i l i a A quick leap, and she was up on top of the brick wall. She blinked as to collect her bearings, and she jumped down. Her collar let out a little ring as she did so. She hated it. It being the collar. It was loose on her neck, but she couldn't get it off. The bell on it was a pretty color though. A blue. But it rang far too much, and it always gave away her prescense and that's why it had earned her hate. It tainted her beautiful body. Small, quick, and nimble, her paws carried her along the fence swiftly and gracefully. She sniffed the air with a pompous attitude, and then she leaped down off of the fence.
Ilia walked alongside the wall. A quick dusting of overnight snow lingered on the ground. It was only a little powdery, and it didn't clump on her paws. It's supposed to be SPRING! she thought to herself, a little irritated. She let out a quick sigh, and continued walking. She hadn't really stopped for more than a moment to look down at the snow with a demeaning glance, and then she had carried on. Her long and neat beige fur had a few stray flakes in it, but only because of her light impact onto the ground and inter a somewhat large pile of the white, shimmering powder.
She felt it melting underneath her paws, and she looked back over her shoulder. She rolled her eyes as her ears caught the jingle coming from her neck. She focused her eyes back onto the scene behind her. She could she her tiny pawprints in the thin layer of snow. She turned her head back and heard the sound once more. She growled and looked for something to help her get the damn collar off. She spotted a chain link fence and decided it would have to do.
She hurried over to it and laid her head down against the cold pavement. She pushed her head forward and then backward, catching the collar on the fence. She pulled on it, and heard the bell's ring once more. She let out a hiss and pulled harder. Then it all happened quickly. The somewhat thick material slid off of the cold metal and Ilia was pushed backwards by her pulling. She landed on her butt in the snow, and she stood up quickly knowing her fluffy fur would be wet from the snow drying in it. She let out a distressed whimper, and tried to brush off the cold powder.

j a m e s - - - [ <3 ] A humble looking smile hovered upon James' mind, and lingered over his handsome features, and dancing over his tapering, white-dusted muzzel as his small paws patted across the unforgiving concrete. His hurt; so scratchy and rough, not at all like the tender soil of the forest, where he would much rather be. But on the off change Gella and her kits would be in town, James decided a visit would be a kind gesture of himself. He knew Gella would appreciate it, and he himself wanted to check up on the kits. Keeping to the edge of town, he glanced around him, assessing where he was, then continued until his path was cut off by a fence. With a shrot sigh, he bunched his muscles, then tensed, and sprang, off balance for a moment on the small edge, then grappling his way along. Neither dainty or agile, this was quite a chore. fied, he dashed across and made it to the small road. It wasnt too busy, a car passing only once in a while. Town Square was some way away still. As far as the tom knew, that's where Gella and her mate resided. Watching for cars or other threats, he darted across the street, and found himself nearly bumping into another feline in his haste, jumping backwards quickly, James blinked. "Sorr- whoa." She was amazing. Did cats actually come this beautiful? Was this a trick of the light? His mind playing a fool? Shaking his head, James averted his blazing golden eyes from the beautiful Ilia and twitched his tailtip awkwardly.

She heard the soft sound of a car driving by slowly on the road near her, and then she heard the even softer sound of rough pads against concrete. She didn't notice the sound of the paws until they were behind her, and then she turned her head to let her amber lights look at who was coming. It was a tabby tom. Young..and handsome. He looked maybe a few months older than her, and she stared at him as he almost walked right into her.
"Sorr- whoa." was the only sound she heard then, and it was coming from him. "Can I help you?" her voice had a laughing tone to it, and she felt her cheeks grow warm as she realized his comment had to be from her and her soft and warm toned fur and her delicate amber lights. She flashed him a smile of her milky white teeth. "Or maybe you can help me.. Can you help me get this collar off?" she mewed in a sexy, pleading voice. She batted her long lashes at him and hen realized she was going to far.
She shook her head to clear her thoughts, and then looked at him a bit more hopefully. "This stupid collar has been on me for ever." she meowed in a sharper tone, looking down at her collar as much as she could. She flicked her tail side to side, and forgot about the snow that was o the ground still.

Golden eyes quickly fading to an amber-flecked green color, James tilted his head back up, meeting her shimmering brown eyes for a moment, then narrowed his own slightly. Not in an accusing way, more of a suspicious glance, wary of her siren-like ways. And he had seen plenty of beautiful she-cats in his lifetime, and not one had managed to suck him into their kit-induced craving for a tom. This pretty beige feline would be no different. "I- ..Alright," He purred softly, blinking with eyes more innocent than she could ever manage, he slipped over to her, close enough he flet his breath reflect off of her and back to himself. Blinking again, her raised a paw full of unshealthed daggers and slit the collar cleanly, noting the many scratches and tears in it already. This must be her first successful escape. Backing up, the brown tabby dipped his head, flicking his long ringed tail. "Leaving the soft life, eh? That's pretty rough." James murmured, glancing at the hulking beast of a house behind her, sheilded by a high fence that reeked of paint in the springtime sun. "That yours? Sheesh, why would you leave that thing? You'll be back there before the moon has made its gibbon." He meowed humorously, his voice holding no challenge. He didnt realize what he said until it tumbled from his soft lips. Snorting, he added. "I didnt mean it like you were soft. I dont know you, but if I were you.. nevermind." He laughed, golden eyes twinkling.

