ROSEPAW
Every move she made on the slanted ground was an extremely cautious one. Her over-sized paws made ascending and descending about the territory of her Clan and extreme challenge, and it was something that Rosepaw didn't like too do very often. Any noise terrified her as she was afraid of another cat approaching her as she ambled onward at her odd pace. As her blue grey eyes traced the cloudy azure sky, she found herself becoming at home with her surroundings. If she remained as careful as she had been in the last few hours of her wandering, perhaps she might be able to bring a bit of prey back to camp to have something to show for her absence.
Opening her mouth to scent the air, the pale ginger tabby she-cat caught wind of a certain rodent that caused her listless expression to turn into a silent smile. Chipmunk! At the idea of hunting, the she-cat crouched down to the ground. Her underbelly was tickled by the various pieces of undergrowth beneath her, but she didn't let it phase her. Just as she could see the brown and white bespeckled body of the rodent, Rosepaw's feet tripped over a tree root and the pale ginger she-cat came tumbling down. She couldn't stop, either.
The land whirled past her as she let out a loud cry of, "WOOOAHHHHH!" before finally unsheathing her claws and digging them into the ground. With a sniffle, she investigated her body and found she had suffered not an injury but a few bruises. Her face was warm and flushed underneath her pale fur, but she was glad she hadn't gotten hurt. "Thank StarClan no one saw that!" Rosepaw whispered.

The tom made his way easily through the forest, obviously not bothered by the sideways angle that would have seemed odd to most cats not of Celestiaclan. His claws automatically dug themselves into the earth and plants as his shoulders and hind legs pushed him up the mountainside. His movements made little noise even though Frosthawk was not being especially careful; he had no reason to be. Today he was just out and about - no patrolling, no hunting. If he did happen to come across any strange cats on the Clan's land though, it would be to his immense pleasure to show them the way off.
A small wind brushed past the white tom as he stepped agilely across a thin tree root. His jaws opened as the breeze passed and air slipped into his mouth. With a new spark of interest, the male began to move on with an intention now in his stride. He hadn't ventured out looking for some company, but sharing his time with another was never a waste as long as he was welcome. A rustle up ahead caused the tom to pause and stare closely at a clump of grass. A flash of ginger told him that it seemed he had come upon another cat hunting. With a lazy smile Frosthawk sat behind a nearby tree and watched as the young she-cat hunted.
Just as it appeared that the chipmunk stood no chance and was about to be captured, something happened and the young cat let out a loud cry and went tumbling down. The tom watched with eyes bouncing as the bundle of fur kept going until finally catching her claws into the ground. Frosthawk gave a small sniff of dismay for the apprentice, for he had been looking forward to an excellent catch from her. With a light shrug and a small amused shake of his head, the pale cat rose and began to pace casually down to the tabby she-cat. "You alright there?" Frosthawk asked as he stared down at her with a slightly lopsided grin twisting his lips.

ROSEPAW
Pain prickled over her and she let out a short giggle. That'd been quite the fall afterall! Her dull eyes looked up the mountainside as her lanky legs stretched out. She glared at the anchors she had at the ends of them instead of normal little dainty paws that all the rest of the she-cats had. A sigh escaped her as she thought wistfully of being normal. 'No point in wishing to be normal, you are what you are, Rosepaw.' The she-cat chided herself before attempting to climb back up the mountainside. Her stroll was brief as she began to understand how to keep herself balanced. She kept a careful watch on all the trees' roots as if they might move and sweep her off her feet again. A small smile appeared upon the she-cat's maw just as she opened her mouth and caught the scent of another cat.
It was then that she began to panic. Embarassment flooded over her as she looked up to where an extremely handsome tom stood looking at her with his bright, blue lights. He was so intent on the she-cat's actions that she found herself almost weeping with discomfort. Someone had witnessed her great tumble! As fear crept into her cobalt-grey eyes, she found herself letting out a sniffle. "I-I didn't k-know anyone else w-was out h-here." The pale ginger tabby she-cat mewed, dipping her head to the beautiful, pearly white tom. Her eyes looked to the ground and began to carefully study it with ease. In the softened ground, she could see the individual blades of grass coming up and out to tickle her whenever she crouched down. To her left, a small pink flower blossomed serenely from a tuft of emerald grass, and she carefully pawed at the bloom with her right paw.
Glancing back up at the marvelous tom that stood above her, she noticed how he had tucked himself carefully behind a tree so that he would not fall down like she had. 'What a great idea that is!' The she-cat thought as she realized that she had begun to stare at this tom. Blushing furiously beneath her pale fur once more, she blinked several times before looking away. This time, it was the mountainside she found so extremely interesting. Really, the view of the lake was magnificent, but not in the same way as the tom. He had to be over double her age, but Rosepaw found her gentle little heart being tugged on by this looker of a tom. An adorable little crush has been formed by the little apprentice, and it could only mean trouble for her.
ooc: I adore this post. Frosthawk is so friggin' handsome that I thought, "Hey, let lil' Rosepaw have a little crush on him!" x3 Hope you don't mind. c:

