* JASPERSUN
I'm a thousand miles away But girl, tonight you look so pretty
The ginger tabby gazed across the clearing in thought, eyes resting on no cat in particular. The light in camp was warm and added the color of flame to his pelt; Jaspersun was lean and handsome, fitting his clan well, with vivid eyes that were currently elsewhere. He was thinking about his earlier encounter with Fallenstreak. There weren't many cats in camp, though, and he gathered his thoughts about him as he heard light paws padding in his direction. I really should be training Crystalpaw. He thought, remembering that he wanted to take her to the new hunting spot he'd found, near the heart of the territory. He enjoyed being with his apprentice, but at times, she seemed distant. I wonder how she's getting along with her new denmates, Glenpaw and Rosepaw. There were usually more than just three apprentices at a time. Fatesong's kits were growing fast, though, and hopefully soon they would have Rowanpaw, Veilpaw, and Dewpaw. It was wise of Titianfoot to bring them here. All four of them will be strong warriors...
The warm sun was making him drowsy, and he had already hunted plenty today. Jaspersun wanted to take a nap, but his green lights flickered to the side and a young tom was padding toward him, looking like he'd been rubbed the wrong way by a badger. The young ginger warrior also took in his apprentice, Crystalpaw, as she followed behind Glenpaw. She's really quite pretty, for being an apprentice. She'll grow up well. Have she and Glenpaw become friends? That would be nice, if Crystalpaw had someone to talk to. He took his responsibility as her mentor seriously, if that was the only thing he was ever serious about. But he also wanted her to have fun, so long as she didn't make as much trouble as he had when he was an apprentice. "Hey, Crystalpaw!" He greeted her as a mentor would their apprentice, with a friendly smile and a wave of his tail. Then, Jaspersun switched his gaze to her companion. Hey. The young tom's greeting was short and rather harsh, causing the taller warrior to gaze down on him with some irritation sparkling in his eyes, whiskers twitching with faint annoyance. Glenpaw was half his age, with yellow lights and a dark coat. He was four moons older than Crystalpaw, the apprentice of Jaspersun's brother, Copperclaw. I would expect my brother's apprentice to be calmer than this. What's riled him?
Still a bit annoyed with him, for he had been ready to settle into a nap as it was, Jaspersun curled his tail around his paws and spoke cooly in response. "What's up, Glenpaw? Trouble?" He figured it was something, though probably nothing too much if they had only sought him out. He was a warrior, the young, strong blood of the clan, but it wasn't as if he was the most important of his denmates. He had been known to keep a calm head in bad situations, but with his clanmates, his personality could vary.

GlenpawAnd I don't want the world to see me Cause I don't think that they'd understand When everything's meant to be broken I just want you to know who I am. Glenpaw's fur ruffled as Jaspersun answered them cooly. He twitched the end of his tail when Jaspersun rolled onto the ground relaxing. Rolling his eyes, he remembered that Jaspersun was Copperclaw's brother. Copperclaw was Glenpaw's mentor. He didn't see much of him though. He was always busy. Glenpaw wondered if he would be able to keep up with his apprentice status and make his way to be a warrior. Copperclaw wasn't Glenpaw's ideal mentor, but what could Glenpaw do. Nothing. Plus, he wouldn't say anything out loud. If Copperclaw wasn't so busy with everything else, perhaps Glenpaw would like him more. Looking back at Jaspersun, Glenpaw glanced at Crystalpaw before speaking. "We scented a stale fox trail while we went hunting today. It was by the Celestial Stream. Not far from there. It's probably nothing to worry about, but we thought it best to tell somebody," He told him calmly. The fox. I can't believe that stupid fox actually scared me. That's such a waste of bravery. He flicked his tail crossly at himself. A fox wasn't technically trouble. The warriors could probably scare it away. Besides the scent was stale. Nothing to fear right? Right. He decided. He signaled for Crystalpaw to join his side. "Which by the way, Crystalpaw and I went hunting," He cleared his throat for stating the obvious yet again, "I caught two pieces of prey, but the better thing is that Crystalpaw caught a squirrel. It's pretty big too." He encouraged Crystalpaw with a swift glance through the corner of his eye. "Anyways, the real problem. Stale fox scent. Decided to tell you. That's all we needed." Glenpaw lowered his gaze with seriousness.

