Talon looked at the old barn, it wasn't much but it was what he called home for a few seasons. A feeling of desperation was gnawing at him. He knew something was wrong, he had a sixth sense about things like that, he liked to think that was the one gift from StarClan he had. But if they still had a link it was to weak to know what. He flattened his ears against the rain, if only he knew what was going on. Perhaps he should see a medicen cat. No, he would be treated as any other loner, it had been what he had chosen hadn't it? To help the loners? Of course, but now he really wished he had his old mentor there.
He shook his head, he really had no regrets, he was happy with his life. And he would find out what was going soon. If word didn't reach him soon he would check it out for himself.

Leaping inside the rickety old shack, her heart pounding against her dainty chest, though her sides hardly heaved, it was clear the very young loner had just had a bound for her life, but once she stopped inside the flimsy shelter, she yawned and laughed ever-so-softly, looking around with vividly green lights, widening in surprise when she spotted Talon. "Oh, um, hello there," She smiled sweetly. "You aren't going to try and hurt me too are you?" She layered on extra innocence just on the off chance he was another one of those fleabags.

Talon looked at the young she-cat, concern flickered in his eyes. "No, why would I do that?" He took a step closer. "I'm Talon, whats you name?"

Fern eyed him cautiously, blinking a couple times before shrugging. "I am Shell." She told him evenly, not convinced he wasn't some nasty rouge. Well, look where he was living! He was awful big, too. Looking away from Talon, she surveyed the barn, blinking away dust that fell from the rafters, birds noisily shiftling about in the roof. Moldy hay and alfalfa blocks collected mildew in the loft up above, a rickety ladder leading up there. She could hear all sorts of other creatures bustling around all throughout the place, up in the loft, down below, even outside. It was dim in there, and the air was thick and musty from the mold, but it was cozy, a good place to live. A shame this tom already resided there, for Fern did not associate often with other cats. Delicately, she raised her skull to gaze at Talon, taking in his burly, gruff looks. He certainly didn't seem friendly, but it was worth a try. "Would you, um, mind giving shelter until the morn?"

"Of course Shell." Talon had seen this before, it was hard for other cats to trust him, and he learned that not all cats should be trusted themselves.

Fern, graciously polite, delicately dipped her skull, her paws tingling, but she didn't know why. "Thank you, Talon." She meowed clearly, in a small, but proud, voice. She waved her tail slowly, as if it were a breeze, making it sway. "Shall I hunt for you? It's the least I can do, I'm not sure how many days I will need here, but I won't outstay my welcome, I promise." The spotted she-cat meowed.

"There is no limit on how long you can stay." Talon replied. "Hunting can wait, unless you are hungry in which case there's a sparrow and a couple voles hidden in the barn." He paused for a moment his eyes concerned. "What were you running from?"

Fern looked up and shook her head. That silly rouge was over-doing it, he needed to stop, for she was becoming very, very suspicious. Perhaps she wouldn't sleep here after all. He just looked so.. imposing. He was blabbering when she realized he'd asked a question, and her neck nearly cracked by the speed she looked around shiftily, and scuffed her paws. Then she softened her gaze when she realized she was glaring at Talon. "Rouges." She muttered.

Talon nodded. "I can see why you'd be nervous. But no need to worry, I'm not exactly the killing type." Was it that gang of fleabags Ally Cats? "If you don't mind it might be safer if you stay out of Trenton for awhile. You weren't injured where you?" He moved slowly away and laid down. Poor she-cat. The Ally Cats were really getting on his nerves. Acting like they owned the world. He would have to talk to Banana about them.

Fern sighed and flashed her fangs for a moment, nervous, not sure what to think of this strange tom. He seemed strangely gentle and tenderly caring, which was what scared her the most. "I was not injured, sir." She meowed clearly, unshealthing her claws and raising her dainty paw, slowly drawing her milky tougue over it. Talon would have to know that she could fight, and she was fast. Suddenly, she whipped around and more cats burst into the rickety old nest.
"Talon!" The massive golden tom yowled in greeting, his voice thick and hearty, a booming laugh always hiding in the mist of his speech, a smile was always tucked away in the deep shadows in the corners of his maw. Now this fellow was big and barbaric looking, but Fern felt a deep trsut imediately, which could have been influenced by the pregant she-cat waddling at his side. Fern nodded to them and slipepd into the loft to hunt. "Talon, the reports of these Alley Cat creeps is flying through the forest, through the town, and all around Madam Twoleg's pond. We gotta get a force together and get rid of the tronks." He meowed loudly, just then taking notice of the small she-cat, mousy, timidly darting about, brilliant green eyes flashing nervously. He shot Talon a questioning look. Talon's new girl?

