Lilythorn had a mock look fo authority in her eyes. "Now, I thought I was the deputy." she teased. She wanted to help him. She wanted a friend. "Tsk, tsk tsk. Look at you. A mess." she mewed in a friendly tone. She teasingly rolled her eyes. "What am I going to do with you? Dawnfire is already busy with Shatteredrose." she meowed, oblivious to what had happened to Radianteclipse.

Northwind did not grin foolishly. He did not smile. He frowned, looking away from Lilythorn. He didn't even want to know how she was looking at him. He wanted to spit and snarl at the she-cat, but how and why would he possibly do that? "I'm not joking Lilythorn," He murmured, hopping over to a patch of sun to lay in, throwing himself to the ground. "I'm pitiful." He snarled.

Lilythorn watched him hop. "Northwind? Why are you... hopping around like a baby rabbit?" she mewed, the smile and laughter fading from her face and her voice. "Northwind, what happened to you?" she barely whispered.

"Nothing!" Northwind roared, not even looking up or raising him head. Aside from his voice, the only way One could tell he was alive was that hise sides rose when he yowled. "Nothing at all." He whispered, screwing his eyes shut. "Nothing.." Was he going mad? No, of course not. But couldn't he just leave him alone? He was hurting and hating at the moment. His self pity simply burned.

Lilythorn jumped, frightened by Northwind's sudden reaction. She sighed. "Well, if you're not going to tell me..." she meowed, hiding the smile on her face by turning away. She knew she would get an answer from him.. somehow.

He knew she was leaving, and he felt a little bit of him shrivel up and burn to a crisp. "Please!" He cried, rolling over to look at her. He cried out in agony and his eyes were flooded, but he did not raise his head. Northwind looked like a corpse, his throat burning at the effort of keeping the tears down. "Please Lilythorn don't leave me!" He shrieked, his sobs were dry.

"I wasn't leaving you..." she meowed sadly and truthfully. He was acting like a little kit, but she didn't mind. It'd been a long time since she had had to care for a kit. She smiled a bittersweet smile. "Just tell me what happened, Northy." she mewed his nickname for the first time. "I want to know..."

"Come sit by me," He asked her, still having not raised his head. "Please?" Invoulentarily his broken paw twitched, and Northwind gasped in pain, screwing his eyes shut. "Ow." He mewed quietly. Warrior looked up at deputy, no respect was on his face, only silent plees. "She's having his kits." He was almost whimpering. "And I broke my paw.. because I tripped." He admitted, knwoing she laugh heartily. He didn't care one bit.

'She's having kits.' echoed in her ears. Radiant? Having kits? So soon? Lilythorn realized how much she missed having a mate and kits. She was jealous of her best friend. She shook her head as Northwind continued. "You broke your paw?" she meowed, concern in her voice. She padded towards him and sat down. "You have it bad Northy..." she mewed.

"No I don't," He mewed mercilessly. "I have the best life in the world and look how I'm treating it! I have flirts, a great leader, foster-mother, clan, friends, and popularity," He laughed "And look at me! Puking over kits and tripping over pregnancy! Ignoring those close to me for chances I'll never have! What a silly tom I am!" He was pouting, like a kit.

Lilythorn let out a small chuckle and rolled her eyes. She wondered if she was considered one of his friends. She let the thought go and turned her attention back to Northwind. "You better stop that Northkit, before you scare away everyone." she meowed with a smile on her face.

"I already have." Northwind muttered, somehow feeling better by her teasing. At least he wasn't acting half-insane anymore, and it was easier to hold back to tears now. "Lilythorn. You think I love her. You were crying. But I don't. Or.. I thought I didn't, then Emerald mentioned it and now I think I do but I don't want to!" He sighed, finally sitting up.

Lilythorn frowned. The scene she had caused earlier.. He wouldn't forget it. Northwind did love Radianteclipse... "I know you love Radianteclipse..." she meowed. "I'm just glad to be a friend rather than nothing at all." She sounded defeated, heartbroken, yet she felt better since she had put the idea of friendship in her head. And, she was right. Friendship was better than nothing.

Northwind sighed and set his head on her shoulder. "You're as bad as I am. I bet we both sound dead. This is a mess." He clucked softly. "But I don't think neither of us are worse than Lostdesire. She tried to kill herself earlier. Because of me," He choked out the last sentence.

Lily's heart beat faster when Northy set his head on her shoulder. "We can be dead together..." she trailed off, knowing she had probably messed everything up with just a single sentence.