CrystalpawIn this beautiful life, there's always some sorrow. And its a double-edged knife, but there’s always tomorrow "Hey, Crystalpaw!"
Crystalpaw had padded up with Glenpaw to her mentor. She smiled up to him at his words, but said nothing. What would she say? Should she leap for joy that her mentor said hi? Should she be as excited as most were to be training to be a warrior? Maybe so, but it wouldn't happen. Crystalpaw let go of her thoughts. She stood a bit away listening to their conversation, her eyes going from one to another. "We scented a stale fox trail while we went hunting today. It was by the Celestial Stream. Not far from there. It's probably nothing to worry about, but we thought it best to tell somebody," Glenpaw said. She nodded slowly. Glenpaw didn't seem very happy. He was being a bit gruff, hostile perhaps? Cold. Why was he acting like that? It was just Jaspersun. Her blue eyes drifted off over to the fresh-kill pile - and her catch.
"Which by the way, Crystalpaw and I went hunting,"
Oh, great. Now the whole clan would hear that she had actually spoken with another cat. They didn't know anything about her, she remained mysterious and secretive, unspeaking and indifferent. It seemed simple enough, why couldn't Glenpaw just left her in the den? Why did he have to make her speak? They wouldn't be here now if he had. It was hard enough to stand hear listening to Glenpaw go on about hunting. Crystalpaw's cool gaze floated back to Jaspersun and Glenpaw. What would he say? What would he think about her technique when he brought her hunting? He'd probably be frustrated because she didn't have the 'clan form' - or whatever Glenpaw had said - and couldn't hunt properly. Or maybe he was surprised that she had actually caught something.
"I caught two pieces of prey, but the better thing is that Crystalpaw caught a squirrel. It's pretty big too."
Crystalpaw's eyes flickered to Glenpaw, registering shock. StarClan, help me... She smiled faintly and nodded, staying silent. Her tail flicked from side to side before stilling. She sat down tentatively and eyed each of them carefully. Sighing silently, she wrapped her cream tail around her paws and glanced again at the fresh-kill pile. Not at her prey, but because she was hungry. She turned her head back to the conversation. She wished a hole would open up beneath her and swallow her up. By now she had realized that she was being silly. It was just a conversation, even if there was something going on. Crystalpaw frowned. Why the cold atmosphere?

* JASPERSUN
I'm a thousand miles away But girl, tonight you look so pretty
What a little brat Glenpaw is. Jaspersun thought now, his brow arching and disbelief at how poorly the tom acted in his emerald lights. For how he was only two moons from becoming a warrior, one would think that he would be a little better behaved, but in fact he was just as rude as a kit made leader in a day. The ginger tabby couldn't help but dislike the tom on spot; Glenpaw probably wouldn't be kind or even the slightest bit respectful to the oldest Celestialclan elder, was his first impression. He thinks he's some big deal. Starclan, I'd like to cut him down to size... The lean tom-cat yawned, snapping his white fangs together in an abrupt end to the action. His eyes betrayed his dislike for the young tom; generally they were friendly and full of warmth, but now they were cold and flat, his maw curved into a hard set frown.
