The sun drew closer to the horizon, shifting from a blinding pallid yellow to cool amber, ringed with a burning vermillion flare. As evening swept across the CelestialClan lands, covering the shady territory with a warm pumpkin glow, a cool breeze swept across the bustling camp area, now filled with cats, both young and old, chatting cheerfully away in the comfortable atmosphere. Emerald ferns speckled the edges of the clearing, offering a gentle shade from the dying sunlight, and from deep within one emerged the muscular build of a certain fluffy tawny-hued tabby. Between his powerful jaws lay the limp, still-warm bodies of three squirrels, held captive by the ivory fangs that acted as their cage. The tom had hoped to come across a badger or fox during his hunt, having specifically located himself in the denser regions of the CelestialClan forest, but to no avail. Not one speck of russet of slash of black and white had shown itself from between the lush foliage, and he had returned disappointed and bored.
Clanlife was dull and proved to be no more exciting that the plumage of a crow. Viperfang was bored out of his mind, there was absolutely nothing to do other than chat about silly things like the weather and oh, that’s a nice mouse you have there. Really? Thank you, I just caught it., which made him want to rip his own ears to shreds to escape such mindless drabble. When would something interesting happen, for StarClan’s sake? His paws itched for a fight – but it would be a while till he would partake in one, the leader had banned him from starting fights since the last time – and his blood ached for the delicious surge of adrenaline that had the power to make him dizzy from excitement.
Either way, the closest he would get to something mildly interesting was the border patrol he was told to lead, and hopefully something interesting would stumble across them. A hostile rogue, perhaps? The shaggy tom proposed thoughtfully to StarClan as he padded around the camp, looking for those that would accompany him on the oh, so arduous journey. ”Foxkiss, Sereneriver, border patrol.” Viperfang spoke, his voice deep and politely commanding as always, before padding towards the apprentice’s area and calling out to the small figure that was Ashpaw. ”Ashpaw. You’re up for a border patrol.” Without waiting for an answer, the sinewy warrior turned swiftly and trotted out of the clearing, his steps brisk and claws unsheathed.

foxkiss** would you like a kiss instead of my soft caressHer paws traced over their Clan's land gracefully, and with earnest vigor as her stiff muscles stretched out to their full capability. She'd just gotten back into camp from a leisurely pre-dinner stroll to get her juices flowing and to help the soreness she'd acquired from the previous day's adventures. Wandering about all day didn't always feel great the next. As her strides grew longer as she pulled on the hard knots of tissue, she heard her name called by one of her Clanmates. Viperfang, to be exact.
Just as soon as he had done so, the fox-like she-cat grinned with passion. Border patrol time, wasn't it? Ignoring the gnawing reminder that came from her refusal to eat, she approached the tom that had summoned her, dipping her head to the handsome tom. "What have we got here?" Crooned Foxkiss, indigo eyes fluttering as her auburn lashes blinked down across her eyes, shading them from the beautiful splashes of light dancing all across the setting sky. "Viperfang leading a patrol?" She continued, in mock astonishment, before smiling grandly at the tom.
Sitting herself gently down at his side, she flicked her long-haired tail back and forth, letting it drift toward the tom not once, but twice. Her bright ginger fur prickled in the chilling breeze, but she did not feel the last of winter's great cold. The last bit of sunshiney rays coming through the light cloud cover warmed her outside as much as it did the inside. Truly, her personality was as charming as ever in these last few moment's before twilight's first dregs. Turning her head about, her curious gaze sweeped across the camp, seeking out those that Viperfang had also summoned. An apprentice and another Warrior, wasn't it? Not entirely sure anymore, the she-cat decided it was best just to wait patiently, with the company of the tom beside her.

SERENERiVER!
-.The white she-cat let her blue eyes watch the surroundings of her clan. From the morning to now, the personality and character of her clan-mates continued to change with the ever setting sun. The morning had been drab, dull and lifeless. It always was. Cats didn't want to stir and they never seemed ready to get on their paws and make life continue along its merry way. The afternoons were okay, although by that time most were bustling around and irritated from one another. And as evening came around, and the sun allowed the trees to cast their shadowy figured across the land, life returned to its dull and drab state of being. She spotted Viperfang, watching him silently, but not in a way to come off as some weird she-cat. Sereneriver was anything but that. She was a bit shy, maybe even through a bit of naivety in there...but weird she was not.
Suddenly the tom she had been watching spoke, Foxkiss and herself. One word came to mind...patrol. And soon enough it was confirmed. Pushing herself to her feet, the petite she-cat let her ivory body dance itself to where Viperfang and Foxkiss were already heading out. Hearing her apprentice's name, she popped her head into the apprentice's den. "Common Ashpaw!" She mewed lightheartedly. Sereneriver loved the younger cats. She loved kits. She was a mother without ever being one. Her eyes watched as Viperfang moved out of the clearing and Foxkiss beside him. She herself however, refused to leave without her apprentice.
