The air was fresh and clear against the negative weather that had been spontaneously happening in ZephyrClan. The Clan was milling around proudly as there had been multiple new apprentices in the last moon and warriors had grown to be very fine and strong for ZephyrClan. Paintedstar had led her clan to a great amount and even the other clans couldn't surpass ZephyrClan. Not that anyone was biased or anything like that. The sky still felt heavy with rain however and cats knew that they should hunt while the sun was in the sky for fear that the rain would wipe out the prey around the territories.
Outside of the apprentices' den, a small, fluffy, grey she-cat was washing herself, enjoying a good relaxation. She kept her ears alert for any signs of cats coming over to the den because her brother, a brown tabby tom, was asleep inside. He had eaten a little too much last night and gotten a stomach ache. His sister sent him to his den and made him sleep it over. Now, she was sitting outside, awaiting approaching cats to explain to them her brother, or get to work. She would be good with either.
She blinked her glossy green eyes around and searched for her mentor. She was ready for a hunting lesson or even a fighting training session. She was really ready for anything that could get her off of her paws. Shadedpaw flicked her tail as she thought she spotted her other brother, Firepaw, heading out of the clan camp with the leader and a patrol of warriors. She twitched her whiskers in amusement. Firepaw wanted so desperately bad to be the deputy of the clan. He would try to do everything in his power to learn and become the warrior he was destined to be. Shadedpaw herself thought it would be fantastic to be the deputy of her clan, but she didn't push her luck like Firepaw did. She loved him to death, but sometimes he could be a little too overpowering. Shadedpaw scanned the clearing in search of her mentor, Poisonfang. Even though his name was bitter and brash, he was very nice and Shadedpaw had been satisfied with who she was paired with.
She thought she spotted Noxbane trotting out of the warriors' den and wondered if he was ready for Rustlepaw, Shadedpaw's brother. Rustlepaw was quiet unlike Firepaw, but they both had the best intentions. Rustlepaw, even though he didn't believe it, was strong and courageous. Shadedpaw promised to watch over him and protect him, but she was convinced that he could protect himself. He was so very brave and she believed in him. Noxbane, was Rustlepaw's mentor, and he was very confident. Shadedpaw liked Noxbane and thought he would be a good mentor for Rustlepaw. After all, Rustlepaw wasn't energetic, but quiet and excited. Rustlepaw needed a good mentor. Shadedpaw approved.
Shadedpaw finished her washing and stood up to stretch out her limbs, enjoying herself. She peeked her head into the apprentices' den and made out Rustlepaw's unmoving shape in his mossy nest. His breathing was adequate and Shadedpaw backed out quietly. She sat back down in front of the den and closed her eyes, drawing the sounds and scents of the camp. Maybe Poisonfang will draw close soon. I'm in need of doing something. She thought to herself lazily.