Jaspersun gave a short sigh, blowing air out through his nostrils as he looked away from the two apprentices and toward the forest. A fox was something to worry about; if it was female, she could have cubs in the territory, and that would mean she would be more vicious than usual. In a patrol, though, a few strong warriors could handle chasing the fox out. If it was stale, though, probably nothing. The red/orange furred creatures crossed through Celestialclan territory often, perhaps chased from other clan's borders. He thought that their might be a den of them outside of their territory, but it wasn't something he wanted to look into. Besides, what went on outside of clan territory wasn't his to worry about. Forcing down his annoyance for the apprentice, he turned back to gaze at the pair. Apprentices will be apprentices, after all. Maybe he'll grow out of it... whatever it is. "Yeah, probably if it's stale then the fox was just passing through. I can check it out though, if you like." He had seemed to want help, if at least by notifying the young warrior, so it was the least he could do to offer his services. If his hunch was right, it was nothing, so it wouldn't be dangerous if the three of them checked into it.
As Glenpaw continued to mention his two pieces of prey Jaspersun's expression didn't change. Annoyance tinged his gaze as the male spoke for Crystalpaw, but he didn't say anything until the news of her catch had been noted. It wasn't surprise or any kind of distaste; the mentor just smiled, proud within the way any warrior was for their first apprentice. He had hope in her, that she would become more talkative, and that he could help her develop her skills. "A squirrel, huh? That's a really good catch, Crystalpaw. Congratulations!" It was true, that was a good catch for an apprentice of her age and size. He couldn't wait to take her to the new hunting spot he had found, which was rich with prey in this season. Maybe later today? Or, probably, he could take Glenpaw too, but it seemed unlikely that the sharp apprentice would want to go.
OOC. Just a note- he did not roll onto the ground. xD Donno where you go that from... But it doesn't matter. I also don't know whether you want them to check it out? If you don't have special plans for where this is going, he could take them to check it out and to the hunting spot, since Jasper needs to train with Crystal anyway. If there's somewhere special you want it to go, though, I can just end it with him taking a nap.

GlenpawAnd I don't want the world to see me Cause I don't think that they'd understand When everything's meant to be broken I just want you to know who I am. Glenpaw saw Jaspersun's change in mood and he furrowed his brow. No one gets him. They never have it seems like they never will. Flicking his tail in disgust, he padded backwards from Jaspersun to stand beside Crystalpaw who looked more like her forest self, confident and pleasing. Watching Crystalpaw a while longer, Glenpaw relaxed and unwinded his anger. He flickered his honey eyes back at Jaspersun and thought for a while longer. Jaspersun wouldn't like Crystalpaw right? Crystalpaw was his apprentice. Jaspersun wouldn't like her. Would he? Maybe he should ask Copperclaw about Jaspersun. He flicked his ear and continued to look at Crystalpaw before dropping his eyes down. He was stupid. Looking back up to Jaspersun he breathed out a tiny sigh. "Actually, would you mind checking it? I-I think it was mostly gone, but there's no harm in checking," he swallowed his pride and relaxed. He had set a bad example of himself to Jaspersun, but he did it in an act of jealousy. He really didn't enjoy talking to most cats, but Crystalpaw...she was turning him around. Everything was topsy turvy now. They had bickered yes, but he realized something he hadn't before, something important. Crystalpaw was a lot like...Ivypaw. In a much more reserved sensation, but still, Ivypaw was inside of Crystalpaw, he believed. Breathing out a sigh, he sat down and listened to the cream tabby she-cat's mentor congratulate her on her catch. He saw her eyes brighten and he waited for Jaspersun to talk to them. He was a foul cat after all, some toning down would do him justice. {OOC: That's a good question. I don't know. I was a little out of it when I posted. My bad. There was nothing we wanted to add onto with this actually. The plan wasn't even to scent a fox, but they did. The plan was to just tell someone, but thanks for posting. ^^ And if you want to sneak in a battle training practice or another hunting practice with Crystalpaw, could you take Glenpaw too? That is, if Jaspersun doesn't kill him first. And of course, if you're not going to be on in a while, then we can always end it here, but thanks again Dawn!}

* JASPERSUN
I'm a thousand miles away But girl, tonight you look so pretty
As the male apprentice seemed to visibly soften, Jaspersun's hard green lights softened a bit too. He wondered a bit more why Glenpaw had such burrs in his fur, but then relaxed. Sure, Glenpaw had been a brat, but Jaspersun was always so quick to judge harshly. He had judged Fallenstreak for her poor attitude, when really their personalities had simply clashed. Now he had judged Glenpaw for his, which struck him again as full of himself, and not considered waiting to see what his problem was. Really, the tabby was just so aggressive, at times. When the darkly colored young tom had acted that way, he of course would never have picked a fight- but if he had carried it one step further, if the two had been of the same age... He might very well of taken it as an invitation to fight. Which would have been ridiculous in this situation, particularly with his apprentice, Crystalpaw, present. I'm still so young at heart myself... How can I mentor Crystalpaw, my first apprentice, and teach her to be mature and strong? How can I set a good example when I get so easily irritated? Sure, apprentices had no right getting mouthy or rude with him, but still; he had to be the bigger tom here, having been made a warrior, and not return to his days as an apprentice. If he spent his entire time as a young warrior picking fights with every cat that was slightly sharp to him, he would never make it to the status of a respected older warrior. Like Cometstar. He's still young, and it was dense of him to choose Titianfoot when everyone knew about those two, but I will support them both- and hopefully learn something of it.
