Wreathedstar watched all of the events unfold, as Lynxstar arrived. "Lynxstar, hello." He mewed absentmindedly, not really paying attention to anything. He was nervously thinking of what to say, but showed no sign of it on the outside. He appeared calm, superior, and collected. What would the tom say about Larkstar? Just put it forward or say it nice and softly, not wanting to cause stress amongst other felines. How would he announce his leadership? Or what about them being attacked by the rouges? The last thing Wreathedstar wanted was for his clan to seem weak, no that would not do. His soft blue gaze drifted to the cats below, watching them converse. A slight smile played its way onto his features as he watched different cats' reactions. Suddenly, his alluring blue gaze flicked to Perilstar and Vividstar. The two seemed to be up to something, and not just something small. A small look of distrust casually passed his looks before he realized he was up to bat. He stepped forward, a brilliant smile on his face. It was charming, seeming to win the crowd below him. "Greetings, everyone." He cleared his throat, feeling paranoid for a moment, as if something big he didn't know was about to happen. "As you probably do not know, Larkstar has passed away. I have succeeded her as leader and we will all miss her presence. However, ZephyrClan is healing and we are progressing." He stopped, waiting for any reactions. [/blockquote]

Mintypaw was enjoying talking to the other apprentices, but just then VertigoClan arrived and the gathering had begun. It was her leader who spoke first, Wreathedstar. The fragile bodied, small she-cat apprentice turned to face her leader as he spoke, telling of the death of Larkstar, the leader she had known from Kithood. For now she would listen closely, wanting so badly to know what was going on with the other clans. her eyes glittered in the moonlight as she looked up at the glacier with admiration in her eyes. It was still merely a dream though, just a dream of becoming a leader. She knew she was too weak, too slow, too worthless to become anything but a mere warrior. Not the greatest warrior like all the others dreamed of, but that did not bother her. As long as she could become a warrior. Ears would be pricked as the white apprentice would wait to see what else her leader would say, if he had anything else to add.

As Veiledpaw joined the rest of her clan at the gathering, she looked around through one pupil to scan the cats around her. She was blind in one eye, and it was a secret. Her medicine cats secret, her mother's secret, and her mentor's secret. A secret they would keep because she had asked them to. She had heard stories of how cats with disabilities got treated differently, bullied in their clans even. As her lean sparkling silver pelt slipping into the gathering a little behind the rest of her clan she paused behind Cloudstreak to see what Wreathedstar would say. However she got distracted as she noticed the overpowering scent of Celestialclan. Choking on the scent she cleared her throat very softly so she could breathe again and stood tall beside Cloudstreak, yet she was still smaller than him.

Striding into the Gathering a few moments late, her eyes caught what Wreathedstar had spoken. Larkstar was dead, and so soon since Ghoststar's death. The deputy stalked forward to hear if the new leader gave anymore details. "Wreathedstar, I do not mean to seem nosy or rude, and I know that I do not have the authority to force it out of you, but how did she die?" Lilythorn chimed in, her icy eyes looking up to him with a slight tinge of fear. Looking down for a moment at the cats around her, she took a double take. "Hello, Veiledpaw." she murmured to the apprentice next to her. "Your brother has been quite the troublemaker lately." she added for a moment. She looked back up to where the leaders stood, and was glad that no other cats would have heard her private greeting to Veiledpaw because of the small outbursts coming from the majority of the Clan cats.

Cloudstreak nodded at Veiledpaw showing a tight smile. He looked up at Wreathedstar and pricked his ears as Lilythorn put in her comment. He too would like to know how Larkstar had died, but he would have never asked. His tail flicked impatiently as he awaited a answer. He shifted his gaze to the orange-pelted, blue-eyed deputy and nodded stiffly to the she-cat before curling his striped tail around his gray and black paws. His gaze roamed around before settling on Lynxstar and he watched her before moving his gaze to each of the other three leaders. He looked at the ground, ears still focused to the gathering before him. He yawned and blinked tiredly.

Veiledpaw dipped her head to Lilythorn as she greeted her. "Hello Lilythorn, that was a brave thing you did there asking that question, I'm sure more than one cat was afraid to ask it." She meowed softly. She did not want to raise her voice very much, as she only aimed to be heard by the cat she was talking to, and that would be Lilythorn. "Scold him over the ear if he gets too much, little brothers often do, did you ever have a brother? Little or big, they both get on your nerves a lot, however, may I ask? What has my brother done this time? I never know what he gets up to these days, mind you, maybe it's for the best." She meowed quietly to Lilythorn. It wasn't often she got to speak with the deputy, she was a kind she-cat, she felt less intimidated by Lilythorn than Lynxstar. That's why she randomly decided to tell Lilythorn about her training and not Lynxstar. "Lilytorn, I haven't really been getting much training done.....my mentor, she doesn't seem too bothered with me, I know this isn't the time or the place, but maybe we could pick up this conversation another time?" She asked sweetly. Her blue eyes flicked up wards to meet Lilythorn and then up to look at Wreathedstar, but she was still listening for Lilythorn, she just did not want to seem rude by not paying attention to either of them.

