He had fallen in the river. How stupid could one cat get?! Falling in a river, nearly drowning a moon ago had left him with a cough and it pained his chest. Every time he coughed, it seemed to get worse, and every time he coughed a sharp pain would stick him in the chest. It was now he decided to go check in with Rainflower. It was best to check in with the medicine cat, though he didn't wish to go see the pretty she-cat. As much as he didn't want to admit the possibility of falling for a medicine cat the truth was that he was falling and falling hard. He had not told anybody, not even his sister whom he consulted in daily. He would never tell anyone of his secret crush on the medicine cat of his clan. It was forbidden....he could not have her. It would be frowned upon by his clan and Starclan. The warrior rode was enforced for a reason....and those reasons he had to abide by. Poking his skull into the den he gave a shudder as the wind picked her scent up and floated it along towards him.
"Rainflower??
Suddenly a coughing fit over-took him and he walked in slowly. He didn't want to startle the she-cat.

Rainflower turned to the warrior entering her den. "Great Starclan!" She mewed. "What happened?" She mewed, worry present in her voice. Rainflower quickly made a small bed of moss. "Here. Lay down." The medicine cat could already sense that the tom needed sleep. She hurried over to her herbs and pulled out several poppy seeds, along with nettles and borage root.
((Short post... I'm sorry))

Hearing her first exclamation, Omencurse gave a short laugh which turned into a coughing fit. Reluctantly he obeyed Rainflower's instructions to lay down, he didn't want to stay in here any longer than he had to. It would be sheer embarrassment if he let his tongue slip on even one word and she found out that he loved her. It would kill him, break him into pieces...not to mention make the whole clan mad at him. Watching her nimbly pull out the herbs she needed he piped up about what had happened. "I feel into the river some time ago. About a moon ago. The cough started and it's just been getting worse." Frowning at himself inside, he curled his tail around his body as best as he could.

Rainflower mixed the herbs into a pulp and packaged the pulp in a leaf. "And you didn't think to come in here sooner?" The medicine cat mewed. She padded over to Omencurse and layed the pulp at his paws. "Here." Rainflower nosed Omencurse's flank. "You'll have to stay here overnight." Rainflower shivered slightly. She was trying to push away any feelings she had for the tom with no sucess. You're a medicine cat! She mentally chided herself. You can't have feelings for another cat! Her orange ear twitched in exasperation.

As she padded over with the pulp, Omencurse couldn't help but hope she wouldn't touch him. He knew medicine cats were the kind that got all touchy and caring like. He knew the type, and he seemed to care for them. He had loved no others, no other medicine cats. But he had always felt close with them. They had always been his friends, even from the other clans. The medicine cat before Rainflower had been one of his best friends, much like a sister. Much like Dancingswan, his real sister. Touching his flank with her nose he gave a shiver and fought to not faint. He had never fainted before, and this just showed how much this she-cat could charm him. Overnight, he had to stay overnight? No he couldn't just couldn't. He would not be able to control his words....he hoped he could control his actions. He would be able to....he knew he would be able to. His actions at least, he could keep himself under control.....but he could never keep his words under control. No, Rainflower would know of his feelings by the time morning came tomorrow. And then everything would break into pieces...because she didn't feel that way.

Rainflower looked at Omencurse carefully. He would think that the she-cat was just being a good medicine cat but she really just wanted to know why she was falling for him so hard. For Starclan's sake! She mentally chided herself. I'm a medicine cat. I can't fall for another cat. But her mental words didn't seem to help her in life. In fact, the more she said them to herself, the more they seemed to push her in the other direction. And for a medicine cat, that was the wrong direction. The she-cat felt her fur grow hot so she skidded to the other side of the den, pretending to look for herbs. Omencurse would be fine with the herbs she had given him, but Rainflower was afraid that the more time she spent with the tom, the harder she wold fall for him.

Watching Rainflower dash over to the other side of the den, Omencurse couldn't help but give a sigh of relief. At least there was distant between them now. Eating the paste quickly he gave a smile as he watched her look for herbs. What could she be looking for now? There was no other cat that was in the den besides him and he had already been given his herbs. Did she needs herbs for herself?? Tilting his head to the side he set it down on his paws, blinking his orbs he licked his muzzle. He needed to find a way to get out of the den, he couldn't stay here. He was risking their friendship, and the possibility of him giving away the love he had for her. Rising to his paws, he felt the poppy seeds kick in and quickly laid back down. Smacking his skull with his paw he looked at Rainflower. "Ummm. Rainflower. Please don't hat eme or freak out. But I......I can't stay here without telling you. Otherwise it'll just be forced out of me eventually. I , love you. And it's against the warrior code and..." Shutting himself up, Omencurse sighed softly as he looked away.

Rainflower flicked her ears in suprise. "So its not just me?" She mewed. The medicine cat's eyes were pools of confusion. It was against the Warrior Code for a medicine cat to love another. How could she betray Starclan so easily. And yet, all she wanted was to curl up beside Omencurse and dream all her worries away. The she-cat knew it wouldn't be that simple. She could never tell another cat except maybe Shadewing. Not to mention she could never have kits. Would the tom still love her despite all the restrictions?

Her words flooded him with relief, and yet with worry. This was not going as he had planned. He planned that she would throw him out, vow to tell nobody, and that would be the end. He did not plan for her to feel the same way. Moving his skull so his eyes could look out the den he gave a sigh, night would soon be around them and he would be trapped in the den with her. He could not stand that. "Ummm. Rainflower I can't stay here. I can't. " However Omencurse could not rise to make himself leave, darn the poppy flowers. And darn the love he held for her. Sighing he buried his nose under his paws, glancing back at her every now and then.

Rainflower sighed and placed three more poppy seeds in front of Omencurse. "Eat these." She mewed wearily. "They'll help you sleep." the calico medicine cat padded despondantly to the far corner of her den. It was on nights like these that the she-cat liked to sleep directly under Silverpelt, to clear her head. The she-cat closed her eyes, pretending to sleep. It was easier than paying attention to the akward silence between her and Omencurse. Her heart hurt. 'Maybe this is why Starclan forbid medicine cats to love.' She thought to herself. The pain pierced her heart like a sharp thorn or an eagle's claw. How could she ever be a proper medicine cat after this? She certainly couldnt until her broken heart was mended. 'Shadewing will love to hear this.' She thought to herself. Rainflower wanted to talk to her friend but that would mean admitting that she had been willing to break the warrior code for Omencurse, and Rainflower wasn't sure she could do that just yet. The she-cat padded over to a smal moonlit puddle in her den and began to drink the icy water. Suddenly, her body froze as if it was encased in ice. She could hear cats whispering ominously in her ear, yet there was no one except Omencurse. The den around her began to darken steadily until it was pitch black. Rainflower tried to move her paws but she couldn't. An icy wind swept around her and the medicine cat's heart filled with terror. A cold voice hissed into her ear. "[glow=red,2,300]They come from afar bearing one name."[/glow] Rainflower could see only red eyes in the surrounding darkness. [glow=red,2,300]"Killing to them is but an evil game."[/glow] The stench of blood filled the she-cat's nostrils, as she could feel the blood lapping at her paws in waves. Rainflower leaped up, in fright, her blue eyes filled with terror. The darkness faded as quickly as it had come. The she-cat whipped around. "Who?" She yowled. "Who?!"
