had gone to the contact place where he lapped the ancient water from the pool and went to StarClan. It was an amazing, yet painful experience for him to suffer through. He still remembered his lives well. His first life had been from his friend who had died in battle, Chaoticwind. He gave Hallowflight battle wits – aka cunning- so that when there was a battle he knew exactly what he must do. His second life came from the leader before Cometstar. He told him that even though Cometstar left with all of his lives still hanging on, StarClan would still grant Hallowstar his new lives because he earned them. This leader gave him the life of inspiration, telling him that it was okay to be inspired because it was the key to new challenges and new fates to come. The next life came from the medicine cat before Fawndance. She gave him the life of determination and to determinate how to take care of his Clan as well as any of those surrounding him. His fourth life was given to him from his sister’s best friend, Lunarsong. She gave him the life of wisdom to always remain wise and make the better decisions. Lunarsong offered all the wisdom in the world when she was still alive, but she could not teach it very well. Hallowflight missed Lunarsong very much. The life after her came from his long lost apprentice who died in a fox fight, Oakpaw. His sixth life was from his mother. He was so very happy to see her. He didn’t want her to leave him again. She gave him the life of love though and told him to love his clanmates like his kits. He had expected this life to feel like clouds, but instead the life hurt so bad he thought she was really killing him. Now he knew better and found his Clan to be exactly like his kits. His life following hers was his father he never knew. He found it astonishing and yet he didn’t realize how much he missed him being in his life. His father gave him the life of understanding. Understand that not only do cats do crazy things, but also even he will do something insane and he must learn from anything that goes on. None other than Wildleaf herself gave his final life to him. His sister was a familiar and amazing sight to see. She had the same twinkle in her eye that she had when she was alive. Wildleaf gave him the life of strength and to his surprise the life glided through his body with ease and perked him up from all the pain from the rest of the lives he received. Wildleaf gave him this life for any strengthening problem he would need. After he had experienced all of his new lives he came back to his Clan not as Hallowflight, but as Hallowstar.
Now he was dragging his paws up towards the front of his Clan on the High Rock. “Let all those old enough to understand the ways of the warrior please join at the Rock for a Clan meeting!”[/color] he shouted to his diminished Clan. He had apprentice ceremonies to preform and he had to exchange mentors. Goodness, there was a lot to do. He cleared his throat. “Today we have three kits to announce their new apprenticeship states. Veilkit, Dewkit, and Rowankit, please step forward,” he nodded to all three apprentices as they bounced over to him, “From this day forward your names will be Veilpaw, Dewpaw, and Rowanpaw until you receive your warrior names. Ivyshade,”[/b] he beckoned the she-cat forward, “You will mentor Rowanpaw and teach him what you know. Let him learn from you.”[/b] He let the mentor introduce herself to the apprentice, but then he continued without hesitation. “Bearclaw,” he looked at the tom and saw Bearclaw’s first apprentice Glenpaw sitting closely to him, “Although you already have an apprentice, I’d like you to mentor Dewpaw as well. She needs guidance from you and I know you are doing a great job with Glenpaw. Please help Dewpaw along with her training as you finish up Glenpaw’s.”[/b] He watched Glenpaw’s face, but there was only disdain. He would have to get over it. There just weren’t enough warriors! “As for you Veilpaw, I will be mentoring you,”[/b] he leaped down and touched Veilpaw’s head with his nose and purred knowing that Veilpaw would be a challenge as well as a blessing for him.
He cleared his throat and backed away again. “I have two other announcements. Rosepaw and Crystalpaw will be having switches of mentors. Spottedheart will be Rosepaw’s new mentor and Fatesong, you will mentor Crystalpaw.”[/b] He let them do whatever else they would like before he stood still at the foot of the Rock and awaited anything else his Clan had to say. He needed to keep them together. Everything was happening out of place. His leadership already was off-balance and he didn’t know what else he could do.
