SOLACESTONE
Wind whipped through his fur, caressing the rough and uneven lengths and pushing them apart. His large, strong paws propelled him onward and through the moorland. Various hues of emeralds and radiant golds rushed past in blurs as Solacestone continued onward, his dusky viridian eyes locked onto the prize that awaited him if he pressed onward in the fast manner he was using. What was it that he was chasing? Why, nothing out of the ordinary. As the mottled tabby drew closer and closer, the speckled grey figure began to irradiate the sickening stench of fear. Frowning, the ZephyrClan warrior stopped short in his tracks. Part of him wished to not continue while a feeling deep inside of him urged him forward.
'Which decision would be correct?' He pondered, allowing himself to sit among the tall grasses of the prairie his Clan was engulfed by. His chase would be futile if he gave in now, and he would be quite a silly creature. Tilting his head to the side, he observed the brilliant hare as it looked all around itself, searching for its pursuer. A laugh burst from the solemn tom's maw, showing his true nature, as his prey locked eyes with him. Smiling, the tom shook his head in a 'no' gesture, and turned about to parade on the prairie once more. "In times like this, no cat should need to kill such a young animal." Solacestone uttered to himself, chuckling to himself and silently wishing the hare well.
An older, muddy-brown specimen emerged from a den not too far from the tabby warrior. Hunger ached inside him, and instinct took over. Little steps became lengthy strides and eventually evolved into large bounds through the heather that erupted across the moor in random splashes. In moments, the tom had gotten close enough to pounce on the new hare, and a bundle of fur was contained in his strong jaws. Warm blood spilled from the fresh carcass and dribbled onto his delicate, pink tongue. 'Mmm, breakfast!' Solacestone thought, and added a short prayer of thanks to StarClan at the end of his silly little quip. A familiar scent drifted into his mouth, partially masked by the hare he now carried in his mouth. Choking on a bit of fur, he set his bit of prey down onto the ground before he finally managed a watery-eyed greeting. Clearing his throat before speaking, he greeted the she-cat with a warm, "Hello."

*slatestar get off the ledge and drop the knife, not a victim of a victim's life. The grass of the plains seemed to glimmer in countless shades of green as the wind whipped over the land, forcing every leaf to perform an endless dance. An ashen-grey hue blanketed the sky, occasionally tainted with the deeper hues that spoke of coming rain or the lighter shades that promised an occasional breath of sunshine to warm up pelts and bring smiles to the faces of creatures awakening from the depths of a harsh leafbare.
Out in the open, the plains seemed boundless, occasionally speckled with tiny clusters of pines in the distance, and with the wind whistling in her ears and the feel of prickly young leaves beneath her paw pads, the she-cat felt completely content. This was ZephyrClan territory, her home, and there was nothing like the feeling of pure freedom in the flat lands. She couldn’t understand how those in VertigoClan or CelestialClan could live, sheltered and suffocated by the trees and rocks that seemed to asphyxiate one with shadows, stifling the air, when they could be out in the open, letting the breeze ripple through your fur and chill your bones and breathing in the scent of pure, clean, fresh air. A little smile laced her muzzle and she let her periwinkle gaze pass calmly over her surroundings. Her pelt stood out from the emerald surroundings, a bolt of pallid cream against the deep shifting greens, but in a clan where speed was the priority and cats had no need to blend in with their surroundings, it was anything but strange. The she-cat’s coat seemed to ripple in many shades of isabelline as the sinews below tensed and relaxed with each leap and bound, lithe and slender muscles that formed her willowy build, and her delicate paws never seemed to touch the ground as she streaked across the land, letting the wind carry her.
Out of the corner of her eye, Slatestar spied a flash of seal brown and turned, coming eye to eye with a hare, it’s bright glassy sabre eyes staring deep into her own cornflower blue ones. She grinned lightly to herself and fell swiftly into a crouch, her muzzle low and muscles tensed as she stepped forward, and with that, the hare bolted. A quiet laugh escaped her muzzle as she flew to her paws, racing after the swift creature, and the two flew across the plains, a tiny splotch of brown and a splash of cream. The lithe leader caught up with it easily, and pounced, catching it between her powerful jaws, her ivory fangs digging deep into its struggling body. Lifting it’s now limp form, she glanced around saw a dark figure in the distance, her ears pricking curiously as she was upwind and could not identify it by scent. Slatestar padded forward carefully, moving with an elegance that came naturally to her, and pushed gently through a patch of tall, slender grass to come face to face with the muscular Solacestone, his fur the colour of storm clouds, and she let a friendly grin grace her muzzle at the sight of her clanmate and acquaintance. “Good morning, Solacestone,” Placing the warm body of the hare on the loamy ground, her voice was quiet and calm, yet held a tinge of warmth and affection, a rare change from the frigid exterior she showed as the leader of the clan, ”What brings you out here so early in the morning?”

SOLACESTONE
As wind whistled about the pair of ZephyrClan cats, a smile spread across the tom's dusky maw, a tooth or two mischievously poking out from his dark lips. Slatestar was one of the cats Solacestone had always been quite fond of. Though they seemed to hardly talk, she was the one cat he had a vast amount of respect for. After all, it took quite a bit for a lovely she-cat such as she to run an entire Clan. He also found himself to be quite fond of the pretty she-cat, though it was not a full-blown "crush." Simply just a few feelings for his leader, that was all. Melodic words swiftly slipped from her as she greeted him, an uncharacteristically warmness to her tone. "Ah, yes. A good morning it is indeed," The tom replied with a confident wink. A short, nearly silent chuckle escaped from him, but his mouth muffled it, closing it in tightly. It was then that the mottled tabby tom let his obsidian shrouded green eyes drift from his leader's bright, periwinkle eyes, and onto what she had set down onto the grassy ground. A hare, much like the one the he had caught, sat on the soft and warm soil.
"Why, looks as if you've been chasing after these pesky little creatures much like I have been!" Solacestone cried, eyes flicking back up to hers, with amusement dancing in his for no apparent reason. "And, it seems, that will answer your inquiry, Miss Slatestar." He continued, softening his booming voice to what most cats would call normal. His tone also softened as his gaze continued to search all across the she-cat before him. Smiling, he began to mentally search for a topic of conversation, taking only a few moments to ponder, and letting himself look about his surroundings once more. "Y'know, I remember the day] you were born. I begged my mother to let me play with you, but all she said was that I would end up hurting you." At first, the tom had a quiet, peaceful demeanor, but at the words his mother had said so very long ago, he began to laugh. "The next day, I was an apprentice. Never even got to play with another kit." Tsking, the tom shook his head before returning his dark gaze to Slatestar.
"Odd, isn't it? How life's like that. One day there's something you've always wanted to do, and the next... you have responsibilities to take care of, and they consume all of your time." If any other tom might have spoken the depressing words, Solacestone might have frowned and grown distant. But, seeing as it was him speaking them, he began to laugh as his stomach erupted into a fit of rumbles and growls. "Excuse me, but would you be so kind as to dine with me on this fine day?" Solacestone meowed sweetly to the creamy she-cat standing before him, dipping his head to her and sliding his own catch over so that it lay between them. Tilting his head, he waited for her answer, a kind smile slathered across his muzzle.
ooc: i hope this isn't as spazzy as it seemed to be when i was writing it. if it is, sorry, let me know and i'll fix it. xD
