NAME// --- Nightbird AGE// --- 37 moons GENDER// --- She-cat CLAN// --- Vertigoclan DESIRED POSITION// --- Medicine Cat SHORT DESCRIPTION// --- A firey black she-cat with bright amber eyes.
DESCRIPTION// ---
How could you call this she-cat anything but beautiful? She's actually very small in size, not having grown much from kittenhood, but don't think that belies her strength in any way. She's fleet on her paws, a trait she inherited from her father, and even quicker with her wits. Her eyes are a bright, attractive amber, and her short-haired fur is a black in color. Unlike her brother, she has no odd markings, simply being a pure black in color. Not a spot of white on the feline, to be sure. She's slim and sleek in appearence, clearly a feline built for speed and stealth, as odd as it is. She can blend right in with the evergreen forest's shadows and not be spotted by a soul. It is simply her nature.
PERSONALITY// ---
What is the best way to describe this bundle of fur? Firey! No one would ever call Nightbird anything but a ball of absolute flame. She'd be the first to smack you upside the head with a paw if you did something stupid, and also the first to nurse you back to health. A contradiction, she's caring but boisterous, with the mouth of an old tom-cat sometimes. She's, quite honestly, a downright b-word sometimes, though Starclan help you if you say it to her face. It's simply because her nature is overbearing, and she cares so much that she gets somewhat violent with it. She's taken a swipe out of her brother a few times before to keep him in line. You'll likely not find a cat more bent on helping other though. She's clever and quick-witted, prone to thinking up solutions of getting out of sticky situations, and has a bit of an authority issue. Meaning, she doesn't really listen if she thinks something has to be done. This doesn't mean she'd ever betray her clan, but if she thinks something would be better for them, then she'd do it in a heartbeat. It's just the way she is. EXPERIENCE// ---
(Nightkit) Her brother led an unusually quiet kithood...compared to the firey Nightkit. She was born to Quickstep the tom-cat and Sabletooth the she-cat. Quickstep was a mild personality, but Sabletooth could bring all hell to break loose, and usually it was on the disobedient and adventerous Nightkit. Needless to say, Nightkit grew up just like her mother, but inherited her father's knack for hiding and speed. (It's not wonder he was good at hiding, Sabletooth's anger was a force to be reckoned with sometimes!)
(Nightpaw) Ah, kittenhood! Nightpaw was..again, the troublemaker. The tom-cat she was apprenticed too almost gave up, because she thought she could do everything better than him. It took awhile before she began to listen even a little bit, but that didn't mean she wasn't learning. She picked up a lot from her uncle, who was teaching Jetpaw at the time, and Jetpaw himself. She became close friends with Shiverpaw, who was Jetpaw's crush. (She teased them almost constantly, making bawdy enough jokes that would turn Shiverpaw's fur red if they could.) She was never interested in being a warrior, but she did love scouting out the forest. She knew almost every inch of it by the end of her apprenticehood, and so the night the foxes struck, she wasn't as out of luck as most, nor that confused.
She can remember the devestation it brought. In the wake, there were smatterings of wounded, but only one missing. It was all too clear, the look on Jetpaw's face, who it was. That day, Nightpaw ran off into the woods and searched desperately. Even the best scout they had couldn't find Shiverpaw, and Nightpaw was at a loss. As the came back, heartsick and heavily broken, she knew her brother had fared much worse. That was when her true strength came to light. She pulled herself together, mustered all of her strength, and swore she'd someday find Shiverpaw and she would take care of her brother until then. With high spirits, deadset on taking care of everyone now, her mentor saw promise in something.
Instead of being a warrior, he suggested. Why not she became a medicine cat? It seemed like a good idea. Nightbird was never much for love or crushes, as the other cats were. She'd seen them at their worst and best already, cared for many of them, even dragged wounded back into the camp before. Thus, her apprenticeship was extended. That was the day she met Pomegranatefur... and all hell broke loose. She learned the method to his madness, but was driven crazy by his OCD tendencies. Needless to say, there was probably a lot of fights that occured during the time, but she respected her mentor and always defended him. He was a good cat, she knew. She wouldn't let anyone say differently, and if they did, she smacked them so hard their brain's scattered.
(Nightbird) As such, we come full circle in this life. Nightbird grew into a beautiful, spirited she-cat. One could call her the light in life, the never-shakeable force. Even in the face of defeat and death, Nightbird stands strong and radiates with such justice and force that it's an amazing sight to see. She's really the heart to strength, and she's always there to listen and let others cry on her shoulder. Thus, she became medicine cat, following the teachings of her elder. She promised she would take care of everyone. She cared for everyone, and wouldn't let anything happen to them if she could help it. Then, tragedy struck. In the wake of Abyssbird's death, Nightbird is frantically trying to fight off the solemn whisper of despair in her village. After all, to lose hope is to lose sight of the light.