Her neck felt free as he neatly cut the collar from her neck. She was free! "Thank you." she meowed before he could say anything else. She listened to his words and let out a hiss as he doubted her. "It's not the first time I've left it. I don't like it one bit. I'm gone for good now, and I will never turn to twolegs again." she spat at him. Her golden eyes were narrowed into slits, and she knew the tom would be able to see the green and blues near her pupils for the first time. "Judging people isn't very nice. Especially when you don't know them. I'm Ilia, by the way." she meowed her words in a harsh tone, but lightened up with the last sentence that rolled off her tongue sweeter than honey.
"I'm not just some softy that can't be weaned off of twolegs. I don't eat the food they give me, and I don't let them touch me either. They just lock me in the house during the day, and they just... I like it out here more anyway. Everything is free, and the wind blows through everything. It's just..peaceful. Freedom is peaceful." she shut her mouth before she could babble on longer, and then turned her eyes back at him again. "Thanks again.. If I hadn't gotten that collar off they would have found me." she whispered the last sentence, and her eyes were full of fear as she looked into his. She wanted a life of freedom and fun, not fear of capture and being a plump cat that jumps at a bump in the middle of the night. "So.. What's your name, Mr. Tabby Savior?" she asked him.

Lids half-closed in a lazy, slightly bored fashion, golden lights took in the beige she-cat's graditude, and then, her explosion. He felt a moist splatter of her saliva dampen his small, neatly placed paws, and calmly wiped it away with his tail tip, glancing back up to meet her similar golden gaze. "Look, I wasnt 'judging', Ilia. You need to settle down. Get a leaf of catnip and find some sunshine and settle down. And not to knock you off your high-horse or strike you as rude, though I'm sure I already have, apparently, but I'm not concerned with your name. I was just on my way out, actually." The sleek tabby meowed, blinking innocently, and standing up, his long, ringed tail gently swaying like grass in the breeze. "And this is all very swell, but I really must be on my way, you see. I'm trying to find my friend, er- sister, Gella in town. Town square, actually. If you could just point me in the right direction, I'll be on my way and out of your life." James dipped his head and stared at her pretty, warm pelt, until his gaze drifted to her pretty face.

His words to her were harsh, as were her words to him. The beautifully pale she-cat cringed at his words, realizing she had been just as rude - perhaps more. Her golden and teal eyes looked at his eyes, and she opened her mouth to speak, but she snapped it shut once more. He was going to leave her all alone as soon as she told him where to go. She opened her mouth open once more to speak. "B-but. If I tell you where to go, then you'll leave and I'll be left here alone. I don't want to be alone..." she mewed pathetically. She lifted up her delicate paw and licked it, cleaning it of the snow that had stuck for a moment. The majority of the snow had already melted, but of course Ilia still tried to keep the rest out of her fur.

Shifting his slight weight from one side to the other, his golden eyes peered curiously at the beautiful she-cat with her warm beige coat and those sweet but sly amber eyes, staring him down with a spark of mocking innocence. It was a trick, this he knew. No idiot was James, for he'd made hsi way around a couple times, enough to know a siren when he saw one and here she sat, tail wrapped neatly about delicate pale paws, taunting him with her pretty little face all alight and pleading. Vapor visibly swirling in the early morning air as James let out a long, agonized sigh, the tabby turned to glare at her, but the cold look melted under her warm one, and he shook his head. "Ilia, you obviously think you can play me like a fiddle. Well you can't, but I'm not heartless and even though you claim that you're some tough punk, I can tell you aren't. You don't know what this world holds for you, so even though I'd easily be able to find Gella myself with the help of my old noggin, you can come with if you want, since you seem so desparate for a traveling partner." With another long sigh, the tabby turned his handsome face away from the former-kittypet, gazing out towards the forest. "But after I see her and her children, I'm going back to the forest."

With a frown upon her face, she looked back at him once more. Oh, c'mon Ilia. Even if he's leaving soon, you can still escape being alone for at least a little while. She thought to herself. "Whatever. Town square is this way." Ilia murmured, and then started in the direction that would take them to the center of Trenton. It was such a darling little town, and it almost made her proud that she could easily maneuver through it. "I still haven'y caught your name, Tom." Wondering why he kept avoiding the simple subject, she hadn't noticed that she had walked out into the street. A car had come forward, and the honk sounding from it made her jump back to reality. With a shriek, she jumped out of the way and landed back on the sidewalk. I must pay better attention!
