Ghoststar returned to camp pessimistically with her head hanging. They had no medicine cat. How many of them would die without one? The only medicine cat in the forest was Screechgale. She snarled at a nearby cat to get the hell away from her and pushed her way into her den. She sat down with a light thud and scowled. They could do nothing now without a medicine cat. It was just luck that Citrusflower had helped out with another queen kitting before for her to be able to look after her kits now. They could not go on like this. The mighty Ghoststar felt herself falling deeper into a dark hole and a tear ran down her silver fur, more following. She felt useless. She was useless. She could do nothing to help her clan now. She burried her head in her paws and blocked out everything around her. What did they think she was? A magic healer from Starclan?! She never noticed this before but her clan really were mouse brains whom knew little of how to look after their own wounds. Great. Just great.

Merlinsong followed Ghoststar towards their camp, trying to hide his small limp. It was nothing, he assured himself. There was nothing to his wound but a little pain and that could be ignored. Everycat in the clan had some kind of hurt, many worse than his. He could deal with it well enough if it was left alone. But without a medicine cat, how many cats would die of their wounds? Was there no way to save those who had fought so bravely for their clan? He ground his teeth in frustration and then let out a sigh. Stress was obvious at work here, as he usually tried to keep his emotions hiden. A tight hiss rushed out of his maw when he smacked his paw on a branch and the unexpected shard of pain made him stumble in surprise. Then, he was walking into the camp, watching Ghoststar snarl any cats away from her and then stalk into her den. Compassion for his leader could not help but worm its way into his heart. She had gone through a lot today. He sat down and began to clean himself of dried blood, thinking all the while. Perhaps what she needed was a feeling of normalcy. He could offer to go hunting. They needed all the fresh-kill they could get anyway. Merlinsong took a deep breath, walked over to the leader's den, and meowed calmly, "May I come in?" He waited a moment and then entered. The warrior saw that she had curled up tight and had her eyes closed. Dismay hit him when he thought that perhaps she was giving up on her clan.. No! Ghoststar would never do something like that! He swallowed thickly and suggested formally, "I am able to hunt, if you are hungry."

[[ooc;; trying to get to the next day as quickly as possible]]
Ghoststar raised her head, unhappy to be disturbed. She thought about the offer for a moment then sighed. She sat up wrapping her tail neatly around her paws to show she was not in the mood for friendly banter at this current time. "I think it would be best if everyone rested for now, then tomorrow we can start organizing things." She began slowly and kindly. "However, if you wish to go out and hunt I shall not stop you, but do so at your own risk, no apprentices shall be allowed to go out hunting until I have seen them fit to do so, please pass the message on. They wont be used to battle wounds at their young age, however I expect they shall be healing faster than us." She meowed. Realizing she was rambling she sighed. "Sorry I ramble a lot sometimes." She meowed apologetically. She curled up again in her nest and looked over her shoulder at Merlinsong. "I am sure I shall be able to hunt tomorrow after a good nights sleep, I shall be looking to stretch my limbs." She meowed and opened her maw to let out a small yawn. Her teal eyes studied the tom before she closed them and rested her chin on her paws. "Good night Merlinsong." She meowed. Trying her best she managed to fall into a restless sleep. Hopefully the new day would bring hope along with it. She had no hard feelings towards the tom, he just happened to pick a rather bad moment. tomorrow was her last thought before she was greeted by the cat shaped stars. She couldn't help but feel dismay for once while being in their presence.

Moonparody left the warriors den, feeling the warmth in the air, a little off uncomfortable. She was grateful for her fairly thin coat, unlike her sister, who wasn't awake yet though. The black she-cat stretched out her front legs, and gave a huge yawn. She blinked a couple of times, and tried to focus, even though the heat was making her feel a little sleepy. Padding across the camp she reached the fresh-kill pile and decided to add to it. She was eager to go out for a hunt, and would have liked to go with her sister, but she sensed that Cloudpatch needed the sleep. She had, after all, been hunting quite late the previous night. But even though being tired was her sister's excuse for other things, Mooparody somehow knew that there was something else on her sister's mind. Frowning slightly, she tried to shake off these thoughts and focused on her hunt as she padded out of camp.

