DESCRIPTION//I’m not doing to be rash here, I’m quite the good-looking cat. I’ve got my father’s stockier leg structure, sure, but I’ve got my mother’s nicely built long frame, which suits me nicely. I like the way I look, and I’m not afraid to flaunt it. I do have to admit, I’m quite lucky that both of my parents are Zephyr born, because if they weren’t, I’d probably have a hard time bearing the certain elements that only us cats can endure. Like my short fur? It’s great for the summertime, because it keeps me cool when the sun is on my back for the entire day. In the winter it thickens out and keeps me relatively dry when it snows – but that all depends on how much snow is falling and the rate it hits my body. I enjoy my pelt because it also keeps me dry when it’s raining. Instead of falling through my fur, it seems to land on top of it and not slide down, which I consider lucky, because I love being out in the rain. But, enough about my body structure as a whole – let’s break it down for you.
Let’s start with my head. There are a lot of things that I like about my head. It suits me nicely, it’s not too big and if anything, it’s a little on the small side, which is fine; I don’t mind one bit. My ears are triangular (why wouldn’t they be?) and they’re rounded nicely on the tips. My left ear has a bit of a tear in it from when I was a newly made warrior. I did something stupid that I’ll reflect on later when I talk about my history. The crown of my head is covered with thin bits of black fur that creates a velvety soft look about it. Those furs break down and turn into different shades of brown as well as some grays and blacks, and they dance around my face to create a nice look. The fur on my cheeks is splotched with many different colors, my personal favorite being the caramel color on my right cheek. There are some more defined dark brown and black stripes – the two other favorites of mine – the one’s that come down from the outer corners of my eyes and then wind their way onto my neck. I find those cool to look at, but that’s just me.
My maw is cream-colored, if not white, and it has flecks of brown right along the top of my mouth. My nose is a dark pink, almost salmon looking color, and it’s highlighted by a black line that wraps itself around the outside of my nose. My whiskers are long and pristinely colored – white – as white as freshly fallen snow, many have commented. I don’t do anything to them; I was merely born that way, so it seems. My eyes are round, and are shadowed by black skin that winds itself around both eyes, creating an almost tear-like façade from the inner corners of both eyes. The green is nothing special. If anything, it just helps make the coloring on my face look much nicer than it actually is.
Moving down to my neck, it’s nothing special. If anything, it’s actually pretty…how would I say this, stocky? Yes, that sounds about right. It’s just colored in with tan, cream, and dark brown stripes. I wouldn’t exactly call it unusual, but I think it makes my face stand out even more than if it were different colors. But, how would I know? I’ve never seen my neck as a different color, and I never will. The favorite part of my neck would be the thin, black stripe that actually winds itself across the whole of my neck. It makes me look as if I were wearing something a kittypet would wear, which makes me amused sometimes, because kittypets are not ones of whom I would want to copy off. The fur around my neck is extremely soft because I keep it well-groomed. It’s got both short and longer strands of fur, it just depends on the area.
Moving onto my chest, one would notice that my fur lightens in color and it stays a relatively solid gray throughout the whole of my chest. Near my shoulders, though, the color is more defined, and it actually begins with small, relatively light stripes, that darken in color as the move down my forelegs – but I’ll talk about those when I want to get to them, okay? The fur on my chest is really soft, too. I take good care of that area because it gets dirty more often and it’s also easiest to reach with my tongue. I wouldn’t call myself lazy, but then again, I wouldn’t exactly go ahead and call myself pro-active, especially when it comes to grooming.
I said when I was ready; I’d get to my forelegs and forepaws, so here we go. My forelegs aren’t that different from any tabbies, really. I like the look of them, but that’s just me. The underlying color is that gray-brown that we see runs its way around the large majority of my body, but light stripes start at my shoulders and they turn darker and more prominent as they move their way down my forelegs and then…they grow lighter again. The stripes then seem to almost turn into large ovals as they reach the area near my paws, and a few rest themselves on the very beginning of my paws, but then they stop altogether. My forepaws are oval in shape, and I believe that they help me on both when I’m on the ground or in the air trying to catch something flying. They are darker in color, but they don’t stick out too much. I don’t exactly like to stick out in a crowd, you see…
Oh! I forgot to do the entirety of my back and sides! That’s, like, the best part! Like most tabbies, I have the black stripe that runs through almost the entire area of my spine. It’s cool, especially when I’m sitting and I have by back to other cats. It’s nice to look at, although…I never really have the chance to see it unless I’m bending to groom my fur, which, although I already mentioned…I’m not too big of a fan of doing. But, a tom’s gotta do what a tom’s gotta do to keep himself good looking, yeah? My sides are very interesting. Although almost equally identical, the coloring is really cool when I’m, say, jumping across one thing to another. Small, black spots line the black stripe that runs its way down the whole of my back, ending only to begin my tail. Those spots are dark and easy to see, but under and almost connected to them begin the array of stripes that flow through my short, soft pelt. The stripes are…odd or at least I like to think so. They’re not exactly pretty; they’re interesting to look at. They ebb and fade throughout my whole side, sometimes growing dark, and sometimes almost blending in completely with the fur…on my underbelly! I forgot to talk about that, too!