A bemused expression caught the tom's face as he continued to eye the she-cat with mild nonchalance. It soon caught his notice the this particular cat was somewhat larger than most apprentices, or seemed to be. Large paws were stuck at the end of each of her legs. So this was the reason for her clumsiness! A low chuckle rumbled pleasantly from the male's jaws as he figured the mystery out. Everything became a bit clearer now, as he assumed that she walked as carefully as she did to keep from falling - again.
The apprentice's optimism then just disappeared and anxiety seemed to creep inside her. Bewildered, the warrior looked around warily to see if anything was wrong in the area, or if something dangerous was nearby. When nothing came to his sharp attention though, the tom's confused gaze shifted back to the she-cat, and it was then that he noticed that she was looking so crazily at him. Her whole demeanor had changed in a flash and her unexpected burst of emotion all but took the male off-guard.
Frosthawk would never let this be known though as he remained as he was looking down at her with a softer expression. "Whoa there now." The tom spoke slowly, trying to sooth the large youth. His cool, relaxed tones usually worked well on others, perhaps they would do him good now. Frost continued to look at her with concern crossing his face before fading away underneath an expression of control. The she-cat couldn't seem to make up her mind whether she wanted to look at him or not, and - oblivious as he was - the tom pinned these actions on embarrassment.
"That was some good hunting technique you had there." He meowed pleasantly, hoping to boost the apprentice's low-seeming confidence. Though he had never had an apprentice of his own yet, Frosthawk knew what young cats were like (he was still one himself at heart) and hoped to lift the she-cat's spirit, if not at least her gaze. How in the world could he calm her down if she would not look at his face!

ROSEPAW
She looked back to the tom just as he began to speak to her. "Whoa there now.
[/i]" He soothed in a deep rumble of a meow. Just that was nearly enough to make Rosepaw turn into a giant ball of embarassed mush! Her dull grey-blue eyes met his bright azure gaze, trying not to look away in her deep shyness. It was only a few moments until she simply closed her eyes and looked up to the canopy of trees spread out above her. Hmm, the tree that this handsome Warrior was tucked behind had the prettiest blue-green leaves on its darling branches. '[i[How pretty.[/i]' The large-for-her-age she-cat thought before moving her own little prettiness back down to the tom. Her lookers were the only thing that managed to make her feel self-confident, but that wasn't good enough with toms like the ones that lived in CelestialClan. Before she could manage to avoid his gaze and attention once more, the attractive ivory Warrior had spoken again, and in such a pleasant tone. He was trying to comfort her, and Rosepaw admired that. Hardly a cat even cared for her silly antics, but this tom was trying, and for that, she silently thanked him. " That was some good hunting technique you had there." He had said, and Rosepaw felt another wave of warmth come of her ginger dusted face. At last, though, she was blushing in pride for herself. It was a quality that she hadn't known that she had possessed. Shaking her head, she felt extremely humbled by his praise. " I-I owe it all to m-my mentor." She meowed with less of a stutter than earlier. After speaking, she let the tiniest of all smiles appear on her face, and refused to turn away. ooc: sorry, it's short! i managed it in before school. xD[/blockquote][/blockquote][/size]

This apprentice was different, that was for sure. She seemed to lack that certain quality of self-assurance that most of the young, reckless wanna-be warriors possessed. The tom knew all about that for when he was an apprentice, he was as cocky as ever and looking into a bright future of being an outstanding warrior. They were all humbled at one point, whether it was a busted hunt or a failed fighting technique, but this she-cat looked as if she doubted everything.
Frosthawk's head nodded slightly as her peculiar gaze rose to meet his own bright one. His compliments hit home as the young cat blushed in response to the praise. An amused chuckle rumbled amiably from the tom's jaws at her reaction before settling as he began to speak. "Who would your mentor happen to be? Because whoever they are, they are very lucky." Perhaps a bit much, but he had to give this apprentice something good for herself.
With a sudden flurry of energy, the sun-bleached cat moved from his stable slot against the tree and stepped out onto a low-hanging branch. With neat expertise, he leaped down from his elevated perch and landed smartly with four small thuds. Now at the same level as the she-cat, he noticed a few more small things about her. While she was a bit large for her age, she still did not quite meet his stature. Her eyes did have an interesting hue to them that the tom found very nice. Overall, she appeared to be a good, bright cat who was just a little rough around the edges. "Speaking of which, what is an apprentice doing out without her mentor?" The tom questioned slyly of her, his expression attempting to be serious, but failing.