Still rather taken aback by Glenpaw's attitude, Jaspersun gazed at him with a hint of suspicion in his warm green eyes, and then slowly stood and breathed in the scents of Celestialclan camp. "Ah, no, I was just being lazy anyway. I'll be glad to check up on it. There's certainly no harm." He tried to inspire some intelligence and reassurance into his tone, the kind that a warrior older than himself might have. Starclan, I'm such an idiot! He wasn't quite brave enough with his new patience to suggest that he show Crystalpaw- and Glenpaw as well- the new hunting spot after they had looked into it. He would take a bit of time to gather his thoughts about him, to be sure he was ready to be responsible for his own apprentice and her friend without snapping. Copperclaw is never like this. I wonder how he manages to be so calm?
OOC. Oh, Jasper is just a rotten temperamental boy. <3 Ignore his attitude, he won't kill Glenpaw, he's going to try and be more easy going. But another training session with Crystalpaw would be great if Swift agrees to it, and I'm sure Jaspersun will be glad to take Glenpaw along.

CrystalpawIn this beautiful life, there's always some sorrow. And its a double-edged knife, but there’s always tomorrow "A squirrel, huh? That's a really good catch, Crystalpaw. Congratulations!"
The cream-tabby cat smiled at her mentor, pleased with the praise. But that was the end of the friendly words. There was a tension between the two that she couldn't quite understand. But why the bad atmosphere? she thought as she watched with blue eyes the exchange of words between Jaspersun and Glenpaw. What was the problem? Why were they acting so coldly, so awkward? Her mentor didn't like Glenpaw, it was clear from the way he behaved. Crystalpaw swished her tail along the ground and gazed at it as it moved. She pawed at it half-heartedly as she tuned out of the conversation.
"Ah, no, I was just being lazy anyway. I'll be glad to check up on it. There's certainly no harm."
Those words brought Crystalpaw's attention back to the conversation. Would they all be going? Or just her and Jaspersun? Honestly, the silence would be unbearable! She would feel frced to speak up. Maybe, though, just maybe it was time she did? Just a little sentence here, a quiet remark there - would it really be so bad? But it seemed so unatural for her. Looking at Jaspersun, she blinked. Then turning to Glenpaw to see what his reaction would be. Instead of waiting for him, she turned to Jaspersun and nodded Not slowly, but not eagerly. She was eager to go out into the forest again really.
She looked from one to the other. When could they go? Now? Later? Whichever, Crystalpaw couldn't wait to get out of the den again. She had no idea where this sudden urge came from, but it was there. She had enjoyed herself, even through her gloominess. She was being too gloomy, she realized. She needed to lighten up. Her eyes settling on her mentor, Crystalpaw waited to see what he would say. OoC; OK, so my muse is crap, but yeah guys. If ye are still up for it, sure! Sounds good. =D
