Lightningstrike wasn't sure himself. He wondered what would have happened if the tree hadn't fallen - if the storm hadn't come. If that little voice in his head hadn't persuaded him to venture out into the forest. It was almost too perfect. His purring slowed to a gentle rumble as the grey warrior leaned on him for support. "I think so," he whispered as his tail somehow found itself entwined in hers.

Shadewing purred and relaxed as their tails intertwined. "Thank you." She whispered to Starclan. Her gaze lifted upwards to Silverpelt. The she-cat knew that her brother was watching her from Starclan. Shadewing hoped that Darkclaw could see she was finally happy. The tom had died in a battle soon after becoming a warrior. Slowly, she exhaled, relaxing even more and putting slightly more weight on Lightningstrike. Her small frame was quivering with joy. "Im ready when you are." She mewed.

For a moment he just sat there, taking in the beauty of the scenery and the quiet breeze that fluttered between them. Finally he got to his feet, helping Shadewing up as well. The world seemed like a bright new place - like he was looking at it through a different pair of eyes. He had something to live for now, and he could never thank the she-cat enough.
"You coming?" he meowed brightly, but he was in no rush to get back to camp. They could take all day, and he wouldn't mind.

Shadewing nodded, still rather dazed. She felt so happy, as though she would float up into the air. "Yeah!" She mewed, shaking her grey head to clear it. The she-cat fell in step with Lightningstrike. The sun was sinking into the horizon. A perfect ending to a perfect day. Shadewing thought. But the grey warrior couldn't help but remember that though the sun was fading, it wasn't the next day til moonhigh. Alot could happen between now in then. A wary feeling was creeping up into her pelt. Something bad was about to happen, though she was sure it had nothing to do with her and Lightningstrike.

Lightningstrike trotted along the winding path back to camp with his head held high, taking care to always keep Shadewing in his sight. She seemed perfectly at ease now, admiring the sunset as she followed him along, perfect timing in every step. Good StarClan, was he the luckiest cat on earth, or what? He turned his attention back to the trail, and in doing so, missed the signs of unease in the gray she-cat. "We're almost back." he purred joyfully, noticing the entrance to the tunnels up ahead.

Shadewing shook her head. Now was a time to be happy. "I'm coming stupid furball." She murmured with affection. The grey she-cat bounded into Celestialclan camp, not knowing what to expect. Would everything be different now or would everything stay the same? She preferred the first. Something good needed to happen. Soon.
((Short post... sorry))