Nobody's gonna hold me back It's Friday night I feel alright Nobody's gonna bring me down It's my life And I'm doing fine Don't you know I wanna play So take me on a holiday
The battle had gone just peachy, she wasn't hurt to bad. Actually she had gotten away with little to no scratches. Most of Celestialclan was that way. They all seemed to be fine, save for a few casualties. But what clan didn't have one of those...oh ya Vertigoclan. Sighing she stretched out in the den. She was comfortable and she didn't want to move. But she wanted to be with somebody right now. She wanted to spend time with somebody, a certain cat. Somebody closer to her than most were. It seemed that he was the only one who understood her though they didn't talk as much as she wished for. Rising, she let her long limbs stretch out in front of her. Jaw dropped as she yawned, blinking her eyes and flicking her tail. Quickly making her way through the sleeping cats she found Mudsplash.
So here I am Looking pretty for you They come and go So many faces it's no use So I'm dancing alone Dreaming solo Cause your love's the one worth waiting for It's just like heaven
Extending a paw she prodded him. Finding he didn't wake she sighed, prodding just a little harder before finally letting her shoulder drop and push into him. She didn't shove him hard, but hard enough to make sure he woke up. "Come on sleepy head!" Her voice was enthusiastic and ecstatic though whispered. Blinking her eyes, Hushpetal purred softly waiting for him to rise.

Mudsplash moaned the second time he felt a paw in his side. The weight of a cat sent him tumbling over and he lay sprawled out on his side. He opened his maw wide in a yawn and blinked his blue eyes open. Everything was so bright and confusing. He closed his eyes tightly again and shook the confusion from his head, when he opened his eyes again he was a new cat. The large tom bounced to his feet and chuckled quietly. "You will soon wish you didn't wake me up." He teased happily and carefully made his way out into the camp so they did not end up waking up another cat. He looked over his shoulder expectantly and smiled when he saw Hushpetal properly. His tail swayed happily enjoying the morning. "It's a little stuffy in here, shall we go and get some fresh air?" He suggested with another smile. "The air in my lungs could do with a fresh change." He added. Looking around camp he noticed Moonparody leaving and smiled. She was a good apprentice.

With unbridled enthusiasm he galloped, thudding paws even louder than the violent beating of his heart, through the tunnels, skidding to a stop just outside the nursery. Every tabby hair stood on end as he peered in, wide golden gaze filled with anxiety, and took a deep, shaky breath. He could hardly believe his luck; not only had he, as well as most of CelestialClan, escaped the fateful battle unscathed, but the milky tang of kits lingered in the nursery, a gorgeous ginger and white she-cat curled up in the center of it all. In silent awe he padded in, an exuberant purring rumbling from the depths of his throat. Four of them, pressed into their mother's stomach, miniature chests heaving up and down. Tiny, furry bundles right now, hardly distinguishable if not for their distinct fur patterns, but already they were precious. Lightingstrike flopped down by his mate, finally realizing just how exhausted he was, and whispered, "I'm home." [/blockquote]

Merlinsong felt a prickle of relief as she sat up to face him and bowed his head in acceptance of her stern but kind words. His tail twitched and he carefully hid a smile at her rambling, but dismissed it. Ghoststar had been through enough already without his laughter at her exhausted state. He flicked his tail and got to his paws as she laid back down again. "Thank you, Ghoststar and good night." He watched her settle down and then padded out, pausing at the last moment to flex his wounded shoulder and wince. Then he continued on to trot out and made for the territory. They would need as much fresh-kill as possible, as the pile was awfully low .

Citrusflower raised her head and gasped. He was home! She had never had her sleep leave her so easily before. Leaving her kits where they were she put a paw on Lightningstrike's shoulder and pushed lightly. "Wake up!" She meowed and headbutted his side gently. She smirked and looked over at their kits proudly.
Ghoststar woke slowly and sleepily, her eyes half opened before she closed them again and tried to wish herself back to sleep, but it wasn't working. Her dream with Starclan had been interesting, but they could still do nothing about her no medicine cat problem. She pressed her maw together tightly before relaxing it to let out a sigh. Standing up she stretched and shook the thoughts from her head. She was lucky that she felt like Starclan could not watch her here, underground. She knew that she was wrong, but the thought was comforting itself. She turned to leave her den but then hesitated, could she really cope with seeing all her clan mates again? Would they be a bit better, or be worse? she gulped and sat down abruptly. Her tail swept from side to side dragging along the ground, gathering dry mud. What was she doing? What was she really doing? That she had no answer to. Her face twisted in a mixture of being confused and just being plain messed up. Letting herself fall to one side she pressed her head against the wall of her den.

