Dewstream stood up, smiling at Shiverleaf, and then nodded to Brokenail. "Screechgale will take good care of you," he meowed quietly. "If need be, I can hurry back to camp, drop off the fish and come back," he meowed slowly, beginning to walk at a slowed pace. He could tell that Brokentail's tail hurt, but at least the warrior could walk. "You'll get better soon, Brokentail," the tom purred, smiling at the tom.
"Medicine Cats work like no other, and she'll help you, but I hope she won't keep you long, we need you here," he meowed. He continued along, keeping his pace slow, the smell of the fish making his scents drown out everything else. He looked back at Shiverleaf. He smirked, and he mumbled with effort, "I'll get you back for that," he chuckled, his eyes sparkling. "Stones? That's a new one," he growled happily.

Shiverleaf smiled at the words coming from both her friends. She was happy to help and was more than happy to talk with these two toms. "Oh that's not needed Dewstream. I'm not as frail as I look and I can handle Brokentail here just fine. " Smiling softly and laughing at his words she couldn't help but try and not fall from the laughter. "You'll find I'll do whatever I please. " Of course her words were just a joke for Shiverleaf was not one to disobey rules. Finding the fact that she may of ignored Brokentail she quickly replied to his words. "Oh Starclan watches over us all." She smiled softly.

Dewstream chuckled, and merely shook his head, thinking. His paw steps were gentle thuds across the ground, matching the rate of his heartbeat, although it was rapidly increasing and rapidly decreasing, at random times, and it confused the slowly walking tom. 'I wonder if there's something wrong with me?' he thought to himself, questioning the random increasing and decreasing beats of his fluttering heart.
He looked at the sky, and noticed the sun was already on it journey down below the horizon, but it was still up high. There was still some daylight left. "Sunhigh came and passed quickly today," he noted, frowning. Time had flown by.

Brokentail gazed up at the sinking sun. The day really had gone by quickly. It seemed only a few hours ago that his tail had started hurting in the first place, and yet here he was staggering back to camp with a tail that felt like it was about to fall off.
"I'm sorry if I worried either of you. Maybe I should take more car of myself." Brokentail sighed. "If things like this keep happening... I might just have to retire to the elder's den early..."

Shiverleaf smiled softly at the words that came from the mouth of Brokentail. The older tom had always made her laugh. It seemed she put off the fact that Dewstream was here. Apparently she was having problems admitting that she was with him and he was here. Flicking her tail in annoyance at herself she nodded her head to the words of Brokentail before letting herself talk. "Yes it has. And oh Brokentail, you'll do what's best for you." She murmured softly shifting her body quickly. Brokentail didn't need her to walk, he only had needed her to get up. Smiling softly she moved to the other side of Brokentail, closer to Dewstream.

Dewstream smiled, and looked at Shiverleaf carefully. Hopefully the warrior didn't need the help of walking. It didn't seem so. He smiled, and let out a purr. "Maybe this time you'll take Screechgale's advice?" he suggested, chuckling once, weakly. He would be saddened if Brokentail had to retire, but he had to do what was best for him. "You're right, Shiverleaf," Dewstream meowed, his voice quiet. It hadn't meant to come out of his mouth, but after thinking, he realized the the she-cat walking next to him was correct. Cats had to do what was best for them, and not hurt themselves any further.

Shiverleaf purred softly as Dewstream agreed with her. Thinking of the words she had just said she thought of the life she lived. Was she doing anything that was best for her? Or was she too busy helping others and not helping herself. For it sure did not seem like she was helping herself. She cared about others to much to take time and do something for herself. What was she supposed to do for herself anyways. Find a lover you fool. The voice and thought rang quickly in her head and she pushed it away as quickly as it entered. "Thank you Dewstream." She purred softly, smiling as she did so, her eyes meeting his oddly. Looking away as quickly as she looked at him, Shiverleaf sighed and couldn't help but laugh softly.

Dewstream nodded, purring happily. He met Shiverleaf's eyes, and purred again. "It's true, you're completely right, your words really made me think," he meowed, frowning. Smiling, he padded alongside Shiverleaf, feeling stupid. His white paws were picked off the ground, as he continued on his way, occasionally stealing a glance at the she-cat beside him. He saw her laugh, and wondered what made her do so.

Blinking her eyes swiftly she couldn't believe that he has actually said that. Her silver-gray bodice moved swiftly alongside his and Brokentail's though the tom seemed to have fallen quiet. Glancing back over at Dewstream she saw him look at her and couldn't help but notice that a quizzical look was upon his face. "Oh I was just laughing at the thought that love seems to make me laugh." The thought didn't give away anything and she was fairly sure that she was fine saying it and could get by with the sentence without him figuring out that she might be falling in love with him.

Cedarclaw just nodded, focusing his head straightforward. He didn't realize t, but he had moved a fraction of an inch closer to Shiverleaf, and instantly skittered away another inch, his pelt burning in embarrassment. He sighed, they were getting close to camp. Once more, the words of Shiverleaf seemed to get his mind thinking, and he agreed, once more. "Love can sometimes be a funny thing," he chuckled. "Sometimes you know you're in love, and other times, it just..happens, and you never knew it until that very moment," he murmured, looking off, his voice quiet.

Shiverleaf nodded agreeing with his words as her eyes sought out the camp ahead. They would be there shortly. Caught up in the hustle and bustle of camp life and the fact that Larkstar would keep them on their toes. It seemed that being in camp was always harder than being out in the territory with a couple of friends. Her thoughts still on camp she remembered that she needed to respond to Dewstreams's words. "You mean like we have." The words stumbled out. Soft, though unfortunately loud enough for the two to hear. She grimaced slightly and her eyes seemed to pick up a hint of glimmer.

Dewstream tried to keep calm, bur really, he couldn't. The tom smiled, and nodded. "Yes," he meowed quietly, his lithe body radiating with embarrassment. "Are you positive you can't read minds?" he tried to joke, but his voice trailed off. He felt nervous. He didn't really know what to do from here, but he certainly felt some kind of spark between the two.

Shiverleaf couldn't help but purr and then laugh as she heard the tom talk. She definitely knew there was something here, there had to be otherwise she wouldn't be able to say this stuff without knowing it. The same with him. "I'm positive I can't read minds." She purred lightly, before moving closer to Dewstream and brushing against him lightly. She shouldn't of done it but she had. Who knew what would come from this. Kits or just a friendship unlike that of others.

Dewstream smiled, and a purr radiated in his throat as the she-cat he may or may have not loved, brushed her lovely pelt against his. It was still to early to tell, but he certainly didn't want to deny it. He felt something, and it grew every time he cast a long look at Shiverleaf. They were almost back to camp, and Dewstream wished they were back, hunting, or doing something other than arriving back in Zephyrclan, where they surely would be split up, going on a patrol, fixing something, anything but resting, for the moment, anyways. The scent of the camp was drowned out, and the only thing left lingering in his mind was the sweet scent of Shiverleaf. "We're almost back," he stated stupidly, growling inwardly at his idiotic remark.

The feeling was one she didn't know what to do with. That was the only thing about love she was sure of. That she was unsure. However she knew that there must be something here for she couldn't of been more happier around Dewstream. It seemed that there was no turning back from this now. She had gotten herself in deep and maybe that was the way it was supposed to happen. Maybe that was for the best. Hearing his remark she saddened slightly though a small smirk lit upon her features. "There's nobody saying we can't turn back. " Her voice was soft as she looked up at him with her minty green eyes. She wanted to turn around and get as far away from camp...as long as Dewstream was with her.
