Emeraldfire hissed. The bird had gotten away. Everything had seemed to be turned upside down. The battle with MaliceClan, the deaths of Poppyfur and Flamingpaw, Radianteclipse's kitting approaching; the stress was overwhelming, and so was the grief! Chasmriver and Lilythorn were always moping around camp; Lilythorn was too upset to do her normal deputy duties with care; Chasmriver blamed himself for Flamingpaw's death. It was horrible. His ears twitched as he scented a mouse. He slunk down into the hunter's crouch and padded silently forward, into the bush where the mouse was hiding. His claws sunk into his prey's neck, killing it quickly. He picked up his prey, deciding to go directly back to camp, to check on Radiant.

dusty <3
and i took my love down to violet hill, and there she sat so silent still, so if you love me, won't you let me know
there she sat, staring at the glum sky, all alone. there was no wind, no sound of birds chirping, though she was completely contented. a soft, serene sigh escaped her lips, barely making any noise at all though it was clearly heard. lostdesire was now just a memory, she was known as dustedrose now. dustedrose loved her name, it was profound, and just so out of the ordinary. lostdesire was a sad name, one that brought back all the memories. but dustedrose reminded her that she used to be dusty, clouded, but now she was shining bright, without a reason to be sad.
life was good, ever since the battle, no ever since northy, she was a different soul. no more depressed sighs, crying in vain, acting emo. no, she could finally be regular now and enjoy life like she was supposed to. thank you, starclan. dustedrose rejoiced, a slight smile easing its way onto her face. the she-cat stood up, padding down to a few bushes. she closed her eyes and took in all the small noises that were present. a leaf crackled, a slight breeze whispered in her ear. then she looked around, paying close attention to everything. dustedrose saw things that she never saw before with the naked eye. it was like seeing clearly for the first time. she was transformed, happy, content, for the first time.

The massive, lean tom grinned, deviously mischifous thought racing through his mind, embers flickering in his smoky forest green lights. His rump waggled, only for a heartbeat, then he was flying, letting out peals of laughter that resembled a kitten getting just what he wanted by his own naughty doing. His outstretched limbs grappled, ever reaching, for her shoudlers, and then he made contact, and was tumbling, with Dustedrose in tow, across the forested terrain. "Gotcha!" Northwind laughed, rolling away from his mate, a foolish grin displayed upon his handsome face.

dusty <3 what was that dustedrose heard? was is... laughter? the she-cat turned whipped around, but before she could see anything it hit her. she was suddenly knocked across the clearing, landing with a thud. "northwind you oaf!" she yowled, launching herself at him all the while shaking with laughter. she batted her paw blindly at her mate and jumped backward into the snow. this is what good times were made out of.

Northwind smiled warmly, also batting out, not with much enthusiasm, but he caught her paw and held it, staring into her big amber eyes, her round pupils abysses, but filed to the brim with adoration, as he imagined his own were. Slowly, his lowered their paws, and placed them on the ground between them, the smile lighting his own eyes and stretching his maw, widening subtly as he edged forward, touching her neck with his muzzle, he drew back, and sighed. "Dustedrose.." He murmured her name, knowing she was already paying attention. "Whatever shall we do?" He laughed softly. 'kits perhaps.' He had a jagged urge to add, but couldn't do it, he didn't know how. But he wanted them so badly. But, of course. poor Dusty would be the one performing what looked so agonizing when giving birth, so he would wait, until eternity.

"Leave me be." He growled, batting at a cat that wished to follow him. He didn't want to be with them, he was fine just by himself. Ah typical Darkfog, what really could be expected from him? He was quiet, alone. He didn't want anybody near him and yet another cat quietly made her way towards him. Melting away the hard outer shell he had put up around his heart. He didn't want to be around the she-cats. They all wanted kits, they all wanted love. Toms he could handle. They were decent. They didn't mess with all the drama, or most didn't. Most were laid back and didn't bother him. They actually noticed that he wanted to be left alone. Bounding towards a Pine Tree he laid underneath it, letting his tail curl around his nose and closing his eyes. Maybe he could finally drift off into sleep....maybe he could never wake up.

"Darkfog?" A small, quiet murmur echoed from the shrubbery. A whisper, almost. Of course, he would grumble and snap and moan, because, oh dear, he had responsibilities. But Abysspaw's tolerance for her lazy mentor was wearing away, and now her brother was a warrior, while she was hardly half way there. "Don't bother moaning, why don't you actually appraoch someone, like say, maybe, Lynxstar, and get rid of me for once. Because clearly you'd rather not take responsibility in your clan, and I, clearly, would like to. Chasmpaw is now Chasmriver, and I'm still Abysspaw. And, not to complain, but it sucks." She took a sharp breath, narrowing her brilliant blue eyes for a moment, then opening them fully. "So either step up, or step down." She finished off, studying her paws intensely for fear of his reaction, but she could guess what it would be. Darkfog would huff, glare, and storm off to find another tree to wither away under.

dusty<3 the air was filled with silence, but it wasn't bad. it was the good kind of silence. the one where you and your love feel when you share a thousand words without even speaking a word. her heart rate increased as northwind caught her paw and stared into her eyes. she stared back into his, savoring the moment. it completely stopped as northy touched her neck with his muzzle. when he spoke, she closed her eyes and thought for a moment. it seemed like there was something he wanted to add but dustedrose couldn't convince herself to think it. "kits..." she said softly with a whisper.