He let out a low grunt as a head rammed him, and he turned to glare accusingly, though his act was less than deceiving with a constant rumbling purr in the background, and the gradual transition to a tenderhearted gaze. "Come on, I just finished fighting for my life, and the kits need their sleep, too." His jaws parted wide and a lengthy sigh escaped, as if to prove just how exhausted he was. Affectionately he gave her a swift lick on the forehead, then glanced down to admire the kits. Two were ginger and white, just like their mother, the other two a tabby patterning, or a mix of that and white. It was impossible to tell which was the runt and which was the dominant one at this point, but he wouldn't allow himself to think like that. They were all gorgeous. "I missed you." he added, still focused on the kits, though he had slumped into a resting position again. [/blockquote]

Moonparody had meant to just drop the squirrel on the fresh-kill pile and leave again, but as she set the prey down something caugh her eye. A flash of white near the warrior's den. Cloudpatch! Padding over to her sister, the smile on Moonparody's muzzle at seeing her sister quickly disappeared as she got closer. Cloudpatch's eyes were still clouded, her head and tail low, and Moonparody was sure she looked thinner. Cloudpatch raised her head a little and looked her sister full in the eye, and Moonparody felt her heart tighten as she saw the pain in her sister's eyes, feeling the same pain herself. Surely, surely this still couldn't be about Nettlescreech? Moonparody hadn't seen much of the tom lately, but she was sure that him and her sister were still..Moonparody felt helpless in the face of this pain. What could she do, if she didn't know what was wrong? She moved closer to Cloudpatch and brushed her flank with her own, offering silent comfort. Cloudpatch said nothing.
The black and white she-cat closed her eyes. She so desperately wanted her sister to know, to know everything, but she just couldn't bring herself to unload her troubles onto Moonparody's shoulders as well. She would bear this alone. Her stomach twisted uncomfortably, and she realised she hadn't eaten for a long time. She didn't know exactly how long. As if her sister could read her mind, she went and got the squirrel she had just brought back. Cloudpatch didn't want to speak. She didn't trust herself to open her mouth. But she looked at her sister, and she thanked her with her eyes. She took a bite of the prey, and it tasted good. But she made herself wait for Moonparody to take a bite before having another piece. They hadn't eaten, or really done anything together for a long time. Hardly spoken either. Maybe, things could go back to normal. But then she remembered, and her heart sank, her hopes dissolved.

Tourmalinepaw wandered around aimlessly. She really didn't want to doanything today, though she knew a lot had to be done. They had to find someone to become the medicine cat, for not only those who are wounded, but also those who missed the battle because they were sick. She had been wondering this for a while, where had the medicine cat gone? Its not like she was gonna run off to battle but itwas wierd how she just vanished, oh well. She was too bored to do anything to answer her questions. She decided to lay off to the side, still in the sun, but close enough to the edge that she didn't get in the way but could be called upon if necessary.

Citrusflower giggled and pushed her nose into his fur once again, she was just so happy to have him back. Her tail batted the air playfully, although elegantly. She trotted back over to her kits and curled her body around them to keep them warm. Did he not knoiw the bad vompany you got when you lived in here for so long? She wanted to go out and hunt now, she wanted to run fast. However all her energy was being used up here in this den. Citrusflower scowled. "Look after them." She said and grabbed each kit by the scruff and placed them next to their father. "I am going out." She said with a proud smirk and skipped out of the den and into camp, she couldn't see many cats around. "Cloudpatch!" She called cheerfully and hopped over to her. "Come and make sure I don't hurt myself while I am out hunting, another moment in that nursery I would go crazy!" The she-cat insisted.

Cloudpatch inwardly groaned. The last thing she wanted right now was cheerful company. But she supposed that she might as well try and let Citrusflower's infectious mood get to her. "Sure," she replied, adding some lightness to her tone that was almost completely forced. Glancing at Moonparody, she hesitated. Moonparody shook her head though. "You go hunting," she said. "I'll finish off this squirrel." A smirk crept onto her face. Cloudpatch nodded and turned towards the camp entrance.

Citrusflower smiled then chuckled. "I mean don't get me wrong I love my kits, but there is nothing wrong with their father looking after them for a little while, they will let him know if they want something." She meowedand chuckled. They really were quite restless. She stretched out her muscles and smiled at Cloudpatch. "We should be going then, bye Moonparody!" She said her warm brown eyes glowing and padded off after Cloudpatch.
