Snow. Why? Why snow? Dear StarClan, it was well into spring, nearly summer for sky's sake! Why wouldn't those vile miniscule blossoms of white keep falling oh so sublty? Oh- just enough to chill a cat's flesh, not yet plentiful enough to coat the ground. Cursed with this weather, nearly every season, it was cold, and the angry mountain winds threw themselves at her sturdy frame, again and again, relentless, whipping the silky tawny pelt this way and that, though it was hardly long. Shivering, the massive she-cat seemed bothered enough by the cruel weather, but when One lived in these conditions for fourty some, fifty moons, they would soon give up the hopeless fight against the elements, and deal with it, one way or another. Her way, in this case, happened to be the still-warm body, clutched gentle between her jaws, cusioned lightly between feirce fangs. Dull amber pools were shadowed as she slid cooly under a tall, strong pine, who's long, drooping branches happily sheltered Lynxstar as she settled into a rocky niche, and set down her mouse. Warily looking around for cougars or snakes, or anything of the ravaging sort, the bent her neck and took a careful bite, closing her eyes hopefully, as if, when they opened, the snow, and wind, and endless slate sheets would be gone.
Sighing, she lifted her head once more, the faintest of crimson smears lacing her broad muzzle giving away her last action. Lynxstar stood, and with measured steps, loped further down the mountainside, the rocky landslide from many seasons ago. Her solumn, almost lifeless features were alert for any ZephyrClan patrols, though they probabaly would not bother VertigoClan's leader in any event, for the was nobler than to steal anything from the agile moorland cats. Alone she could still beat a patrol, without doubt, but her conscious kept her greed at bay, after all, she only wanted to take in the lovely scenery. The lake made soothing lapping noises as the she-cat settled herself into another crevice to watch the serene waters.

Snow. Great. Who cared though. Not him certainly. No Darkfog didn't care. He didn't care about anything anymore, besides taking the pain away. That was his goal, eventually all pain would be gone and Starclan would welcome him with open arms. But. Until then he was stuck on the earth, serving his clan. As much as he didn't want to he reluctantly did what he was told by his leader. If he was alive he might as well be doing something to get through the stupid days. Every day was another cut or two across his stilts, they helped take the every day pain away by replacing it with the hurt pain of the cuts. Many scars had accumulated, and each time he cut deeper and deeper. He was killing himself slowly. BUt nobody would ever find out, he would be dead before any of the clueless cats of Vertigoclan found out what was killing him. Sighing softly as the snow landed on his long pelt he headed for a pine tree. He didn't see his leader laying under it.....and if he would of he would be far away from that tree. HE didn't like Lynxstar in all truth, that or he did and he didn't want to admit it. Ducking under it he spotted the she-cat. Giving a soft growl to himself but a quick greeting to her he sighed inwardly. Laying down he curled his tial around himself and shot a quick glance over to her. He didn't want to talk to her, he didn't want to talk to anybody.

As the blissful lake melodies drifted through all of Lynxstar's acute senses, taking her to another world of paradise, the snow, softly caressing her thick coat, no long bothered her, and her dryad friend was being quite friendly and taking more of the wind, letting it glance off its thick, rough trunk and absorbing it with its weak needles, falling around her everytime a gust flew. Cobby forelegs were splayed out before her, long ivory claws peeking out of their shealths disobidiently, they curves onto the cold stoen beneath her, scraping quietly against it every so often. ynxstar couldn't help but wonder, even in her little lake paradise, what her clan was up to, at camp, in the patrols, were they happy? Did they mind the snow? The wind? Their leader? Slowly, she shifted, letting all the thought slip away, a small nap seeming awfully tantalizing at that one moment. Looking up, she sighed, hopes dashed as she saw one of her young warriors saunder into her little lakeveiw hideout. She couldn't help it, couldn't she have a moment alone? No. O course not, she was leader! But then again, he was Darkfog. Had she ever heard him talk? Unlikely. It didn't seem he would bother her, and it didn't seem he wanted her company, then why was he even here? Warily, she spoke:
"Can I help you?""