A sharp intake of breath, almost a gasp, but not quite. Exhaling, a purr escaped his lips, and his eyes sharply flicked over to meet hers. "Dustedrose.." He murmured apoligetically. "Not if you don't want them Dusty," He murmured, pressing his big lean frame against her smaller one, bretahing deeply. "But, um, yes. Pretty much. Wouldn't that be just.. wonderous?" He purred, lowering his head to rest on her shoulder, a small smile still lingered upon his maw, shadowing the corners.

Hearing his name he rolled his eyes behind his lids. Ears took in the words of Abysspaw, let her whine and complain. He didn't care. At least not at the moment, he wanted nothing more then for her to go away. But she wouldn't. She would never do that, the only way possible was if he went and talked to Lynxstar. But he couldn't do that, she'd see him as a failure. Maybe that was the answer though. No it wasn't. It never was. Grumbling softly he let his lids open and his intense gaze settle upon his apprentice. Shaking his pelt he stood, his gruff deep voice rumbling from within. "Come on then." Giving a quick short laugh he flicked his tail for her to follow. They would train if she wanted, let them train. He wouldn't be taking it easy. If she wanted to be a warrior then he'd make her a warrior starting now.

Straightening her spine, Abysspaw glared, her blue eyes cold and unfaltering, meeting Darkfog's gaze sharply, she nodded, not allowing surprise to leak through her guard, the she-cat curled her lips in a half hearted smile, but she said nothing. Her lips hardly parted. She could take a sharp guess at what he'd do next, and, grimly satisfied that she'd actually nudged the sorrowfully lazy tom off of his tail, she followed. Her long black tail was straight in the air; a flag of victory. One point for Abysspaw.

White paws dusted the soil of the forest floor, leaving a slight print, that quickly faded again. Only her scent lingered where she had been. She was set on going hunting alone for a while, but scenting Darkfog caught her off guard. For a while she tried to ignore his scent blowing towards her but in the end she couldn't, were Starclan trying to say something? She hissed and followed his scent that mixed with Abysspaw's. She slipped awkwardly through the forest and emerged from the undergrowth, to walk in step with the warrior. Silence was expected, it would be greeting enough for her, neither acceptance nor denial.

Glaring back towards Abysspaw as she trailed behind a few steps he continued on. Marching through the territory, not sure where they'd stop just yet. They'd be working on fighting skills do doubt, and he wasn't going to take it easy. An enemy didn't take it easy on an apprentice, neither would he. Suddenly aware of another presence he calmly glanced at the white she-cat by his side. Serenewinter. She was a beautiful and magnificent creature, though he would never let that enter his mind as an emotion. It was simply an observation, and was not tied to what he felt in any way possible. He did not greet her, he didn't greet anybody. Silence was his thing. He talked when needed and never wasted his breath. Allowing his tail to brush the white warrior's side he noted that would be his greeting. It was a decent greeting of clanmates, more then he had ever taken note or part of before.

She slipped silently through the entrance, glancing at Northwind and Dustedrose, always happy and together. She slipped silently through the undergowth, glancing at Darkfog and Abysspaw, annoyed to be together. She slipped silently through the tree, glancing around alone. She missed having an apprentice. She missed having a little sister, even if she was not blood. She missed it all; the life they had had just a few moons ago. Carefree. Relaxed. Nothing ever used to bother any of them. She looked to they sky, her eyes wandering aimlessly. "Cheer up Lilythorn." she murmured to herself, knowing she must. She was deputy. This had to end.
Her ears twitched as she heard movement in the undergrowth. She span on her paws, turning to face it. She leaped, quickly killing the prey under her weight. She covered it with dirt, and looked around, scenting the air. She didn't want to be alone anymore. Any cat would help. As long as she wouldn't be alone.

The small she-cat glared sharply back, and, suddenly seeing her favorite she-cat appear at Darkfog's side, Abysspaw sighed a big sigh, and plopped down on the stone terrain under her paws flicking her tail. Dipping her head sorrowfully at Serenewinter, what on earth did she see in Darkfog? The emotionless, lazy lump of flesh hadn't seemed to be able to appear appetizing in the face of anyone, but, Serenewinter? It was disgusting, and they were supposed to be training. "Fine Darkfog. Just fine, you know what? I'll train myself, I quit. I give up. I'll go tell Lynxstar if you're unable to, happy? No, that's impossible, isn't it? Of course." She sharply inhaled, and lashed her tail, flashing him a frustrated glare, knowing he'd never care, never regret, never know, or teach, or be, or feel. Of course, he'd shrug it off and take a nap, or something idiotic such. Because he just didn't care.
//there, she didn't ACTUALLY leave yet.