My underbelly is cool. The fur is swirled in lots of different shapes and patterns, and dark browns and black are all swirled around to create a cool effect. I rarely lay on my back when I’m sleeping – I’m one of those cats who find it comfy to curl up into a tight ball when I sleep – so the fur is hardly ever shown unless I’m cleaning it or I do roll in my sleep.
I guess I can talk about my hind legs and paws now, too, if that’s okay with you. I’ll just do those and my tail, and then I’ll quit talking about myself, although I have to admit, it’s kind of nice to be able to do this. My hind legs are short and muscular, but they give me hardly any problems when I run. Sure, some stumbles here and there, but that is the same problem with every cat, yeah? The stripes that run down both my hind legs are actually pretty dark and defined compared to my forelegs, but that’s okay. It looks really fantastic when I jump around. The backs of my hind legs are completely covered with black fur, and it creates that velvet look like the crown of my head.
Under the base of my tail, the color’s a really light tan that’s rarely seen on the rest of my fur. I don’t really care that it’s there, because more often than naught, my tail’s down anyway, unless I spot something during a hunting patrol or territory patrol and my tail shoots up to alert the other members who are with me. My tail is striped, and the striping is similar to that on my back. Smaller spots line the stripe that runs its way all the way down to my tail, and ends it with a black tip. Stripes then continue on from there and ring their way around the whole of my tail until the black tip breaks them off. Well, that’s all about my appearance! You got a good idea of what I look like, right? If not, well, I’m always up for giving you answers!
PERSONALITY//Well, I guess it wouldn’t hurt to talk about myself for a little while, too, right? Seeing as you’re all so interested in me and my life and all. Well, I guess there’s a lot to talk about when it comes to my personality. That is what you want me to talk about right now, correct? If it isn’t…well, just wait because I was just starting to think of something really good to say. There’s a lot going on in my head and my character. I’m quite a solid cat, but I’ve got some nice quirks and whatnot, just like every other cat. What cat is perfect? As much as I like to show my better qualities, I do know that I have my downfalls, but that’s okay! As an apprentice, I learned that no cat has wonderful qualities, so I guess I can talk about my not-so-nice traits, too. Just bear with me for a little, okay?
I can start out with one of my less noted qualities – a quality that I don’t enjoy sharing with many other cats, because I feel like it’s not very cool. I’m a very paternal cat. Because of this, I find myself wanting to play around with kits and apprentices, and I always enjoy watching out for them. I haven’t really had much experience working with apprentices outside of the camp for some odd reason, but I would really like to be a mentor. I feel like being a mentor would make me feel like a better cat. I can always ask, but I guess it’s really up to the leader to decide whether or not I’m mentally ready to handle an apprentice – that and the number of apprentices we have in the clan. I try not to get my hopes up when every apprentice ceremony comes around, but I can’t help it. Each one and I’ve never been chosen to be a mentor. I always think, is something wrong with me? But I realize it’s not my fault, there are always cats out there that will have better qualities when it comes to mentoring apprentices. Maybe it’s my lack of patience?
Yeah…I really wanted to talk about a better quality than my lack of patience, but I suppose I kind of set myself up for that one. Ever since I was a kit, I hardly had any sort of patience – and it’s not because I’m unfocused – that’s a different story that I will get to later. I may be completely on my game, but something may bother me, and I’ll rush into it, and end up paying for it in the end. Although patience is considered a virtue…well, I guess it is. Oh well, I don’t mind it. Sometimes it can really get to me, especially when I start to become angry. Lack of patience can be considered dangerous sometimes, but I try to hold it in, really, I do!
Let’s talk about one of my better traits! I’m fast, and for this, I love being a ZephyrClan cat. Not many cats know what it feels like to fly over the hills in the freezing cold and burning hot, and not even care about how fast they’re going or how far. This is what I do when I need to blow off steam. Of course my speed can come in handy when it comes to small battles and outrunning some sort of beast or opponent, but it doesn’t necessarily mean that I’m agile. I’m actually not a very agile or flexible due to my lack of long legs. It can be damaging during battle, but I haven’t really run into many problems. Thanks to a really fantastic mentor I had when I was an apprentice, I found myself many good ways to avoid getting caught in my weak spot. I now know to use my speed to my advantage. It may not be great in battle, but it’s not like I’m slow and inflexible, right?
I like to talk about myself a lot, okay? And that can be bad. I’ve been called everything from a narcissist to and airhead, because I can talk and talk and talk about myself and lose track of what’s actually going on in the real world. It gets pretty bad, actually. I’m a good listener, too, don’t get me wrong! But I just have tendencies to talk more about myself than about other cats. Some could even look at that in a good light! At least I like to talk about myself rather than other cats in a bad way, right? Right? Ha, see, I got you thinking about better things! It’s not so bad that I talk about myself, okay.
Trying to stay relatively happy and in a good mood throughout the year is something that I strive to do. I like being happy, and being angry and upset just makes me entirely more angry and upset. I’m quite level headed when I’m in a good mood, but when I get angry, that good mood goes right out the camp. I can grow easily frustrated sometimes, especially out on hunting trips. I’m not exactly a prime hunter, so, things can get pretty unsettling pretty quickly when I’m out there trying and failing to catch something. It’s not fun, especially for me.