The rush of oxygen that the she-cat suddenly gulped in as the smokey gray tom stepped up for his first turn to speak as a leader suddenly turned sour-tasting instead of the sweet, snow-kissed air that Lynxstar was used to. You'll be dead soon too someday Lynxie, dear, She blinked, surprised to hear Cometstar invading her thoughts. Off in the distance, she heard Lilythorn speak up with curiosity, but the leader couldn't make out her words as she tuned into the deep, familiar voice inside of her with insense concentration, though she fought to keep a subtley mourning mask upon her broad face. Twitching her short tail, she urged the dead tom to say more. And you know what's funny? What did he expect, her to start babbling to herself in the middle of the gathering? There was a low rumbling that she asumed was a chuckle. I bet none of these young bucks that call themselves leaders will mourn you like you are mourning Larkstar. And don't bother worrying about her, she's happy as a bear in a blackberry bush. She shook her head slightly at his eccentric sayings, wanting to scream that she was hardly worried over how Larkstar was getting along with paradise. More than anything she worried about Wreathedstar, and how he would lead. Like she worried over her own young deputy's weaknesses, she knew that the tom would find his share of faults. Still, he had an air of condience that was unlike the arrogence that eminated from Perilstar. It was the find of confidence she admired, not the kind she was wary of. Shivering, Lynxstar noticed that Cometstar's presence had quit fiddling with her mind. Content that her little mind-war was won, Lynxstar knew that Wreathedstar would do fine.

The deputy half-smiled at the young apprentice's short burst of chatter. Veiledpaw's mentor had quite a bundle of joy to contain. Her ears twitched as the young blue-eyed apprentice spoke of her mentor. Not getting much training done, eh, Summerpath? "Not the time or place for sure, Veiledpaw, but of course I shall speak with her." If Summerpath is slacking, perhaps Veiledpaw needs a different mentor. she thought to herself. The urge to take the little blue-eyed she-cat as her own apprentice, but what would Summerpath do? They were friends, and Lilythorn couldn't betray her friend like that! Though her brother did break my heart. Not like I would hold that against her. Oh, StarClan. I don't even hold it against him. I can't do something like that to her. I can't! she argued with herself. Having drifted off into her own world, Lilythorn shook her head somewhat violently, and then stared back up at the leaders, pushing the thoughts of envy and temptation into the back of her mind.

He was met with a variety of stares, though most of them were quite curious and some grieving. The cats of the four clans had felt compelled to express their grief for Larkstar and somehow that made the young leader sigh blissfully. The crowd below him had all of their orbs directed on him which made him want to fidget but he restrained. When Wreathedstar heard the voice of Lilythorn below him, he looked down and met her curious gaze. His blue gaze flicked away from her for a moment and landed on Mintypaw as he jerked his jaw up slightly to acknowledge her. He breathed in slowly, sucking in as much air as possible as he gave himself more time to think about what to say. Should he tell them? It wouldn't be fair to hide it from the Clans and then they be attacked later without being prepared. The way he saw it was that they were all in this fight united as one against the enemy and they deserved to know. "As far as we're aware of, she was murdered by Eclipseomen and her brother." It was blunt, but his throat was beginning to tighten up again. He shot a backwards glance at Lynxstar before looking forward again. She was getting old, and would probably die before her clan was ready, and that would be a rather depressing day.

ooc;; Lily I meant her old mentor, but I talked to lynx and got it changed to Summerpath.
Vividstar was trying to stay focused on the gathering but he mind kept wandering, until she heard how Larkstar had died. The young leader let out an angry hiss. That gang was up to something again. "Excuse me, but I do believe it was Ghoststar whom was also murdered by them." She meowed her eyes narrowing slightly. They were picking the leaders off, leader by leader, of course leaders could be replaced, but only by weaker leaders, well in most cases, like hers. Her heart thudded in her chest as she sucked in a breath. She looked at the leaders around her. If they did intend to pick off the leaders slowly but successfully, she would be next, then possibly Wreathedstar due to the similar inexperience both leaders shared, but would they dare to mess with Perilstar or Lynxstar? If it continued like this there would be no Celestialclan or Zephyrclan left. Of course, the merge between her clan and Tempestclan, that would soon be done, it was already in progress. A shiver ran down her spine, they couldn't possibly be strong enough to take on a whole clan, never mind two clans that had been merged together. What on earth were they up to?

