Hearing the pattering of light footsteps rushing towards her, she glanced over her shoulder quizzically to see a delicate, yet bizzarely foreign she-cat with a triangular face. Her slender taupe tail brushed back and forth gently as her frigid blue eyes drifted around, shifting from the former MaliceClan camp to the exotic cat. For a split second her brow creased ever so slightly, as she debated over the new arrival. It felt like overkill, how could she really trust any of these cats, just clinging to some semblance of normal life? Once a traitor, always a traitor, after all.
And yet that was the same reason she ought to say yes. You couldn't change your future if you weren't given the chance to. She stiffened a bit, cleared her throat, and mewed, "You swear your undying loyalty to ZephyrClan? I'm hesitant, I'm sure you can understand. I need to know you're 100% positive on this." her voice was stern and firm, as she did not want to appear too open and naive, but she didn't exactly want to drive the strange cat away, either. Her head raised slowly, as she was still settled upon the ground, only slightly dazed yet. Inclining her skull, she let her cool gray eyes flow into Cobaltbreeze's chillingly vivid blue ones. She blinked as a soft smile caressed her features, quickly, she turned her head to Chasmriver. "Will you take a couple clan cats that are still here and pick out our dead from the survivors? I know it's a gruesome job, but not many have stayed beind, I think, and our dead still need burials." Lynxstar heaved herself up from the earth and shook out her coat, feeling renewed and healthy. "Cobalt, will you go help him? You're one of our bigger warriors, if you could find any of our dead..." She let her voice trail and cringed, her eyes wandering away from his face, but then they snapped back. "It's asking alot, but I'll join you in a moment. Carry any you find back, otherwise you're free to return home." She let out a deep rush of air, then flicked her small tail, and trotted off toward the sound of moans and the reek of blood and death and fear.
Chasmriver stood at attention as his leader addressed him, but when he realized his job was to sort through corpses, he let his broard shoulders drop as if weights were plunked down upon him. Stifling his sigh, the big warrior screwed his eyes shut, then promptly opened them, grimacing, then nodding. "Yes Lynxstar." He muttered, slightly sour at the task at hand. Lashing his tail, he padded off through the grove of trees back to MaliceClan's old clearing at a brisk pace, immediately getting to work while choking down bile rising in his throat.

Slouching over with his neck craned down near the ground, he nodded stiffly at Lynxstar's request, with a shallow, nearly inaudible sigh. "Of course, Lynxstar." Quietly he slipped after Chasmriver, shouldering his way through the brush, tail drooping slightly. It was not so much the reek of death and demise that bothered him, though that was certainly vile, but the lifeless forms and blood-splattered remains. He cringed as he nosed his way through the feline wreckage, relieved and quite eager to find there was no slaughtered VertigoClan cats. His deep cerulean lights glimmered as he loped back to Lynxstar and dipped his head slowly, once again annoyed as to the slight trembling in his voice, "It appears there's no losses on VertigoClan's part."
She seemed so healthy and pure again, like a new cat, glossy speckled fur almost shimmering in the moonlight. Awkwardly he averted his gaze, wondering if she would notice. [/blockquote]

Lynxstar, too, nosed through the heaps of dead, their scents drifitng off them like auras. The sun would rise soon, and she wanted her clan no where near this place when these bodies began to bake, for the diseases that would fester here were unthinkable, Lynxstar had witnessed before. Suddenly, Cobaltbreeze padded over, Chasmriver follwing closely behind, and her breath rushed out happily. "Oh praise StarClan." She breathed, letting a smile curl her lips in the midst of the disaster. Dipping her head for the toms to wiat, she galloped to Larkstar, and dipped her massive head. "Hi Larkstar, I hope there are no losses on your part? Either way, there are none on yours, and I want to be no where near here when the sun rises, so I'm taking the rest of VertigoClan, good work." She added, flicking her ear. "See you in a moon." She padded a ways off, turned and nodded to Chasmriver and Cobaltbreeze to follow. Taking a few more steps, Lynxstar gracefully leaped up onto a boulder, and cleared her throat before yowling out. "I request that the remainder of VertigoClan return home with me, thank you." She let her voice fade, and slipped back down, then exited the clearing smoothly, breaking into a steady gallop on her way through ZephyrClan's meadows.

Nodding her head slowly, Rupture's eyes gleamed with hope. Larkstar seemed like an awful nice cat, but she also seemed like that cat that wouldn't hesitate to tear your fur off. Licking her paw where a fly landed, Rupture let her eyes land on that of her new leader's. "I swear. I'll do anything to get out of this dreaded camp." Her voice was confident and her tail swished with happiness. She couldn't wait to finally be in a camp, being almost 11 moons she would be an apprentice for just a little time.

She bit her lip, frosty blue eyes distant and unreadable, not conveying the skepticism she felt in spite of the reassurance from the former MaliceClanner. This felt like a different case completely than Spectrepaw; she was willing to leave her family behind in search of new morals, however this cat seemed almost...weaselly. Scared of life under the reign of a new leader. Willing to turn on her clanmates because of it. And yet, she couldn't just deprive Rupture of a new life, as excited as she was. She would simply have to make it clear she wasn't just a shelter for insecure cats, no, if the pale, asphyxiated she-cat wanted her respect, she'd have to earn it. To prove she was more than a hitchhiker looking for a prosperous life.
"Very well." her voice was monotone, smooth and clear, not blemished by her current disdain. With a quick surveying of the area she yowled, "ZephyrClan! We're returning home at once, please follow my lead." Her head swiveled curiously as Lynxstar entered her line of vision, and she dipped her head. "I'm glad to hear that." she mewed, barefully getting a reply in before the tawny leader pelted off. Larkstar followed suit, making sure her clan was in pursuit with a hasty glance over her shoulder. She heaved a forced sigh, longing to feel the moor grass tickling her pawpads once more, the caressing winds surround her. [/blockquote]
