"What have you done?!? I though I could trust you!" Lostdesire's eyes took in the image of her "mate" as she unraveled the real truth. A rage burned inside of her, threatening to comsume her from the inside. Sadness ate away at her core. Nothing could describe the was Lostdesire felt. Nothing. As all the bad memories swirled around, making Lostdesire dizzy, she screamed, "NO MORE!" Blackness. Nothing left to see.
Waking up to her own cries, Lostdesire blinked a few times to awaken herself. Was that a dream? Lostdesire had woken herself up, that should be an accomplishment. I hope I didn't wake anyone up!" Attention was the last thing she wanted. Prowling out of the warrior's den, Lostdesire picked up some fresh kill from the pile and settled down in an isolated area by herself. She tore at it savagely and finished in a matter of a few huge bites.

Yet another feline was up and about, but for different reasons. Yes, he had wakened himself up. But only, in fact, to harvest herbs. Being near the end of spring, this was when stocks became overflowing. He had to keep them more then full, or he would run out of precious rare ones by the time leaf-fall rolled around again.
His mouth full of dock leaves and the bitter scent making his eyes water, the strong and silent tom headed through the camp entrance, patiently shaking any snow that stuck to his pelt off. It was a simple routine now to him, yet still important. Who wanted to be tracking wet and muddy pawprints through a den? This idea certainly did not appeal to the medicine cat of VertigoClan. Yes, he, Aspenfrost, was medicine cat. A dream come true for him. He never wished for the skills of fighting, but the skills of healing. It had taken hard work from his side and a lot of concentration, but it paid off in the end.
Blue eyes widened slightly in surprise as Aspenfrost spotted the lone Lostdesire half hidden in the early shadows. He was more then content to just head on by, but something hesitated. He knew she didn't have many friends, if she had any at all! It would do to at least talk to her. In just a few heartbeats, Aspenfrost quickly trotted across the clearing. The tom was nervous; He didn't want to be snapped at too hard. Placing his herbs carefully on the ground, the wise cat settled into a sitting position less then a tail-length from Lostdesire. A smile crossed his features, his eyes dancing with warm welcome. "Good morning Lostdesire. Have a good meal?" He inquired, hoping to receive more then just a 'go away'.

Lostdesire's eyes bolted up to Aspenfrost as he spoke to her. She blinked and took a moment to think about why he talked to her. It made her a little uncomfortable, but anybody who talked to her did. Though, she kind of appreciated it, nobody really ever talked to Lostdesire. Not knowing what to say, she shook her head 'yes' as her gaze traveled down to the remains of the piece of pray she had eaten. Lostdesire tilted her head up to Aspenfrost and met his friedly gaze with a half-smile. She looked back down at the dusty groud and just stared at it, imagining the dream she had the previous night. Shuddering, she lay her chin on her white paws and stared back in front of herself. Opening her mouth to speak, then closing it once again Lostdesire sighed.

Scars. Steady reminders of foolish courage. There was a fine line between courage and stupidity in his world and his scar-enlaced bodice was solitarily telling anyone who looked, that he had crossed the line a while back, going from valiant, to greedy. Lusting for attention. It's not like they could tell. To them he was the zenith of glory. Ha. Yes, glory, his ultimate craving. They never knew that.
Soft waves of crisp light struck his in currents, beams. They shattered his vision for a heartbeat, until it was all white, blinding, but slowly, so slowly, he realized it was only a dawn light, bursting through the pine needle-laden branches all around him, striking his scarred tabby pelt, casting a familiar brightness into his big, lusious faded green eyes. Northwind cast a wide, cheery grin, contorting his beautiful features, while his nose twitched, taking in the lush scents around him, his acute senses could even pick up traces of the mountain lake, far away.
To to valiant warrior, the morning was a chance to have himself, and he woke early every morn, to avoid the bustling camp, perhaps sit in one of his favorite rocky niches, at least just to get away from all his 'fans'. Had he earned them, even? Smiling, he tilted his head towards the shy morning sun, soaking in it's cheerful rays. For a moment, he was happy along with the rolling celestial body, but then.. into his nose wafted the scents of cats, and he groaned, hoping it wasn't kits.. or she-cats. And when he eliminated the scent of milk, or that familiar perfumy scent of she-cats, he realized it was just the medicine cat, Aspenfrost, and Lostdesire, who would hardly glomp his attention. Rather than stealing away this opportunity to be alone, Northwind picked up his bulky frame, and carried hismelf over to the two cats, and smiled. And greeted them happily.
"Mornin'"

Lostdesire's sad eyes slowly moved up to Northwind's bold, bright eyes as he said "Mornin." She sighed inwardly, knowing she'd have to chance to talk to the social tom. "Morning." Lostdesire's voice was barely above a whisper. She was surprised that she actually talked, something that she had not done for a long, long time. Lostdesire met Northwind's friendly gaze and held it for awhile. Her gaze held nothing but sadness and she looked down. Northwing probably didn't care about why she was sad. Though Lostdesire was extra depressed today, most cats were used to her sadness and didn't pay attention to whether she was more sad or not. The she cat picked at an imaginary piece of fuzz on the ground and she waited for someone to say something.

