Ali smiled wryly. He knew what Lilli was up to. And he would thank her later for it. Nodding to her as she padded off, he turned to Jerry. After she had finished speaking to Joey he asked her, "Are you ready to hunt now? I can wait if you want to catch up with your mom and Joey." He smiled at her, eyes friendly and full of happiness. Jerry was certainly very pretty. Hunting with her was sure to be fun. He waited for her reply, eyes gazing into hers.

Joey looked at her mom and smiled. "Hey it's no problem. Mom,Mable and I can head over to Willies and ... wait does Ali known were she lives?"

Ali considered for a moment, then shook his head. He had only really been on the farm a couple of moons, and didn't yet know his way around properly. He hoped the she-cat would tell him; it would help in future.

Lilli turned to Joey's voice. "Joey, I'm taking Jerry and Ali into town later. You girls go ahead and get to Willie's in the square. She lives in that little park in the square, under the gazebo near the lake."

Jerry smiled shyly at Ali. "I guess we should go hunt?" she suggested, with a quiet, yet beautiful voice.

Ali nodded, smiling at the sound of her pretty voice. He lifted his ginger head up to catch the scents as they floated on the breeze. Lifting his tail he turned to Jerry and meowed, "Mouse. Over there. Coming?" With that he turned and broke into a steady pace, loping towards the prey-scents. He came to a halt behind a little hillock, and waited until the little brown snuffling nose came into view. One pounce, a quick bite to snap the neck, and he lifted the prey proudly in his jaws. He padded back to Jerry and dropped the prey, pulling some loose grass over it to hide it. Flashing her a quick smile he plunged into the long grass again, ginger tail waving like a sunset-coloured flag.

Jerry grinned at Ali. "Of course I'm coming," she called. "Nice catch." she mewed, just seconds later after Ali had caught a mouse. She froze when she heard just the slightest noise. Her eyes focused on where the sound came from. She threw a glance at Ali, then padded into a rogue's experienced hunter's crouch. Her paws carried her silently across the short distance between her and her prey. Her eyes narrowed into slits as she blocked out everything else. With a swift pounce, looking more like a leap than a pounce, she landed on her prey, easily killing it. A small field mouse, smelling of rain was her small prize. "Shall we eat now?" she asked in a flirty tone.

"Sure," Ali agreed, picking up his mouse. He padded over to a dense bush that had enough room for two cats to just fit underneath and no more. Turning to wink at Jerry, he slid under the bush and moved to one side so she could follow. He waited until she was in before taking a bite of the mouse and gulping it down. he hadn't realised how hungry he was until the warm prey slid down his throat.

Jerry squealed silently. She was almost sure Ali liked her. She winked back, then padded in with him. She took a bite from her mouse, her stomach no longer starving since it was full of butterflies from being alone with Ali. She winced as she felt pain from the kits she didn't want. She shook her head, trying to ignore it. Would Ali still like her if he knew?

Ali noticed Jerry wince, and with concern in his voice, meowed, "Are you okay, Jerry?" Aside from his outgoing and charismatic personality, he was very caring and did not like seeing cats in pain or discomfort. Unfortunately though, he knew nothing about herbs and plants to heal, and when it came to advice on other things he was often completely clueless as to what to say. But he would help her in any way he could. He had certainly grown to like her in the short time he had known her. Sensing that there was something deeply wrong, he added in a lower, more soothing voice, "You can tell me if something's wrong, you know."

"Oh, I'm fine." she lied with a convincing smile. She could lie easily. That had always been one of her finer points...in a rogue's point of view. She quickly finished off her mouse, even though she wasn't hungry. She winced once more after finishing the mouse. "Heh... I'm fine. I just ate too fast."

Ali nodded. "Well, if you're sure.." He knew that he wouldn't be able to persuade her to say anything else. Finishing his own mouse in a couple of bites, he smiled with cheerful eyes at her and asked, "So what do you want to do now?"

"Well, I know that Mabel and Joey are going to go visit Willie and her new kits. Lilli is waiting to take me later. You can come, of course." she meowed, explaining her mother's plans. She smiled. "You will come, won't you?" Her smile faded at the thought of leaving Ali. Would he leave the farm?

"Of course," Ali meowed, smiling. He would go anywhere with Jerry. And he did really like kits. "So should we go find Lilli now, or what?" he asked, looking back across the field through a gap in the little bush. The barn wasn't actually that far away, still within sight. He wasn't hungry anymore, it had after all been a pretty bug mouse, and he didn't like eating a lot in one go.
