Description:

Looking at Ashenflight you would expect him to be a strong, proud and loyal warrior who would be an asset to any clan. His build is quite large for a Zephyrclan cat considering they tend to me more lithe in shape and size making him look large when he is around his clan mates, but out on the battle field he appears to have the build of your average Vertigoclan warrior which left few differences between Ashenflight and many of the other warriors. Sadly he is not a Vertigoclan warrior and this trait doesn't help him to blend in and go un-noticed but those around him. Say he was sleeping in camp and the deputy wanted him to go on a patrol, the clan deputy would most certainly spot him straight away. However, his size compared to the rest of his clan can be made slightly less obvious by his slow movements and sitting still over long periods of time. This can be a challenge for a cat who was born to chase rabbits across vast meadows but it means when he does get the opportunity to run he can make the most of it. Even though he isn't as fast as some of his clan mates, he blends in with the terrain a lot better than many of them due to his deep grey pelt, perfect for blending in with the rocks and keeping out the wind due to it's thickness. In some areas there is a slightly tan coloured tint to his pelt and around his face are highlights of a lighter grey, almost white, colour which is dusted over his maw and runs down his chest to give him a lighter coloured belly. The highlights around his eyes make it appear almost as though he is constantly wearing a grumpy expression which is true for the most part but not everyone realizes that. His eyes are a deep green colour, faded after so many moons spent brooding, and are outlined with black giving them an indignant appearance.

Personality:

Ashenflight is first and foremost a tom of very few words. If you are the type of cat who rambles on about nonsense such as clan gossip or something equally mouse-brained then you are least likely to see him hanging around because chances are he will do everything in his power to avoid you. The only time you might see him is if he is forced to patrol with you and he would spend the entirety of the patrol ignoring you or saying as little as possible. After moons of practice he has cut it down to a fine skill, using the least amount of words possible to get his point across. One word answers are common and if you say something stupid then expect something thickly sarcastic in return. It's not that Ashenflight is an unfriendly tom, it's just he often finds himself resenting the company of others. He would rather he kept his distance from others to begin with rather than trying to make conversation and getting ignored or laughed at. Once upon a time he figured out that his own company was enough to keep him sane and that he didn't need anyone else because having others around him seemed to make everything worse. As a result of this he finds himself isolated from most of the clan. He is a bit of a lost case and few could be bothered to even take a second glance at him never mind wasting their breath striking up a conversation. His ideal friend would probably be one that he could sit in comfortable silence with, but most others can't seem to keep their maws shut. He knows it's his own fault that he feels isolated but he can't figure out whether it's better than way or if he is just being twisted, not that it would matter too much since all his life he was used to coming second. So yes he is a very brooding tom and it takes him a long time to even consider getting over things. No matter how hard he tries to forget things just keep coming back and haunting him over and over again. As a result of this he is often not as committed as he could be but he is a Zephyrclan cat at heart.

Experience:

Ashenkit was brought into the world by the two cats that he resents more than anything. First, there was his mother Shimmerstream who was above all a traitor. Not long after giving birth to him and his sister, Slatekit, she left the clan and by doing so breaking the warrior code as every warrior knows that they reject the soft life of a kittypet. This left him having to deal with his father, Owltalon, and the bias he had towards his sister from a very young age as the foster mother that took on the two kits was a bit of an airhead, from his personal point of view anyway. Regardless of who his parents were Ashenpaw was always hard working and on the path to becoming a great Zephyrclan warrior just as his sister was. However, no matter how hard he tried, how hard he trained, even if he managed to catch more prey than his sister Slatepaw it was never enough, Owltalon was never impressed by his son. In fact as time went on his father seemed to resent him more and more, until one day he just gave up. He gave up on his family and quickly began to push them out of his live. Owltalon seemed glad to get rid of him but Slatepaw wasn't so easy to push away. The more he tried to push her away the more she tried to hang on. It got to the stage where he just started ignoring her and everyone else but his mentor, Ripplechaser. When he was training he could let himself relax, let his mind be free from all the problems he had but whenever he had to go on patrol with other apprentices or was back at camp with them that's where all the taunting went on. Slatepaw picked up on this quite quickly and was persistent in defending him but little did she realize this only made things worse for him and made him resent her just as much as he resented her father. Despite this he became a warrior at the same time as his sister and that was when he stopped trying. He decided that since he had gotten his warrior name then he would do his best to stay out of everyones way and do only what was asked of him, never volunteering to do anything extra, never willing to help out others just for the sake of it and to this day he remains that way.
