A soft growl bubbled in the throat of the sleeping leader. There was just something about him that made the often peaceful activity look slightly disturbing. His often sleek black pelt was ruffled and as his flank irregularly moved up and down with each breath he took. A grumble came from the maw of the large tom before being followed by him stretching out his muscles so much that his forepaws and hind paws were pressed up against the walls of his den. Rolling over so that his back was on the ground and his belly exposed he sighed loudly before forcing his eyes to open. He tensed for a moment since all he saw was black but quickly his vision adjusted and the familiar surroundings of his den brought him comfort. He already found himself walking through empty black space with nothing or nobody in his dreams, he didn't need it here too. Stretching upwards with his claws he dug them into the bark above his head and dragged them along it leaving more score marks in it. He remembered back to when he had first moved into this den not too long ago and it had been spotless but with his restless nature he couldn't help but leave his mark on it. Although he did know deep down that it probably wasn't a good idea to damage the bark of an old tree and it would come as no surprise to him if the roof of his den fell in. He was actually surprised that their camp was still standing but that was just proof that Starclan was looking out for them.
Rolling onto he stood up making sure not to bash his head off of the inside of the tree since that had been another regular mistake he had made when he had first moved in. For a leader's den it certainly wasn't very large and knowing the size of Tempestclan cats he had a feeling that he wasn't the only one who may have found this den slightly small. All the more reason to leave. Slipping outside he perched on the narrow path that led to his den and looked out over his clan. Everything seemed to be going well he stood up and put a paw out to take a step forward and quickly took it back with a vicious hiss. Lifting his paw he examined it closely for any real damage but the only obvious thing he could see was small beads of blood starting to form. He whipped his head up to glare at the area of ground where he had placed his paw with narrowed eyes. "What a great start to the day." He hissed to himself with a single lash of his tail and he padded gingerly down the side of the tree and stopped in the hollow at the bottom meanwhile ignoring the burning sensation coming from his paw. As he made his way over to Saberfang's den he caught a few smears of blood against the light bark of the tree where he had just been. Such a sight made a small smirk play upon his maw. No visitors would be messing with Tempestclan anytime soon. He took one strong leap upwards and paused just outside Saberfang's den before entering. Luckily for him Saberfang's den was closer to the ground due to the fact that sick cats were generally weaker than healthy ones, meaning that his den and the warriors den were the highest up. "Hey Saberfang, got any cobwebs? And don't bother telling me you don't" He called out looking around the den and wrinkling his nose and the scent of all the various herbs. Flopping onto his side his tail flicked patiently as he waited for Saberfang to appear before him.
Notes || Stupid shard of glass left around by Starclan, they should learn to pick up after themselves.

saberfang xx.
He had risen that morning, sleepy-eyed and a little bit more than grumpy, to the first hints of daylight that had peeked in the entrance to his den. Reluctant as always, there was still things to be done today, and no one else was surely not going to do them for him. Claws dug into the earth as the tom rose and stretched to receive satisfying crackles from his bones and joints. Time to begin.
Saberfang was a notoriously untiday cat; him being male vouched for that, and his quarters had become uncomfortably hectic with its piles of forgotten or misplaced herbs laying everywhere. So with a sharp disposition but grim determination, he had set to work.
Now the sun was beaming outside as the full force of the planet flooded into the usually dark space. With a heavy 'humph' the burly tom plunked to a sitting position and glanced around the tidied den with obvious satisfaction at the thoroughness of his cleaning. No cat could ever call him lazy, and if they did they could expect a gain a few well placed claw marks in their hide. He was not exactly the kind of character to share a joke with, not with his obscenely dry sense of humor that only laughed at the butt of the occasional cruel jest.
Abruptly, the flame-doused Saber rose and paced to the back of his den, assumedly bothered by some forgotten chore that he had missed. Careful paws sifted through a small bundle of herbs when the salty tang of blood wafted into his nostrils, and he was aware that he had a visitor even before they even announced their apparent presence. With a rough grunt that was abnormally close to a growl, the medicine cat emerged from where he had been and glared at his leader with almost a look of contempt.
Naturally, Voidstar would know better than to take that expression seriously. Everyone usually was gifted with some type of harsh stare when they entered his den, compared to some, the black tom's was exceedingly more pleasant, which was saying a pretty good bit. "Of course I've got cobwebs." Saber snapped from behind a pair of suggestive fangs. "But they're only for cats that need'em. Not for leaders who come to me whining about every teeny-weeny little scratch they get." The male's tone was oddly very firm as he spoke this, but a small glint from his vivid eyes spoke otherwise.
With a thin-edged grin that lasted only seconds, Saberfang dove back into his stash and within moments emerged with a small wad of cobwebs clutched awkwardly between his jaws. "What'd you do this time, try to attack a thorn?" The medic quizzed incoherently from behind the thick gob as he turned over his patient's paw. He eyed the wound shortly before spitting the webby material out and applying it over the source of the blood flow. His tongue lashed around his muzzle as he put pressure on the spot. Meanwhile, he continued to gaze at the tom with a questioning, skeptical brow raised critically at him.

Voidstar looked up with a half-hearted grin worn on his maw as he met his friends fierce gaze. "surely you can do a little better than that I mean it is me after all." He teased. He knew all about the looks that Saberfang gave others. Once when he was a warrior he remembered his apprentice complaining to him that the medicine cat wasn't nice and how medicine cats should be nicer to cats who are ill. Voidstar had not been able to help laughing at that and he quickly set the apprentices straight. It was true that medicine cats were stereotyped as being nice, kind and loving cats who would do anything for a sick cat and he was truly glad that Saberfang wasn't like that in the slightest. Well, beneath it all he could be caring and he was kind to those worthy of it but he only knew that because he had been close to Saberfang for a long time. He just enjoyed the fact that the clan medicine cat wasn't a mouse-brain who would take in any random cats wandering around with a scratch on their nose and that he was very practical. He also knew how to defend himself well with his claws, in his honest opinion he felt that Saberfang was probably more talented with his claws than some of his warriors and it wasn't even part of his job description to be able to fight. Saberfang had sense and that was what he liked about him and one of the reasons why the two toms had been friends for many moons.
The pupils that belong to the black tom enlarged to large empty pools and he gave his friend a look as if to say 'who, me?'. "Well I suppose I could go and march around the camp a bit more, blood up the trunk would make a good warning to any visitors that think they can mess with us." He commented with an approving nod. He willingly held his paw out as Saberfang did what he had to, Voidstar was totally useless at the whole medicine cat business. He couldn't have the gentle touch for it even if he tried. A slight stinging sensation tickled his paw as Saberfang pressed down on it but he ignored it. "No Saberfang, if I'm going to attack anything I tend to make it worth my while, you know that." He teased with a small smirk that abruptly faded. "Honestly I don't know, the first step I take outside my den and I get something embedded in my pad, and yes I know I probably should have been watching more carefully but I didn't expect any danger to be so close." He added. He wore a quizzical expression briefly upon his features as he considered the possibilities then shook the thoughts from his head as quickly as they had entered. "Well lets see what the mysterious object is shall we?" He suggested, growing more curious to find out about the object that had caught him off guard. He didn't like being caught off his guard and quite frankly he found it a little embarrassing, but it was only Saberfang, nobody that would use such a thing to their own advantage.