"Morning,"
His brows instantly shot up, surprised se hadn't given him an unfriendly 'go away' or just gave him a silent, subtle nod. This pleased the big tom greatly, and he flashed her a friendly smile, trying to keep her menacholy eyes on his for as long as he could. Her voice was surprisingly sweet, aside from the sorrowful tinge to it, casting a shade of bitterness in. He flexed his claws happily, and waved his tail. Lostdesire was always such a sad, quiet she-cat. He wondered curiously what had driven this into her heart, but he never really got to know her, therefor never knowing how she would react to the simple question... it was worth a shot, he figured, shooting Aspenfrost an unsure glance before speaking up once more.
"May I ask what's wrong?"

Lostdesire was surprised as Northwind showed signs of happiness. Was it she that had made him happy? Lostdesire had never remembered a time she had made anyone happy for many moons. Her gaze followed Northwind's as he cast Aspenfrost an unsure glance. What is he doing?" She thought warily. When the valiant tom spoke again, tears welled up in Lostdesire's eyes as she thought about her past. Looking back up at Northwind she sighed sadly. "Since when did anybody care why I was sad?" Lostdesire mewed, her voice cracking a bit. Yep, there came the doubt, it always did. That's why cats always rejected her, because of her doubt. For some reason, Lostdesire hoped Northwind would try a little harder. She felt like he would be a worthwhile friend. Friend. That word was a stain on her heart.

Her sorrow, and lack of trust.. it was washing over his pounding heart. A new friend? He lived for them, and he was now determined to somehow please his wary she-cat. He did not want to feel bad for her, no, he wanted to avenge whatever had plunged a blade through her heart. He purred and flicked his tail and shrugged, pretending to be nonchalant about the whole afair. "I dunno, your sorrow pains me, I'd fix it if I could, but I've got this sinking feeling that I can't." His handsome features were a painting of hope, for her, for him.

Lostdesire watching as he purred and flicked his tail as if he were flicking the problem away. His desire to be her friend shone in the tom's eyes and Lostdesire looked intently into them. Pools of grace, laced with the need to avenge-something. Someone actually cares?!?" Lostdesire felt warmth inside at the thought she might have a friend. Oh, she wasn't out of the dark or sadness, but feeling "happy". Well, what cats would describe her happy. "Maybe someday..." She mewed, her voice laced with mystery. Lostdesire's eyes danced around the clearing as she took in everything. Pine trees delicately covered with snow, a painted grey-blue sky, and clouds, grey clouds. "Even if I did tell you, it would be a mouse-brained reason to feel the way I do. Lostdesire's orbs flicked back to meet Northwind's as she waited for an answer.

She's playing hard to get, Realized Northwind with a good-natured snort. He let out a rugged purr, letting his rump hit though ground with a faint thud, white his thin black tail wove its way over top of his resting paws, while his foolish grin stayed glued in place as he studied her pretty, but sullen features, watching every move on her face, every twitch of her ear, every breath she took, studying his next prey. This friendship would be acheived, his mind was now set.
Holding his head high, he looked down his whiskers at her. "Fine." He purred, mocking anger at the distant she-cat, now standing once more, her let his tail hang low, and sway slightly, the essense of mock disappointment. "Well then," He finally meowed, his deep voice as cheerful as ever, "You don't plan on turning down an invite to go on a walk, would you?" Humor danced over his face for a moment.

Lostdesire studied the way Northwind payed close attention to her. She seemed to be prey right under the grasp of its hunter. She stood up, shaking the dust of her pelt and met the tom's gaze evenly. Lostdesire flicked her tail and let it hit the ground with a thud. She thought about what she was getting into. Northwind was popular in the Clan, but did he toy with she-cat's hearts? She didn't know. Lostdesire in truth, was unsure of all of this, but what was there to lose? She was already at the bottom.
Can I say no? That was more of a trick question it seemed. It would be impossible to say no, so she just had to go with it. "Nope." Lostdesire's voice was vauge as she pointed her tail towards a route they could walk. As much as that cheerful voice irritated her, Lostdesire seemed to be drawn to it.
