The morning was beautiful. The large variety of hues that streaked across the sky as the sun rose still shone among the clouds, and Flamingarrow had actually had a good night's sleep without the interuption of a recurring nightmare. She felt refreshed, renewed, and ready to tackle the events of the new day. The femme sat among the few other early-risers in the Clan and lapped gently at her pelt as she gave it a thorough and needed cleaning. A silver, male form slipped out from the apprentice's den, and the fiery she-cat couldn't help but plaster a smile on her face. "Wraithpaw!" She called out across the green tinted clearing, her emerald eyes meeting her apprentice's own amber gaze. Standing up, she put one paw ahead of the other and quickly strode over to where her apprentice stood.
"Hey." The warrior greeted him, gasping it out and appearing a bit breathless from anticipation of the lovely day beginning to unfold around her for once, compared to the usual gloomy darkness that enshrouded the female. Smiling down at the tom, she wanted to smooth down the hair on his pelt that was sticking up but refused the motherly instinct. A dull ache echoed within her as she wished that her own children were still alive for her to care for like that. Blinking a bit as she teared up, she let out a fake yawn and poked gently at the young tom. "Up for a bit of training?" The red-shaded femme asked, eyes blazing with her inner fire.
Turning her head to peer across the clearing where she had previously been sitting, a black and white tom with a characteristically mismatched gaze caught her eye. "Maybe we can get Jetfang and Gloompaw to join us, that way I can show you off properly." She piped up, not looking down at her apprentice, but instead keeping her eyes locked onto Jetfang. "I got in a little spat with Jetfang the other day. Can you ask him if he and Gloompaw want to come along? I'll go get Gloompaw while you do that." Flamingarrow asked her apprentice, turning her head to peer down at him once again. He would be a handsome little creature someday when he got rid of his rough exterior and let others break in to see his real personality. The femme couldn't help but half-smile at the grey apprentice as she thought of the future he might have.

one night of the hunter, one day i will get revenge, one night to remember, one day it'll all just end Sun filtering into the apprentices den had woken him up nice and early; it was the perfect day for a good old training session. After all, he had no time to waste. Jumping to his paws he shook moss from his pelt and wiped the crust from the corners if his cinnamon eyes. Poking his head out of the apprentices den, he looked left then right, and again. When he was satisfied that no cat was looking his way he made a dash for it, a bandit sneaking out of camp. That was until he heard another shout his name and he froze in his tracks.”Bugger, my stupid white pelt.” He cursed under his breath and tried to get rid of his frustration with a heavy sigh. He considered making a run for it and acting as though he hadn’t heard Flamingarrow, but it was too late now as he saw her dancing across camp out of the corner of his eye. ”Oh here we go.” He muttered to himself before she reached him.
Flinching away from her slightly as she rushed over to him he watched her with guarded eyes. There was something obviously different about his mentor today, and he wanted to know what it was now. Tilting his head to one side he watched her. ”Hello Flamingarrow.” He replied, his tone genuine enough despite his suspicions. Maybe there was more to Flamingarrow than he had first thought. ”Uh sure.” He shrugged. Obviously he didn’t really have much choice and maybe it would do him good to train with a mentor for a change, even though he did prefer to train himself.
As he turned away from his mentor to go and find Jetfang he suddenly felt a tiredness wash over him after their short interaction. It was almost as though her being so excitable and bright this morning had sucked all the energy out of him, leaving him feeling as though he wanted to return to his nest and curl up again. Dragging himself across camp he stopped a fox length away from where Jetfang was sitting, not really wanting to get too close. ”Apprentice training, Jetfang.” He called bluntly to the tom, before backing away and returning to the middle of camp. Taking a seat he began to lick his paws and groom himself; confused by the fact that his mood had changed so rapidly and shivered even though the sun was out.
It was then he realised he actually had no idea who Gloompaw was. He didn’t exactly sound like much of a threat to Wraithpaw. The fact that Flamingarrow wanted to show him off did please him a little. He felt he was worth showing off and he wouldn’t let her down, he would make her proud and he would make every cat weary of him. Firstly, he would have to make his name feared among the apprentices considering the only apprentice he really knew was Crowpaw, and he actually liked Crowpaw.

{ JETFANG }
I'm losing ground | And still I can't stand down
Waking up at the start of the end of the world, But it's feeling just like every other morning before, Now I wonder what my life is going to mean if it's gone
Though recently he had been more tired than normal, he had woken to an optimistic morning. Colors of all kinds swelled the morning's glory, and he could almost believe all of the bad things hadn't- and weren't going to- happen. He was trying hard to do this now, relaxing not quite at the edge of camp but nearby the warrior's den. Washing a paw over his ears, he considered taking something from the fresh kill pile. Though he hadn't eaten recently, however, Jetfang found he had very little appetite as of lately, and there were no hunger pangs in his stomach. Instead, he lapped up a bit of water in a small pool nearby the nursery, creating ripples with his dry pink tongue. He paused a moment, hesitating, after wetting his mouth, and gazed at the surface. After recent events he was surprised that he didn't appear older, his black and white fur rather rough- and still sticking up oddly in places- but his eyes calm and clear of readable unhappiness or age. He could, if he fancied it, go walking about all day like this, and probably no one would ask him about why he had lately not been sleeping by Lilythorn. It was a morbid feeling, knowing somehow that this storm wasn't going to pass. He could only look toward the coming days apathetically, taking his slowly declining health as a symptom of loss and not sickness. Jetfang splashed a paw, with slight aggression, into the middle of the clear water. The blue sky reflected shattered, droplets coating his front foot, and he padded away without a backward glance, sitting a few fox lengths away to continue washing himself. It wasn't long before a ghost pelted tom, his fur a pale white hue, approached. He didn't come close enough that they might talk, instead feeling need to call from a distance, which irritated the tired ebony tom. He didn't recall, at this moment, that Wraithpaw was Flamingarrow's apprentice. On any normal day he would have, but as he yawned widely it seemed that such knowledge was pressed from his mind. His only choice now was to go to the training area and hope that his 'young prodigy' Gloompaw would be there. He hadn't been given much choice, and could assume that the apprentice's mentor had ordered him to call to Jetfang as though he were a young apprentice late for battle practice. This sparked a bit more annoyance as he rose, gave himself a good shaking, and padded off in the direction of the forest, tail low to the ground as it swished back and forth. NOTES. I'm going to assume this is just before Jetfang gets sick. xD [/blockquote]