As a hiss erupted from one of the felines behind him, Wreathedstar spun around, his claws unsheathing out of habit. Vividstar spoke, and his claws slowly sheathed once more. His eyes widened, and suddenly he knew that they Clans weren't strong enough to do it separately, they had to unite in order to survive or it was all over for the four clans. Without even thinking of the reactions of any other cats, he spoke, "We have to unite in order to survive, or we will all cease to exist!" Wreathedstar snapped his jaw shut, feeling embarrassed that he had let that slip out so suddenly. After taking up a more dignified position, he began to speak again, "If these cats are strong enough to kill leaders, imagine what they can do to the warriors or apprentices. If they caught any cat alone, or in pairs, they could and will capture..or even worse, murder." He turned to look at the three leaders, hoping he didn't seem foolish. There was some kind of tension hanging in the air, a tension he couldn't understand. Like a secret was being hidden. [/blockquote]

With a small, silent sigh, she let her head droop a bit before raising it into a high stature once more, catching Wreathedstar's gaze as he looked over his shoulder at her. Blinking in acknowledgment to his being so overwhelmed with this sudden responsibility thrown at him, Lynxstar let her gray eyes hide themselves beneath her lids, drooping so slowly she may have well been a tortoise, blinking. Instead, though, they didn't pop back open. Like a curtain, veiling her from these suddenly foreign cats, the big she-cat only allowed her lonely gaze to sweep along the crowd once more when she heard Vividstar speak up in her pretty little tinkling voice, trying so hard to be confident when all she felt was pressure. Deep down, Lynxstar sensed that the other leader's quiet voice was trembling. From what? Nothing good, for sure. "Settle down Wreathedstar," Lynxstar finally spoke up in a cool, deep voice, flicking her ear at the smoky gray tom. "No one will be uniting, as you put it, and I feel we aren't at as big of a risk as you think." She murmured, gently reprimanding the silly thought of Flamingarrow or Darkfog mixing in with the other clans. Snorting faintly, she continued, this time directing her gaze to Vividstar. "And news spreads quickly. Aside from that, I know everyone is still feeling the pain of losing Ghoststar, a strong and wise leader, weighing down their hearts." The tawny she-cat sighed, slowly moving her whiskers forward, as if stretching them like a cramped muscle. "And now that we know that they are lurking and plotting still, even as they are no longer lead by traditions, we must keep in mind that these rouges are much weaker than we, really. They have no sense of loyalty to each other, no friendship, and they certainly do not support one another. As long as none of you," She dryly pivoted an ear toward the three newer leaders, "Decide to stir up a war, then everyone ought to be able to deal with Shard and his cronies with ease." Her barrel-like chest expanded as she calmly drew in a deep breath, and spoke again, with her oddly wise voice booming throughout the cavern. "Anyway, I'm sorry if this seems rude, but I can't help fidgeting while I wait my turn." She chuckled with a wry smile shadowing her broad face. "So if you'll please allow me to speak VertigoClan's turn now, I promise I'll keep my jaws latched." Lynxstar purred roughly, twitching her bobtail. "Whew. All is well with VertigoClan. We have two new warriors, Buzzardspite and Rowanleaf. Prey has been excellently running, now that new-leaf is in its full. Two queens, Abyssbird and Flamingarrow, have had a lot of healthy kits. Abyssbird has had two, and Flamingarrow is now a proud mother of five." She purred, then dipped her head to Wreathedstar and Vividstar, excusing herself. "That's all." The big she-cat murmured almost sheepishly when she retreated to the back of the cliff as her turn was finished.

Taintedleaf smiled and made himself more comfertable as Stormwind replyed with the news of kits. he nodded in response to the question that was posed. "Yes, thats good. Actually we had two litters as well, both at the same time actually. Sadly one was a stillborn, and well, I'm sure you'll hear what happened to a few others in due time, if Wreathedstar decides to share." he spoke, his vice catching in his thraot at the end. His sad green eyes gre wideas the gathering started and he looked up.
ooc; Nothing is really going on wit my other two cats so whatever.

ooc: ok, minty. i didn't know, i just looked at the listing. xD oh, and lynx. that last post is something that might appear in my nightmares. -corrects spelling- one more thing, LYNXSTAR ISN'T THAT OLD. unless lynx has suddenly changed her bio. woah, ooc rant. -shot-
It was like lightning had struck her. Eclipseomen and Shard had murdered Larkstar. She sucked in air and let it out in a long sigh. She bowed her head down and looked to her feet. So many deaths. Lilythorn's ears twitched as she heard Lynxstar speak up and tell of VertigoClan. Nothing had really happened in their Clan. Well, nothing they would tell the other Clans. She wondered what Flamingarrow was doing, and what Serenewinter and Darkfog were doing together. Somehow, she knew that Abyssbird and Flamingarrow were exactly alike. Their kits would never really know their fathers. Perhaps they would stick together through it all. Yes. That would be the best thing for the two she-cats to do. Piercing blue eyes lifted off of her paws, they went up to look at Vividstar and Perilstar.