Quiet. Yes he was quiet. He didn't like to talk to other cats, let alone higher cats in rank. Watching her with his pale gray eyes he lay his head down upon his paws. His auds twirled to catch the voice of his leader, "Can I help you?". Snorting at her question he picked himself up from the ground and let his paws slide across the rocks in a fluid motion. His tail twitched a good-bye as he headed down towards the lake, sleet, snow, wind and all. He didn't care. he never cared. Glancing back at the tree where he left his leader laying he trudged down to find a rock crevice where he could lay. He didn't want to freeze to death, actually he did. That would be better than staying here his whole stupid life.

Always so silent, little emotional wimp. Silence. Usually, it was a blessing, assuring her utter peace, if only for a heartbeat or two, but this? This was unacceptable. arrogent young toms did not ignore their leader and simply... walk away from her! Gray tinted amber pools shifted, flowing to the corner of her eye, where Darkfog exited her vision. Raising her skull with the slightest swift motion, the somber-faced leader unfurled all four limbs, paws pulling her away from her needle-carpeted hideout, and swung her head around, glancing over her shoulder, and snorted at the tom as he mosied away so carelessly. She did not care for such a disrespectful soul, never like those toms, never would.
"You had better not cross the border, tom,"
She called after him in a genlte voice as he sauntered closer to the water, it was unfortunate that only ZephyrClan and TempestClan had lake access, but if Darkfog wanted to enjoy the crisp water so bad, he could go to one of the many cool mountain springs, or he'd be facing more wrath than that of a ZephyrClan patrol. She let out a little sigh, shaking her head as she watched him, a scowl slowly edging over her eyes, darkening them.

Watching as the she-cat leader walked his way he couldn't help but turn and face the lake once again. Flattening his auds against his skull he shifted his body weight. His feet were falling asleep from staying underneath him with almost no blood circulation. Hearing her words he couldn't help but laugh. He was simply enjoying the quiet, calm lake. He would never think of going over the border, what stupid cat would. Still looking towards the lake his gray eyes focused in on a tree in the Zephyrclan range...at least they focused in the best they could. The young warrior was loosing his sight a little more every day. His vision would become just a little more blurry. Eventually he would loose it...but not for a good 35-40 moons. He didn't want to answer, like most days. But he decided he would for once.
"How stupid do you think I am? Do you think I don't talk because I don't know how? I know how to talk, and I know where my loyalties lie. "
His voice was gruff and hoarse. It hadn't been used much, but this was just how he talked. He would remind most of his father as he grew. But his looks were nothing like his father, nor his mother. He was a white cat, they were black and silver. Giving her a swift look as he rose his body up and began to pad away, the snow picked up and began to engulf his white body. It was easy to slip away from others in the lands of Vertigoclan.
((ehhh it;s okay))

The climax of disrespect that lingered in the wayward tom's rough voice sent a jolt of anger down Lynxstar's spine. How could he possibly dare it? Just because he was wishing for death, useless to the clan for how he slunk about, it did not give him rights to speak that way to Lynxstar, no matter how much he wanted cats to feel bad for him, unintelligent fool! Surprising even herself, Lynxstar let out a low, quiet growl of distress, meeting Dakrfog's gray eyes for a moment, her angered gazing bore into his long fur. Pitiful creature. "Surely not to me!" Her voice was cold as he moped away, she couldn't help but smile, shaking her head. Some cats, they had a reason to be depressed like this tom, but he? No, he was just pathetic, a sad, distant tom who thought no one loved him, and begged for attention by being invisible. He didn't have a reason for this, nope, he just liked it when cats looked at him and felt bad, ungrateful lump of fur! A foolish smile was still lingering as she settled back down, glad he was now gone. She knew he wouldn't bother speak to her, ever again most likely.

A golden tom walked up behind his leader. He tossed his broad head confidently and padded closer to Lynxstar, his massive paws leading him. The tom wanted to seem sure of himself in front of his leader. He wanted her to trust him as a warrior in his clan. He wouldn't have approached at all but he had heard the exchange between Lynxstar and Darkfog. Sunstrike reasoned that it was better to admit he had been lurking than to try to sneak away. His golden fur would probably stand out amoung the terrain and Lynxstar would be even more angry that he had been sneaking around and trying to get away with it. "Don't let Darkfog get to you." He mewed, naming the Vertigoclan tom that seemed to purposefully isolate himself from the rest of the clan. "We've tried talking to him, but he doesn't respond." Sunstrike laughed.
