Ali nodded to Banana as he came in, the grin on his muzzle slightly reducing in size. It wasn't that he didn't like the tom; in fact he liked sharing the odd joke or going hunting with him, but now that he was here Ali wasn't the centre of attention any more. He wasn't vain, just outgoing and didn't like being pushed to one side. But trying to compete with Banana was hopeless, especially because he didn't like competing with his friends, unless it was for fun. Feeling slightly less cheerful than he had been upon entering the barn, Ali slunk off to sit in a corner beside a stack of hay. It wasn't like anyone would miss him, he decided, looking at his paws and wondering how to kill time until the rain stopped.

"Eh? What I miss?" Lilli mewed, coming out of her unexpected sleep. She looked down at all the cats. "Who's party? I must have lost my invintation." she mewed jumping down. "Hey Banana" she mewed at the tom, then she spotted the she-cat.
"I'm Lilli." she mewed. "And this, is my farm."

Joey felt nervous as she returned to the spot she was born. It had been so long since she left. Her paws were starting to feel like lead. What would she say? It was to late to turn back now. "Mom? Mom, is that you?"

"Joey!" Lilli screeched as she heard the voice. She raced over to Joey barreling into her, covering her daughter in licks of affection and love. "You're soaked! Worse than Mabel was!"

Mabel looked up to see her sister Joey entering the farm. She was just behind her mother in rushing over to meet her. She gave her sister a playful and affectionate head-butt. "I have missed you, I haven't seen you or mum since we all left." She meowed hastily. Her tail twitched with excitment, it was always good to see Joey. She had gotten along with all her sisters apart from Jerry, she didn't get on very well with her.[/size

Lilli smiled. It was a bittersweet smile, missing the other two children still, especially Jerry. "Joey, have you seen Jerry?" she asked with a worried tone in her voice. She knew Willie would be fine where she was, with her friends and kits, but where would Jerry be in the midst of all this? Lilli hoped Jerry was alright as she had an idea. "Girls, how about visiting your sister? Willie hasn't seen you in forever, and she can't leave her kits alone to come here." she meowed. "As soon as the rain lets up." she added quickly, noticing that Ali had loped off into a corner. She left the girls alone so they could catch up and padded over to Ali. "Now what's wrong with you?" she mewed. She liked Ali. He would be a nice mate for some cat someday. Maybe even one of my daughters! she thought with a smile.

"Me?" Ali mewed, looking at Lilli as she came over. He hesitated, wondering if he should explain to the friendly she-cat what was really bothering him. But he knew she liked Banana, and he didn't want her to think he didn't. She might interpret what he was saying a different way. So he just shook his head slightly, and meowed, "Nothing's wrong." He scolded himself for not explaining. He often avoiding talking about his feelings, even though he knew it was better to let them all out. "You wanna come hunting when the rain stops?" he asked her. It would be better if he had someone with him.

Lilli shrugged. "Sure I guess. I could use some fresh prey instead of the mice in here." she said, nodding her head in the direction of the other cats and the center of the barn.

Joey felt tears come to her eyes. It was so good to be home. "Mom! Mabel! I missed you so much!" She shook her head. "No I haven't seen Jerry. I actually haven't been around lately, been doing a lot of traveling." She turned to Mabel and jumped on her in a play tussle. "You think you can finally stand a chance against me?" She taunted as a playful smile came to her face.

Lilli smiled as she looke upoun her daughters, together at last. She frowned, missing Jerry and Willie even more. They were not there... Her heart was being slowly torn apart by missing her other daughters, and seeing the others happily playing together.
Thunder in the distance, the rain began to lighten up, meaning Lilli's quick hunt with Ali, then off to Trenton, to see Willie and her kits.

Ali pricked up his ears, listening to the sounds outside the barn. The drumming of the rain on the roof had stopped, and as he padded nearer the door her could see that the sky was brightening up. He lifted his tail and called to Lilli, "The rain's stopped. Coming?" And he took a deep breath of the fresh air, smelling the rain and with it the scents of prey. He lciked his lips. Time for a quick hunt.

Lilli nodded at Ali. She slipped out the door and took the lead, jumping over the fence into the pasture full of fresh prey.
Her eyes scanned the field. The familiar orange and white pelt was no where to be found. Movement in the corner of her eye made her turn her head. It was exactly who she was looking for. She ran towards the cat, the first signs of the kits growing inside her were starting to show. She put on a smile she hadn't used in forever. "Mom!" she called, her voice ringing in her ears. She had gotten used to the silence around her.
"Mom!" was music to her ears. Lilli looked up. Jerry! She raced toward the cat she had missed so much, nearly colliding with her daughter. Lilli pressed her muzzle to Jerry's. It had been long. Too long. She pressed her side into Jerry's and noticed something. "Jerry?" she mewed in a concerned voice. Kits? At her young age?
Jerry came back to reality. It was great to be home, but the horrible things that had happened to her in the past weeks. It was enough to make her want to never smile again. Making her feel like she would be better off drowning her own self in a river, or stream. Then she saw him. Her eyes glued to the handsome Tom.
Lilli followed Jerry's gaze to Ali. She chuckled. "That's Ali. He comes and visits sometimes. Seems to hang around here a lot." she meowed to her daughter.
Jerry nodded, eyes still glued to Ali. It was love at first sight. Her scratches and the kits no longer bothered her. She had fallen in love, nothing else mattered.
"Jerry? Jerry? Hello?" Lilli mewed. She looked back to Ali and called, "Ali, get over here! This is another one of my daughters, Jerry. Do you know her or remember her?" she asked him.
Jerry didn't remember HIM. He would have stuck in her mind if she had met him before. She smiled a sweet smile at him, then Lilli whispered something to her.
"What?!" she screeched. "Joey?! Mabel?!" Her voice rang out loud and clear, loud enough to be heard in the barn most likely.

Ali stood to one side as Lilli padded past him. He followed a few rabbit-lengths behind, taking a steady pace. Leaping over the fence he landed on some soft grass, thankfully missing the muddy puddle to his left by a whisker. That could have been embarrassing. Looking up, he saw that Lilli had run ahead and was now standing beside another cat, who was looking in his direction. He heard the delighted voices and padded over, ears pricked. Lilli introduced the cat as her daughter, Jerry. Ali lifted his tail in greeting and meowed, "Hi, Jerry," to the pretty she-cat, smiling back at her. He guessed that mother and daughter hadn't seen each other for a while, and probably wanted to catch up. Perhaps afterwards Jerry could come hunting with them.

Joey looked up. "Jerry!" She ran up to her sister and began snuggling her. "Wow I was just expecting to see mom but now I'm feeling a little overwhelmed!"

Lilli laughed. "Ali, how about Jerry takes my place on the hunt?" she meowed, heading towards the barn. "I can tell Mabel and the others that she's here." she finished, apparently not waiting for an answer from Ali. She turned around and winked at him, definately playing little Miss Matchmaker.
Jerry's stomach replied with a growl at the mention of hunting. She smiled and laughed at her sudden hunger. She also smiled at the idea of hunting with Ali. "Ok, mom." she mewed, just before Lilli was out of earshot. She nodded to Joey. "I expected to just see mom too." Jerry replied to her sister.