Talon looked startled for a few seconds as his friend lept out at him. "Banana long time no see." He nodded listening. "I know." He growled. "But I think before we do that, we should get the she-cats out of Trenton." He caught Banana's questioning look and nodded to Shell or whatever her name was. "She was chased be rouges and ended up here just a few minuets before you." He smiled as he saw Amelia. "Welcome Amelia."

Nettlescreech left the forest behind him, he wanted to change he had to change. He also had to find a place to sleep, he did not know what lurked around these lands, he was strong, but not without his clan. He padded through a farm, farm's were always quite promising, usually home to friendly farm cats who were fat with cream they go fed. No. He would not turn into a kitty pet, he just needed to rest. He stumbled into the barn, panting heavily, tripping over his own feet he landed at a cats feet. He lay gasping for a moment, then picked himself up off the ground gingerly. There was more than one cat in here. He stood there staring. He could not forget the days events. He could not count how many times he had gotten lost. He could not explain how horrible he felt.

"Ohhhh." She whined, looking around wildly. She wasn't supposed to be here, only by curiosity and by chance had she spotted Nettlescreech running through the territory. Only Starclan had helped her follow his scent and finally find him here. She couldn't believe she was actually staring at him, actually watching him now without being caught. She was just a mere apprentice, and he a strong handsome warrior. How she had crushed on him ever since she was a small kit. Cirruskit had fallen for an apprentice at the young age of 5 moons, and now as an apprentice at 8 moons, she was desperately trying to hold onto the small chance that she might be able to tell him. Of course he would never love her, there were so many others chasing after him. Warriors...beautiful, older, all together better. Any tom would take a warrior over an apprentice, she knew it. Taking a deep breath she pushed her way through a bush, running up to him and calling his name. "Nettlescreech!" Her voice was full of worry, of hope, of everything her little heart could throw out there. In a few moment her ginger body was beside his and she looked at him with her stunning blue eyes.

Cloudpaw had finally run out of energy. She had been running for StarClan knew how long, and all she wanted to do now was collapse on the ground and sleep. But she couldn't, and by some amazing force of willpower she didn't. She caught the tom's scent on the breeze, and she lifted her head as she realised that Cirruspaw's scent was here too. Puzzled, she padded forward. The scent was strong here. An old barn loomed ahead of her. Quickening her pace she reached the entrance to the barn, and there she stopped dead in her tracks.
"So, Nettlescreech. Forgotten all about little old me, have you? You're quite the ladies man now that you're a warrior." Her mew was sarcastic and bitter, tinged with sour hatred. She still had to try hard to keep it from breaking though. "I saw and heard everything that happened in camp. First Amethystoculi, then Breakingdawn, and now Cirruspaw?" She again had to stop herself from screeching. "I thought you just preferred warriors at first, but no, Cirruspaw is an apprentice too, but of course prettier than me." She paused for breath. The fur was rising on her back and shoulders, and her brain had gone numb. The words coming out of her mouth were coming straight from her heart.
And then she simply snapped. Just like that. The crushing wave of anger and hate and immense grief simply became too much for her. “I HATE YOU!” she screamed at Nettlescreech. “I hate you.” She repeated the words in no more than a whisper. Eyes blazing, she continued, her voice now devoid of emotion, “Goodbye…tom.” She couldn’t even bear to say his name. Now, she laughed in her mind, she had hopefully hurt him. If he cared at all about her still, perhaps he would come after her. Well, she wouldn’t let him. Just before she turned to leave, she meowed, “Any idea where the nearest cliff is? I believe I shall jump off one.” And with those chilling words, she left. Running again, but this time she felt nothing. The world blurred. Moments later she found herself by a rushing brook, the roaring, continuous sound of it strangely comforting. A fine drizzle was starting to fall. She glanced around her one last time. She was in a grey, bleak clearing, surrounded by spindly birch trees. Dense fog had descended all around her. The water beckoned her, with its endless blackness and cool, mysterious spiralling depths.
And the little apprentice, who, just a few days earlier, had been almost completely happy with her life, fell forward into the river. Her last view of the world was the almost otherworldly, misty little clearing, before she sank into the ice-cold darkness.

{I don't know if you want to kill her or what but you can't leap into a river of Talons and expect him not to try to save her!}
Talon wasslightly confused by the little broken-heart play before his eyes but he shook it off went the apprentice threw herself into the river. "Banana! Get that clan-cat into the barn!" He shouted as he threw himself into the river. The chill nearly numbing his legs and he dipped his head underneath the rough current tiring to find the small she-cat.
