pshhh, I'm not getting worked up I'm just winding you up a bit and it works surprisingly easily :3 silly lynxie poo.
Buttt I was just wondering what they would do because obviously they are small group compared to the clans, and although they will be violent towards them, that violence will only stretch so far right? If they are attacking patrols they will gradually one by one get hurt/wounded/tired/run-down and then any of the clans would go raging and send a large patrol to show them up? So I'm just wndering how we avoid them being wiped out easily because when they arrive Flamingstar, Havocstar or Voidstar are clearly not going to put up with lots of patrols being attacked.

well they're going to reply 100% on stealth. maybe they'll have spies join the clans so they'll know about possible attacks in time to scatter? they're not concerned with honor, they're only concerned with their own well being, so if a scuffle happens and its looking like they wont make it, they'll flee, etc. they might poison some food, hunt on the clans' land, use an excessively large group to attack a mentor and apprentice when they're training, etc. also I'm thinking they won't be too much smaller than a clan really, because they will have had some time to have kits and grow and stuff and since their lifestyle isnt actually as dangerous as the clans they probably live longer. i'm thinking like if clans are about 30 cats then the group will be about 20?

Okiesss. Yeah that sounds like a reasonable number, problem is the biggest clan is 20 cats currently, which is tempestclan yay :3 but regardless of which clan it is it would still seem unreasonable if the group had 20 cats putting it in perspective, so possible between ten and fifteen cats, depending on the size of the clans at the end of the journey?

yeah I mean it's a rough number, and if a lot of people decide to make cats in the group I wont stop them, we'll just have to use our imaginations and pretend the ratio is accurate.

XD Yeah they'd be like NOT. UP. IN. HERE. But I don't think anyone will consider you an asshole. xP That's like saying no insta-clans and we would have to play them forming and picking territory and WHATNOT. There is always exceptions. BUTYEAHSOI'MEXCITEDTOPLAYTHISTOMYOIGOTIDEASFORHIM

Obvs, butts is a great name. Although if it gets too big then I still feel like we may as well just have kept celestialclan because it would be basically like a clan, just like your idea about the tribe which was why I said no to that.

celestialclan was different because keeping up a clan involves keeping three active positions, which is the hardest part. this is only a couple made-up ranks held by me and aero, and should aero leave then I'll still be able to lead it whereas a clan seriously flounders if any of the council positions lag which is the reason I'm taking away a clan, not because of the character count.

Yeah that is true, a clan needs three people to lead! but surely they will need someone who has a knowledge of healing, or will the leader have that like in a clan because then it would be easier to keep active? but some others would need to as well especially if you guys are like a mating pair and her being female someone would need to know herbs to be able to see to her.

well I need to sort it out first but sort of how the training of young cats happens in groups I'm thinking that healing will be the same thing? and like a certain rank will have knowledge of healing n stuff. I'm not 100% sure but I'll sort out the ranks and it'll make sense then I think. I've just got this idea where a lot of the ranks are shared. like training, fighting, hunting, and healing are all 'ranks' and a particular cat can hold multiple 'ranks' if that makes sense. also yeah they need a name besides 'butts'. I got nothin

Okies ummmm Fortitude XDD like in one tree hill. I would suggest something like Heart because they all have a very strong and loyal heart and that is what they are all about, but its doesn't sound like a name?

[THE RANKS]
alphas - two - often mates but may just be very close friends or such - make all crucial decisions within the group
healers - countless - share a basic and sometimes complex knowledge of healing and herbs
hunters - countless - provide food for the group
fighters - countless - defend group and destroy outsiders
nurses - countless - watch over young ones and teach them basics of group life and etiquette - pregnant and nursing queens may only temporarily be nurses as well
trainers - countless - teach skills necessary to becoming full healers, hunters, fighters, or nurses - must hold the rank they train
kittens - limited - in training to hold any of the above ranks
[THE BASICS]
any cat may hold any number of the ranks above. for example, a kitten may choose to train as both a nurse and a hunter, or a hunter, fighter and a healer.
there is a kitting season, which is the only time year-round when females may birth based on food supply and weather in order to keep kittens from dying or the group of overpopulating itself. punishments for disobeying the kitting season rules range from nonexistant to severe depending on the time in which the forbidden kittens are had.
outsiders are strictly forbidden anywhere near the group. group members may not contact outsiders, punishments may be severe. outsiders are to be treated with utmost hostility.
fighting within the group is also strictly forbidden, and punishments may also be quite severe.
training is most often done in groups, with several trainers and several kittens, although individual lessons are not out of the question.

Or, if that doesn't work for ya, Quintessence? Yes, I've been scouring Thesaurus.com. ^^