ROSEPAW
Would her cheeks ever stop becoming warm? Why, of course not. As this tom remained praising her, Rosepaw thought she might as well place her heart in her head and keep all the blood up in it. A toothy smile burst from her - an oddity from this shy little gal by far! - and she let her blue grey eyes sparkle. "M-my mentor is C-c-creektwist. He's a g-g-ood t-tom." Her stutter had the tiniest sliver of confidence behind it, but it really wasn't much. Flying away from the handsome ivory tom was her amused gaze, entertained by this warrior's massive amounts of praise. Was he always such a kind tom to she-cats? It's what Rosepaw deemed most likely and left her feeling just as special as the next girl. She was, frankly, nothing special at all.
Frowning, the she-cat became distant and disapproving of the tom. Then she began to think to herself. 'If I wasn't anything special, would he still be attempting to talk to me?' She thought as her ears picked up a soft 'thunk' as something collided with the ground next to her. Whipping about, the pale ginger she-cat was nearly nose-to-nose with the tom and let out a loud shriek that was anything but coherent. He was a good bit taller than her and just a bit bulkier too, and he was entirely too close for comfort. Before she could step back, she hurriedly checked where her foot would fall and found a nice tree root to rest it upon.
Stepping back, she listened to the tom's next query. "Speaking of which, what is an apprentice doing out without her mentor?
[/i]" His question obviously amused himself as he couldn't keep the straight face he had so pleasantly greeted her with. " I-I just wished to get out of c-camp." She meowed, a bit flustered from the tom's last moves. Her eyes caught the details she had not noticed from afar - this tom was carefully built and had many muscles to account for. But, oh no, Rosepaw would not allow herself to become mush. Instead, she looked at him curiously, a bit of fear shining in her eyes once more.[/blockquote][/blockquote][/size]

The tom gave a small nod of agreement when the name of her mentor was mentioned. He knew the large, spotted cat, and knew he did his duties exceptionally well. There was no doubt in his mind that this apprentice would receive some of the best training possible; it was only her confidence level that would not stop bothering him. "I'm sure he's an excellent mentor." Frosthawk rumbled smoothly as the she-cat abruptly lashed around to face him, light blue eyes to bright blue eyes.
If anything, she seemed appalled at his proximity, and a tad bit frightened judging by her hysterical reaction. Instead of lunging back awkwardly, the pale tom simply cocked his head in puzzlement and drew his body back a small way. Perhaps she was a little under-confident and skittish, or she didn't like being jumped toward. Either way, something he did had obviously bothered her, and Frost was not entirely sure what to think of this. He hadn't done anything necessarily wrong, had he?
Her next words held a tone that had not been present before, but he could not place his paws on what it was exactly. As all of this boiled on his inside, outside the white male was just as relaxed as ever, his posture even falling off to one side as he loosened visibly up. "Well you're out now. What will you do with it?" Frosthawk replied challengingly, straightening up from his slouching position to begin to sway slowly away from the apprentice. His tail meandered fluidly behind, leisurely drifting from one side to the other as the tom's haunches rolls with his steps.

ROSEPAW
"Yes, of course!" The pale ginger she-cat replied to the tom's words for the first time with shining confidence and no stutter to be found. Her eyes grew wide at her tiny accomplishment, but she knew inside that her speaking habit would, most likely, return to her quickly. Licking her chest self-conciously, she looked to the pearly white tom and his brilliant azure eyes as he began to speak again. "Well you're out now. What will you do with it?
[/i]" His voice rumbled, inquiring such a nice question to the shy and awkward apprentice. She was just about to reply when action in the trees distracted her. Looking up, a beautiful sight greeted her. A cardinal flew from the highest branch to another - roaming free, through the air. Mayhap Rosepaw would be that free someday, from all the cruel cats that teased her. Looking to Frosthawk once more, she replied, " I'm n-not entirely sure." Ah, a single stuttered word. That was good enough a boost to Rosepaw's confidence. Smiling her first real smile for the day, she looked down across the territory and to the shimmering lake. Its waters looked cool and refreshing, but Rosepaw would never get close enough. The thoughts of swimming and drowning raced through her head. No, bad idea. Suddenly, a story of one of the elders stuck in her mind. Long ago, in times of great struggle and invasion, CelestialClanners had traveled through the territory using tunnels. Some of the cats in camp still talked of them, but privately. Rosepaw knew what she wanted to do! " D-do you know of the t-tunnels?" She cried, excitement flashing in her eyes as she asked the warrior of a Clan secret. The apprentice hoped he did, as a bit of adventure might help her. A story to tell another apprentice - if one would speak to her - might help her make a friend. It was also then that Rosepaw realized she wasn't aware of the handsome tom's name. Frost...something? She wasn't sure. " I-I don't know y-your name." The younger cat meowed, looking puzzled as she tried to recall a cat in their Clan calling out to this tom. Thinking hard, it resulted in nothing, and her pale cerulean eyes looked to the vibrant azure eyes. [/blockquote][/blockquote][/size]
