SHORT DESCRIPTION// beautiful and cunning patchwork she-cat with hazel eyes.
DESCRIPTION// Arilpaw is, for lack of a better term, stunning. Her looks have earned her dozens of admirers, some not even from her own Clan. She is lean and lanky and has a sort of lazy drawl to her step that seems to say "I'm a catch, and I know it". She's not muscular. She could be, if she had the drive to attempt it, but she knows the slender build makes her look fragile and at times even more alluring and mysterious. Huge Hazel eyes add to that temptress look; she knows how to bat them and glaze them and fix you with them better than some cats twice her age. Speaking of age, hers is hard to pin down: she's been mistaken for a larger than average new apprentice because of her youthful figure and the wideness of her eyes, but also for a warrioress much older than she because of the way she carries herself.
Her coat is downy-soft and looks like a patchwork of three different pelts. Most of it is a snow white that she keeps impeccably clean, some is reminescant of a ginger tabby, and finally there are patches of a dark, mousey brown over her eyes and on her tail and legs. Her fur is mostly short, but lengthens at the tail. She has unusually long whiskers and a small, pointed pink nose that streamlines her triangular face.
Everything about Arilpaw, it seems, pulls together to form a cat truly defining what it once (mistakenly) meant to be a CelestialClan cat: beauty, and copious amounts of it.
PERSONALITY// Beauty isn't always only skin-deep... unfortunately, Arilpaw is not necessarily one those exceptions. She has taken to using her beautiful looks and innocent demeanor to her advantage, and often at that. She knows she'll get her way in an argument if she screws up her face this way, she knows she can get out of dawn patrol if she asks one of the toms in the apprentice den to cover for her in this voice. At least, she could at a time - she's become increasingly unpopular among the apprentices because of her tendancy to be manipulative like that. Not even her own siblings seem to like her, because she's bullied her brother for so long.
Arilpaw is a cynic, a realist without many friends, or many cats who even like her. She plays coy when accused, often acting sickly sweet in front of high-level cats (who often see right through her, anyway). She is smart and has the potential to be a good fighter and worthy addition to the Clan, if it weren't for her laziness and avoidence of anything resembling work.
However, at the heart of things, Arilpaw isn't all bad. She is playful, breezy and easygoing when she's not putting on a show for those around her. Misguided, yes, and definately lax, but she's a good, loyal she-cat who is simply a little too afraid of not being loved... and even moreso of getting close to someone who will only, inevitably, leave her.
EXPERIENCE// Arilpaw was born into a litter of three, with her brother Liquoricepaw and her identical twin sister Saturnpaw. Their mother was a well-admired queen who had settled with her sweetheart into a happy family. The kits grew up without much fuss or important events, save for Arilkit badgering timid Liquoricekit every other day. This caused a rift between the kits; Arilkit on one side, not seeing the harm in her teasing despite constant stern warnings from her mother and disdainful glances from her sister, and Liquoricekit and Saturnkit on the other side, with Saturnkit constantly comforting and protecting her brother.
Arilpaw convinced herself not to mind, though. She befriended the only other she-kit in the nursery, little Sunshinekit. Like her name, Sunshinekit was always happy, bright and cheerful, and together she and imaginative Arilkit had plenty of great adventures.
The best friends stuck together, and it wasn't long into their apprenticeship that they were setting young tom's hearts ablaze. Arilpaw was always silently jealous of Sunshinepaw - Arilpaw was beautiful, yes, but Sunshinepaw even more so, inside and out. Always smiling, always helping others out, always there for Arilpaw when she needed her. Arilpaw was feircely protective of her friendship with Sunshinepaw. She was the one cat who knew all her secrets, whom she could tell everything and anything to. Sunshinepaw confided in Arilpaw in the same way.
Because of this tight-knit friendship, it isn't surprising that Arilpaw was the only one in CelestialClan who heard of Sunshinepaw's secret lover in another Clan, and her plans to run away with him the coming moon. Arilpaw hated the plan, of course, but nothing could talk Sunshinepaw out of it, so Arilpaw managed to convince her friend to wait until after the next Gathering so she'd have a chance to meet this tom without it being too conspicuous. And so it was that Arilpaw met Galepaw, a strapping near-warrior from TempestClan. It was obvious that the two were in love, so Arilpaw reluctantly gave Sunshinepaw her blessing, as long as she promised to visit her every new moon. So Sunshinepaw left. And that was the last time Arilpaw ever spoke to her.
Three days after Sunshinepaw left, a group patroling the western border found something terrible. Sunshinepaw's body was ripped and torn nearly beyond recognition; she had been mauled by a fox. There had been no sign of Galepaw since they found Sunshinepaw's body, and still no one but Arilpaw knows about the real reason for her departure. Arilpaw mourned her friend and proceeded with difficulty through the next three moons. Now Arilpaw is practically friendless, still yet to mend the relationships with her brother and sister, and worst of all, unwilling to get close to anyone else for more than a few moments before she is once again her haughty and cunning persona.
